I love the slow stitch, the hand applique and hand quilting! I also have a featherweight....her name is Minnie after my Grandma! All your fabrics and designers are my favorite! Love all the civil war fabrics and patterns! I would love to be sitting next to you in your sewing room and having a sew day...chatting & going through all the things that makes us happy! ❤ But the "very best" part is the end...where you share your love for our Lord! HE is the Mighty One...who is 100% in control! We are so Blessed to have a Savior! Till next time....May the Lord bless you and Keep you...May his face shine down upon you and give you Peace! Hi Gayle! Isn’t there such a variety of stitching to try!? The slow stitching movement has such a draw because of the pace and just stitching the things that bring you peace. Not necessarily functional items. I’m loving to watch others’ ideas and seeing how they can inspire me to try a new stitch or project. Have you seen the rice bag that Jeri and K3n made? Love them!

Beautiful quilts! When I quilt my quilts, I use a couple of decorative stitches and some cross hatch. I have to say,I’ve never done folk art quilts. After seeing yours, I might have to try one. I just remembered that I have a pattern I bought 5 years ago from Primative Gatherings… we are only a few miles from that shop.. and I never started it! I have to dig it up.

Didn’t quite understand if you use the Aurifil 80 weight for hand quilting or for hand applique? Love all the info shared in this video. You’re so good at choosing fabrics.

I’m so glad you are enjoying seeing all my sweet quilts! I love sharing them and inspiring others to keep stitching! I use the Aurfil 80wt for hand appliqué only since it is so fine. I use Aurfil 50 wt for machine stitching and sewing on bindings. Does that make sense? I’ll try to keep sharing about my fabric choice process. That’s a good idea. Thanks for watching!

So enjoyed this video and the time and effort it takes you to do one. I had no idea you’ve made sooooooo many quilts and hand quilted them. I love how soft and pliable the hand quilted ones are. I do have a question…. I know when using quilting thread I bury my knot between the fabric and batting when starting and ending. Are you able to do that using Vadoni thread since it’s so thick ? I just can’t imagine that. Really enjoy your videos and already looking forward to the next one. You are looking so happy and I’m so happy for this leg of your life. So glad you have a wonderful studio to store and do all your projects in. I also have to say after watching you I always head to Amazon and end up purchasing another quilting book! 😅

I feel like you are my kindred spirit! Oh my goodness! I love your videos so much! I am going back to video one and I'm going to watch each and every episode. I have a question about the foundation paper pieced pineapple quilt, when you use the paper do the seams nest when you put the blocks together? I am trying to picture it in my head but I have never done paper piecing so I can't figure it out. Thank you for your kind soul and calming nature, I also moved out of CA but we are in AZ in the mountains, so much better and calmer than living in CA! Take care...Dora

Loved your video! Those quilts and fabric choices are what I gravitate to also. Thanks so much for sharing them along with your quilting supplies preferences. I will be watching your recommended slow quilting videos and checking out the Featherweight Shop since I have a Featherweight. What do you use to sew an accurate 1/4”seam? Is there a special foot or guide? I am a quilter so know the work it takes to make a quilt. It is a labor of love.

Beautiful quilts, love your hand quilting. I have a question about hanging the quilts, do you cover them with something like a garment bag? I’ve had clothes that have hung in a closet for years and they get dirty on the top and sometimes discolored. Would that happen to the quilts? Maybe get some cheaper pillowcases, cut a small hole for the hanger and clip that over the quilts? Just an idea. I love the same prim style you love.
