In my experience the Top Boost setting is probably the best for dirty sounds on the Mach 3. The Plexi setting is a bit of a let-down, in my opinion. Regardless, I’m getting better dirty sounds with pedals and the Mach 3 set clean. The Mach 3, like all my other Quilters, is not great for overdrive, but it has beautiful clean tones and takes pedals as well as, or better than, any tube amp I’ve owned.

Trust these season players . If you're not able to achieve a good tone setting fron the Mach lll, then the amp not for you !!! I own two Mach lll s .. Four different voicings with a TC compressor and EQ in front, and a TC Spark Compressor in effects loop. Home made 12 / 15 cab .. Telecaster and 335 are weapons of choice .. Besides, it's not the gear but the talent within 😅😅😅😅
