There is no way I can express how happy my heart is to have you back in my “KZbin” life. I mentioned to you one time about my drug addicted daughter. I hope you remember our little convo, I wanted you to know how good Jesus is. She is back home with us and our prayers have been answered. It’s a daily journey, but she is now depending on things she was taught growing up. You are such an inspiration to me and I just needed to tell you. Not to mention how you get my quilting juices flowing when I’m in a slump. God bless you and all of your endeavors.

Sherry, I am so glad to be a blessing to you!!! I love this connection and how even though I'm talking to myself in my room when I record...I can push a button and publish that video and make a difference in people's lives. It blows me away!! God is so good and brings us hope and encouragement when we need it. I'm glad to be an encouragement to you and WOW! What an encouragement you are to me with hearing about your daughter!!! I have been hearing from other parents and how with patience, prayer and God's miracles...they come back to God and health. So glad and thank you for sharing!!!

I am binge watching all you quilt videos and you are such an inspiration. I watch till the end, a sister in Christ. Thanks for the reply on the thread. I have since ordered thread, books and boxes. I’m so inspired that I am back to quilting everyday. I inherited my Mom’s sewing room and my daughter is busy stitching too.

Jackie, I'm thrilled that you are a stitching sister as well as a sister in Christ!! So wonderful! Love that you have your mom's sewing room and your daughter stitches as well! It makes me happy that my sister and I both enjoyed my Mom's stash and quilts. It's gotten me thinking on what I want done with my stash when it's time.

Bonnie, We moved to Kentucky 3 months ago to be closer to kids but it's such an adjustment to start over at 70! We downsized, and I have a tiny little sewing room now for quilting & cross stitching, but I'm thankful for it. I feel like I'm visiting with you when you're sharing your life and your love of Jesus. Thanks! Charlene

Charlene, You are so brave to make the move at 70. It is a challenge that I didn't realize would be so all encompassing! You're doing great to be close to your kids and I hope they are a blessing to you!! Thank you for visiting with me in my room as you create in your sweet little room. The space may be small, but if you are surrounded with your stitching treasures and your Jesus...that's a good place to be!!

Thank you for your up lifting messages. I so appreciate your message of use what you have. I definitely struggle and feel overwhelmed when I hear about all the fancy flosses, linen and material lines. I have a real fear that my projects will be ugly in comparison if I don't get exactly what the creators use, but in reality most of the time they are just fine. I also will pray for your prodigal kiddos. Please pray for mine. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you.

My Goodness Bonnie, you are amazing! Always look forward to your videos!! You always offer great tips and share so much of yourself as well as all your wonderful quilts. Really love hearing the stories behind each one of them! I am drawn to the darker colors and so happy to find someone who loves them too! I haven not made a log cabin quilt yet but have always wanted to! So fun to see I have Backwoods Retreat and a Log Cabin Notebook but never made any of their quilts. I actually went to one of Mary Ellen's demo's years ago and loved her, she was a hoot! I have been doing mostly wool applique the last few years but watching your videos has inspired me to want to sew again, I am also in the process of trying to organize my sewing room and huge stash, hopefully that will help! Thanks for being you and for all you put into your videos!

I so enjoy your videos. I love how you just talk to us like we’re there with you. It’s like you’re my nextdoor neighbor! Love grunge and I’m a repro 1920’s fabric and older person. Every once and awhile we just have to shock people, even our self! How I wish I did the binding prep And kept it with the unfinished quilt. I’m paying for it now. Oh I love throwing my quilt in the washer and dryer immediately! That old look is special to me. Those color catchers are terrific and a game changer! In regards to using what you have, I love “shopping at home”. I don’t mean internet shopping but finding the treasures I already own, whether it’s fabric, floss, thread, antiques, things I have previously made and then using them. God has blessed me with so much it’s time to use it. It applies to plants too, if I can get new plants from what I have by whatever method it’s amazing. Yes, Quilters Dream all the way and especially request loft. Bamboo is Select loft but it still quilts like butter. Prayers for your situation I know it is hard. I was selected to give a devotional for a baby shower and the Lord was teaching me the hard way that it is He alone who saves. One can do all the “right “ things in bringing up their children but they can not actually save them. I knew also that people can and do twist around what people say and I figured that if I went ahead with with “Truth the Lord Has Taught Me In Raising Children “ I could get crucified plus I knew I won’t be able to get through it without crying but I also knew that He wanted me to tell what I learnt. My prayer is even through my tears it gave the new mom to be understanding and not a misunderstanding of what being a Christian mom is and who the Lord is. Thanks for taking your time to do the video.

MaryEllen, thank you for sharing your heart with me about what God had wanted you to share at the baby shower. We, as parents, feel so much pressure to raise perfect kids who will share all our values and it just doesn't always turn out that way. I am praying that God, in His Sovereignty, will bring my sons back to Himself and heal their broken places. We can train them in the way they should grow, but He will be the One who brings them back when they depart from Him. Parenting is so much harder than I ever thought it would be.

I just love you and your videos!! It is like I'm visiting a wonderful and insightful friend! I have a few quilting years on you, I started in the early 90s, but I love your style. I really needed to hear "use what you have". Now that I've retired, I have time to finish all my UFOs. I think I suffer from stitcher' ADHD. Thank you for sharing!

Sue, I'm so glad you enjoy my chatty visits!! Most of the time, I do donate or gift my things, but sometimes it's so hard to decide where it should go, and I need to get it out of my home that I do just toss it. I guess for me it's deciding what's priority and I struggle with decisions. I do love having my quilt guild and our free table to be able to bring items every month that others are glad to get...that makes it super easy!!

Dear Bonnie...Oh what a fun friend you are! Love your quilting and all your sharing.i do hope you share your hand quilting techniques sometime. I am also a prayer person. My children were raised in church and accepted Jesus as small children, but have since gone out into the world. One thing I have noticed though, is they may try to act like the world, but they never fit in there. God has marked them as His own! I truly believe they will recognize the call on their lives and will return to Him! I pray the same for your babies. God's gift and calling are without repentance! Bring them home Jesus!

I have a request/question. I have fallen in love with your videos, I love your warmth and humor. So, I have begun watching your channel from the very beginning, I believe it is 3 years ago? Anyway, on one of those older videos, you mentioned some baskets you had inherited (that were lovely by the way) but to use them in your crafting, you had lined them! That was a revelation to me. I love baskets but as a knitter, I did not want to use baskets for fear they would snag my yarn. However, I do not understand how to do it. Would it be possible for you to maybe revisit that and give us a few ideas of how to do it? Thank you so much for reading this. I hope you have a good day. Take care.

What Fabric line did you use for your Schnibbles quilt? Also do you use a hoop for your hand quilting?
@logcabinstitcher7274
@logcabinstitcher7274 12 күн бұрын
I don’t use a hoops with my Hand quilting, but find it more comfortable to stitch in hand. You can give it a try both ways and see what works best for you. Oh, the charm packs were raffle prizes years ago and I believe they were a Linda branock line. The reason it worked so well was the mediums and darks. That’s unusual for most fabric lines. I think if you chose 3 charm packs for this quilt, it would give you more options and even have the lights for the block centers.

I'm glad to know others share this conflicting desire for less, while still having special things and lots of them! I'm finding that the concepts I've learned about minimalism are helping me as I shop. Just today at the nursery I was wanting to buy some plants, yet thinking of ones I still hadn't found a place for, so I left without buying anything and found places for ones I still had sitting in their pots. It feels good to work my way though these new thoughts.
