more than a little bit of help!, This about the best video out there in decades....simple..I come from the Puerto Rican scene and there is no way that anyone would reveal to any one the pattern of practice to play the the quinto like you do in this video...for them is a secret.not so much that it should be a secret, but rather that it is "Power" to know something others dont know and they choose not to share it

Thanks Michael, you have no idea how long I've been looking for a training like this. I used it last weekend when I got together with my rumberos friends and it worked like a charm ..

Michael. My journey in the world of Afro-Cuban percussion started many years ago when the resources for learning correctly were very few. You have used this contemporary technology to the fullest, kudos my friend. Your teaching methods and philosophy are exemplary--great foundational material from which to build on and develop individuality. Living in the U.S. now but born in NL (Arnhem area). Ik wens jou het beste en nog veel succes mi amigo

The bass played by the right hand is important. The 2 basses (or palms) with the left hand are important for the timing. I've learned this pattern from my Cuban teacher and he used the bass of his right hand as a strong point where he ended lots of his variations.

+Michael de Miranda Thank you Michael, mine were bought in the 70's and made of fibreglass. Wooden congas with that traditional look and sound is superior in my humble opinion. 2 questions. Do you moisturize the skins, and what key do you tune each drum?

A QUESTION ABOUT A DETAIL... hey, I've noticed that at the beginning of the film you play 3 bass sounds and when you continue with the clave pattern there's only one... Is it something meaningful? I guess there are dozens of ways to do it, personal preferences also are important, but what is the "Cuban" way to do it? Btw, thanks for the videos man....
