I sincerely believe that hand quilting brings out the very best of the quilt's personality. Very lovely video. 💐

Thank you this lovely tutorial on a subject that is often not talked about outside of quilting circles. This was great of you are just starting, or you want to just do a small project. Thank you.

Another wonderfully informative video. I'm thinking of making a quilt for my niece's new baby, so this is definitely exactly the vid that I needed to see. Thanks for the tips and tricks. Take care.

Gilbert, I love your sewing dictionary and how you show how to sew each embroidery stitches. Much valued and appreciated vlog content.🤗💚

You've reminded me that a quilted petticoat could be a good idea. I'll add it to my list :)

Another reminder of a better way to do a thing: Quilt from the inside out. Thank you, Gilbert. xx

You've been snooping through my UFO pile again, haven't you? I've machine quilted a few baby blankets and the shifting problem is real. Definitely start from the middle and prepare to trim edges. Also make sure your larger projects can fit, rolled up, through the space under the arm of your sewing machine. Polar fleece makes light, cheap and washable batting if you are OK with synthetics. That yellow waistcoat is 👌

Aaah, sewing machine tension... always check it when you change fabrics... or when you haven't used the machine in a while... or when you've looked away for a moment... and then (on the 80's Singer-from-Heck) listen for that peculiar little noise it makes when it spits your thread out of the tensioner and starts making terrycloth on the back side of your work...

Wonderfully explained. I love that you included machine quilting (some purists might frown upon that).

(then the purists don't have to use a machine)

Also, when you pre-wash, wash every layer. Otherwise they might shrink at different times.

I am not a quilter by any means but it seems like something fun to do. I think I am going to give it a go after finals week :)
