OMG - what a nightmare in your DMV! We have some in my city that are best to avoid for various reasons, but the one I go to is fabulous even if you have to wait. Even crowded mine has only one line when you enter. You might wait 15 minutes to get through it depending on the time of day, but those people are kind of triage people. They determine what you want and set you up for the right person to see. Then there is a large seating are la where you wait to hear your number called and which counter to head for. I’ve never been in there for more than 1/2 hour. They’ve got it down to a science which is almost unheard of for state offices. 🤪

Hi Anna. Happy Springtime & Happy Easter. I am right with you! In New Mexico with DMV experience. Just to renew tags was an ordeal, online , in person, emissions test, etc. etc and the frosting on the cake, the software on their program doesn’t update address from driver’s license changes. I know your laughing with me! The window gal was so kind and nice, she even lifted the corner of tag to make it easy! Yay, finally done after countless hours. Thank you for always finding the glass half full. That’s how I choose, seek joy in the little things.❤

Love the sheep! I’m cracking up about the DMV, I actually work for Driver License in the county I live in and since Covid we only do appointments most people love it because they are in and out in about 15 minutes. The needle books are going to be cute little gifts for my sewing group. Thanks!

Well now I have to make some needle books. Thanks for sharing. I have the Simply Sweet book by Kathy Schmidt. I ordered the "A Simple Sampling" wall hanging kit. I am stitching my first motif while watching your video. This is my first time using Valdani variegated pearl cotton thread and love them. Yes I ordered all the colors for the project. I love the needle book idea. Of course whenever I have the chance to stop by The West in Tucson I think of you. I went to get the 2023 Prairie Schooler Card. They were out so they are ordering more. This Santa pillow will be in memory of my brother who passed in Feb. Next week I go to Long Beach California for his memorial. Have a great time at retreat.

Good Morning, thank you for the step by step directions for the needle book. My sister made me one I use everyday, I love it. I’m waiting for my hummingbirds to come back. I was thinking they don’t like my new feeder but I have a lot of plants they can eat from. I love that French General Bleu de France, such beautiful fabric. I’m sure your quilt will be gorgeous. I had to go on Etsy to find the fabric I wanted for the backing. Happy Resurrection Day!

I have a Grab and Go bag that goes with me everywhere. I always have a pair of socks I am knitting in the bag. It’s a great distraction when waiting for appointments and always a great conversation starter. ❤️🌺

Omg! We watched the Night Agent too! It was so good! We hadn’t even heard anything about it. Just watched it on a whim. I also ordered the Kathy Schmitz book and when I saw that you could get the fabric already printed! I ordered that too. Now just waiting for valdani threads that I ordered from Rusty Crow Quilt shop. I have her other book with all the hexies and was doing them with over dyed floss. But I finally broke down and ordered the valdani. I mean seriously what is one more thread company added to my stash. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Here in Utah, you have to have an appointment for the DMV. I’m in and out in 10 minutes. Hopefully your next visit will be better. 😊 Also, can you tell me your favorite cross stitching fabric? I just got back into it, and all I know about is the Aida cloth. Adorable needle books! I love your videos! They keep me company on winter weather days!

Happy Easter weekend Anna. It looks like we’re both having a bit a soaker until about Tuesday. Hopefully you can do an Easter egg hunt for the bays. I love those mini scissors I got two pairs at Tater Patch in 2019 when I went to the shop. I finished stitching all my sheep last night. You made me laugh a lot today Anna with the DMV stuff, although I’m sorry you had to go through all that. I am currently dealing with Social Security so I get what you mean by “Cluster ….” !! Your needle books are so cute, yet simple - such great gifts for stitchy friends. Really think I’m going to have to get the Kathy Schmitz embroidery book - I’d love to do the sampler and order the pre-printed motifs. Great KZbin! I’ve been making needle books out of leftover hexie flowers, and I will steal your cute heart pocket idea. Your girlfriends will love them!! I took a Sashiko class and thought of you the entire time. Enjoying it! I found that alphabet animal fabric at Hobby Lobby about 3 years ago. Adorable critters!! I must have an earlier version of Kathy Schmitz embroidery book, no QR code in it, and there are 72 motifs. Suggestion - don’t cut out the circles until the embroidery is finished so you have more to hold onto while stitching. Yes, LOVE Night Agent!!! Enjoy your retreat and great girlfriends.

I couldn’t put down “Lessons in Chemistry”. Thank you for the needle book tutorial. Great idea. I have a question about embroidering on fabric. I plan to make a snow person quilt and I hear you say that you put interfacing behind your fabric. Do you then sew through both the fabric and the interfacing as you stitch the design? I’m fortunate to have a large library system in my area, so they get a large number is copies of popular authors/books. I’m currently #200 on the waiting list for Lessons in Chemistry! Thanks for the needle book instructions. I know you have shared with us before, but I cannot remember at what point you add the SF 101 onto your wool embroidery.🤦🏻‍♀️ Do you add the 101 to your wool before you cut the design out or do you trace design onto the 101 and cut out then add to your wool piece?
