Small note, current inventory at worldwide (Allnet) and DrZZs is already the v2 version of the brainboard!

Hi I bought yesterday will it be the v2?

If i bought the last v1 !!!

We've had the v2 for a while so you should get one if those!

No problem, nothing wrong with the board just doesn't have these added functions.

Sounds pretty cool! I'd love to see a full end to end video (or likely series of videos) of installing a "large" LED installation - you've done amazing work making videos that talk through things like calculating voltage, etc. but I'd still love to see someone starting from scratch and going through all of the planning, measuring, calculations, decision making, etc. to plan out, install, test and set up a bigger installation, something that would really require a dig octa to take full advantage of.

I watched all the way through and I love the auto on/off feature!!

Cool PSU, could have used that when I was trying to fit the PSU, dig-quad, 5V buck converter and relay into a weatherproof box that I sized slightly too small.

Great news! I’ve had the dig octa for the last two years but due to many family circumstances, I am only going to start using it this Christmas. The new upgraded version I am already thinking of using for my under cabinet lighting in the kitchen, because it sounds like it has some great features that will make installation easier!

Just bought a power supply just last week. If I had only known:). Actually I don’t mind the relay but good to know for future builds. Keep up the great work!!!

I was sold with the digital microphone feature and the 100amp board is perfect for my next project.

Like the PSU on/off feature and the HV option. I just came across a situation that I wished I had a diguno that could do 36v.

Pretty slick solution with the RSP power supplies. Might go that route with my next build. But now what to do with the 10x pack of relay modules I bought!? lol.

Hello everyone, I have a dig octa 5, it was running fine and today I had a power outage in a wind storm. I noticed my leds (two 15 metre runs) were on and orange, the default colour. They all were lit, not like an initial start where only a few are. I guess I have to redo the setup as wled wouldn't connect to the board. or did I have a power surge that did something when the power came back on. Thanks

I watched the video to the end. :) I wouldn't mind seeing the DigQuad receive the new power control feature to be used with the different Meanwell PSU. Would be a nice change from simply turning the whole thing off.

I'm 99% sure the dig quad has the same relay circuit as the Dig Octa system, and therefore it would perform the same with the new series of MW power supplies

With regard to Auto On/Off, why go to all that trouble.. I use smart plugs on all my LED installs (with Quindor boards) and the smart plugs use less power (if that is what you are worried about). I dont see a need to keep the brain boards powered when not in use. But, thats just my setups of course
@CeJayiZSicK3 ай бұрын
Keeping logic local means it will be more reliable. If your WiFi or Home Automation system goes down the smart plug won't trigger

love your videos! hoping you may consider doing a indepth tutorial video on the wled app? struggling to find much information on the finer details, such as the settings and abbreviations. unless anyone else here can point me in the right direction? cheers all

Idea for the next Brainboard: find a way to run multiple BrainBoards off one Ethernet line. Even merely adding a second Ethernet port would help, but I suspect something more elegant could be done with a pin/socket connection between multiple stacked boards.
@heritageolagunju17883 ай бұрын
Can't wait. Thinking of how I can implement this as the lighting system for the house.
@Filipvdb3 ай бұрын
don't think this can be done with an ESP32 board and with all the features still there.. remember an ESP32 has limited GPIO pins and ethernet alone requires quite a few.. on the Dig-Octa board there are not many pins unused on the board itself.. basically there could be a switching chip added on the ethernet port but the room just isn't there.. then there is the next problem that both boards run their own software and WLED isn't compatible with running a "cluster".. running a second board as a slave based on data calculated on the first will limit your total LED's in half because one ESP needs to calculate them all.. this has been thought about as you can see :)

I watched it to the the end. :) I have a dig uno ethernet setup. Do you have any tips for the powersaving? Should I add a secodary psu for the controller and relay to trigger the led psu ot is there a more elegant solution in that case? I driving 2 channel with around 40 rgbw led each.
@IntermitTech3 ай бұрын
Depending on what the idle usage of the current PSU is, the investment in the extra hardware for just 80 RGBW pixels likely isn't worth it. Once you run 300 or 600 LEDs all consuming a bit of power, it starts to add up.

Quick question, can i stack a 7HC then a 5HV then 2x brainboards all in one stack? obviously 12V and 5V PSU to supply the relevant powerboard, but can the 2x brainboards stack all the way down using the center power stud?
@IntermitTech2 ай бұрын
Yes you can stack it all together without an issue! Note the 5HV needs at least 24v as a minimum.
@richardhobbs49952 ай бұрын
@ thank you, also for a separate project can I have a 7HC and a 5 stacked with 1 brain board then some of the data ports on brain board is powered from the 7HC and the other ports lights powered from the 5? Or do I need a 2nd brain board?

Will that On/Off PSU trick work with the Dig-Uno / Dig-Quad?
@IntermitTech3 ай бұрын
On A Dig-Uno no, unless you maybe use the second LED output to do so. Same on the Dig-Quad, it has the Q1R which is suitable for relays but might or might not be enough voltage to trigger it, but hard to guarantee like on Dig-Octa which has a much different circuit to do so and always provides a good 5.1v
