His father is a genius! He must have done something right for all 3 of his sons to be top ten draft picks. Probably trained them and sent them to camps their whole lives to become pro hockey players. Very few parents would be willing to sacrifice that much time and dedication to mold their kids to become pro athletes.

Elias Petterson should've been 1st overall in his draft year and Jim benning got him at 5th. Quinn Hughes should've been 2nd overall in this draft and Jim Benning got him at 7. Great job JB is doing with drafting in Vancouver. Only if JB selected Matthew Tkchuck instead of Juolevi, Canucks wouldve had Boser, Tkchuck, Pettersson, and Huges 4 year in a row. Still Great though. If Jim benning ever gets fired, a rebuilding teams or a team looking to tear down should hire him right away. And another example is Boston. JB was the one in charge of drafting in Boston and look how they been looking for last 9-10 years

I'd still take Virtanen over Nylander . Looking back though would have been great if canucks could have snagged pastrnak(25!) or even Larkin . I believe Virtanen's style of play justifies his progression and canucks need his 'heavier' styler as they rebuild. Watch out for Jake as he hits age 25-27
