NEVER take your child's hard earned money or ask them to take responsibility for things you should be paying for. Back when I got my first job my father forced me to open a bank account that was connected to his. I didn't understand what that meant at the time since I had never had a bank account before. My parents never got me anything I needed (which is why I got the job) and had even left me out of shopping trips, meaning I had no food. I started to buy food for myself as well as other things I needed. My father was able to see everything that I spent MY money on and decided that he didn't like it. This led to me buying food that I knew I had the money for only to have my card declined. He would take all the money in my account when he decided I was spending too much. I never got that money back. Please don't steal from your children.

I even have a personal story, this A-Hole I worked with (he was a dick but good at his job) divorced his wife for what he claimed was a lack of intimacy (cough, cough, she wouldn't perform every sex act that moron wanted because he saw it in pornography). He would complain non-stop about how his wife left him and no "good" women could take her place, this was mostly down to the fact he had the domestic skills of a raccoon, and was under the threat of eviction for the monstrous state of his house because he didn't clean, ever. I saw pure fury on his face when I got sick of his complaining and said "Maybe marry a porn star who happens to be a maid, you could get some good role-play out of that". It never occurred to this dude, he wanted the divorce (because of expectation that were unrealistic), she left him and his current problems were his by his creation.

@@mauzawa i could fix my car and pay off my debt :,). God I wish I could fix my car. In reality a car that costs 40k is usually a mid tier car for acceleration, or luxury, so like, not bad, but nothing absolutely lovely. Depending on the area you can buy about 1 acres of land, which is cool. You can build a REALLY good gaming rig. A tiny house (some are 40k and are really nice for like 120 square feet.) If you're into modifying your car, you can get a terrible car able to run the quarter mile in, probably less than 11 seconds which usually cars from factory to do that are over 80k. Money is such a complex thing, and of course im missing a bunch of things but like, 40k if you only spent that on luxury items, can get you really far. The last story with the nurse, they might consider it sexual harassment in HR because it has something to do with her body parts and nipples for some reason are a sexual part of women. They are mostly shady and rude and cliquey and if OP comes to them about this, especially if she mentions going to HR, it will turn from a nickname to actual harrassment, though I'm pretty sure using someones NIPPLES as an identifier is already sexual harrassment in itself because coworkers (there must be male nurses too) are obviously looking at her breasts and if it was a harmless nickname they wouldn't have felt the need to hide it like they obviously were. That nickname is malicious, the nurses are not to be dealt with, she needs to file a harrassment complaint with HR

Exactly. And they try to justify it by saying "it's harmless!", " you were never supposed to find out!", and "It's just like Jessica with the red hair!" First off, it's not harmless, OP is clearly mortified by it and embarrassed. Secondly, you were never supposed to find out is a piss poor excuse, and makes it so much worse, because they were hiding their harassment from her. Finally, calling someone by their hair color is not the same as referring to someone by their private parts. Honestly, these are all horrible people who, instead of calling her an embarrassing and offensive nickname, should have told her in private of her wardrobe malfunction, rather than keep it a secret. Who knows how long OP was walking around with her nipples poking through her clothes and didn't even know, meanwhile they're all snickering in the background and coming up with a nickname for her.

I agree 100% I do think the stepson is somewhat the a**hole. (a mild rating though, maybe a 0.5/5 or 1/5) This is just because he could've caused his stepfather harm. I get him not wanting to accept his stepfather as a father, because well... that's not his father. Teenagers like to pull pranks so I can't really fault him for the sock thing. However there comes a certain point where it's no longer "just a prank bro." Pranks are not supposed to hurt people. The main thing is, his mother isn't correcting his behavior. She knows it hurts her husband emotionally. The stepson doesn't realize this, but she does. She needs to talk to him about it and tell him that his pranks are harmful. Since she's basically letting her son emotionally damage her husband, she's basically allowing her son to bully him. She is the big a**hole in this situation.

I have to disagree with you over the last story. That’s just plain sexual harassment to label someone because of their nipples. It’s completely inappropriate and speaking as someone who has worked within hr in a hospital there would be serious repercussions for this.

Something to point out about the last one. Op stated that the charge nurse's eyes widened. That's a huge indicator that it's not just a "harmless nickname", it was clear that they were doing it on a more negative way

I helped my family pay bills starting when I was 16, too. I totally understand OP in the school trip story, and, if I could go back, I wouldn't have helped them as much as I did. I would have saved it for an apartment or something.

I can't imagine the pain that stepdad felt when he thought he FINALLY had acceptance from Billy, only to open the box and find that sock. Billy sucks and so does his mother. They don't deserve him AT ALL.

I don’t know if I believe your nickname story, but then again, due to a hyphenated first name (second part being Maxine), in elementary school it never printed properly on IDs, so among some (including my sister, when she was pissed at me), my nickname was Maxi Pad….didn’t help that I was a smidge overweight as a kid.

If I was in OP's shoes, having a stepson that hates me that much that he feels the need to "prank" me while his mom enables him, I would straight up leave them at that point.

@@spectrelead Yikes. That just further proves the point. If OP had gotten hurt or even killed in circumstances similar to yours, would the family (Or heck, even legal authorities for that matter, I could see them getting involved in a scenario like that) still see it as a prank?
@spectrelead
@spectrelead 3 жыл бұрын
@@Sailorguardianluna Oh, I guarantee that LEOs would've been involved, and had I been in that OP's situation and then gotten a ticket, stepson would be repaying me for the fine AND cost of repairs (either in him getting a job for it, OR in loss of priviledges/money for non-essentials)

For the older sibling that saving up for their class trip I would suggest keeping their money with them constantly or debit card or ATM card maybe even changing the PIN so that your siblings and parents don't try to steal the money from you

I really like the ppl pulling for the step dad in the first story. He's really out here putting in hard work for an emotional relationship with his son and when he breaks the man's heart. I wanna hug him.
