Fun fact: I have never, in my life, ripped a pair of leggings while putting them on. I put on all my clothes calmly and carefully, as to not rip them. Just to see what they were like, I ordered one pair of LuLaRoe leggings. My untrimmed toenail caught on the inside of the left leg and INSTANTLY tore it. @meowtherainbowx41636 жыл бұрын
+spinningchurro I believe it depends on what level of the pyramid they’re on, though. These desperate and aggressive behaviors toward recruitment are used constantly, so I wouldn’t blame a victim for acting just like the people taking advantage of them. It’s how they try to survive and convince themselves that it’s not a total waste. If they end up saying something truly awful in an attempt to guilt-trip or lie to you, though, then maybe it’s worth getting mad about. It all depends. Just never join them.

I *almost* got caught up in a MLM when I was 18 and naïve. It was selling "cutlery" and I'd never had a job before then (was told multiple times I needed experience, yet you can't get experience if you aren't given a job first but that's a whole other topic). They had a booth set up at my college campus and PUSHED heavily for inexperienced students. The company was called Vector, and they worked out of this small, shitty office and had us read actual templates on how to "sell" it. Had the people "working" in the office all in posh suits to make it seem like they're "successful". I'm glad my parents talked me out of it, yeah I was a little tilted because I genuinely thought I'd make a good chunk of change from it.. but looking back on it, I'm glad I didnt go through with it.
@witchycakez4 жыл бұрын
Omg the same thing happened to me! Except I was still in highschool and Cutco sent a letter to my house and were promising an $18 salary. What made it all worse EVERYONE was encouraging me to join them my mom's, my school counselor, our family therapist and I was just like "no" lucky me they never called me back for my phone interview but like that sucked the only person who wasn't encouraging me was this classmate who actually told me they're a pyramid scheme

All of these people are literally my science teacher. She's telling us about how awesome essential oils are and "medicine just covers up the problem, but essential oils solve it" and she has a diffuser constantly running in her room. EDIT: She teaches biology and genetics, but there was a section of the year where we focused on the human body and how it works, which is where her beliefs REALLY came through in her teaching. I actually did bring it to the principal, because the essential oils made it harder for me to focus and gave me very painful headaches. Also, she was technically 'treating' us, since she acts like this is a better form of medicine and will cure everything wrong with us, and teachers aren't allowed to give kids medicine, and neither can the nurse. That's the main reason the principal took away her diffuser. EDIT: I just remembered that she also always talks about how "It's a hundred percent natural, which means it's good for your body!"

@RandolphCrane6 жыл бұрын
Essential oils DO shit. Lavender, for example, has antibacterial properties. You can add it to some soapy water to clean surfaces/floors/... more hygienically. Lemon oil has the same property. Lavender can also help calming you down (if mixed with a carrier oil like almond). Clove oil can help with toothaches. There are many scientifically proven properties these oils have. But that doesn't make them magical, and they can't cure cancer nor autism.

From wikipedia: A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products or services. Drug dealers do supply an actual product, so it's not a pyramid scheme. Having distribution chains does not automatically qualify a business as a pyramid scheme. Otherwise you could call anything a pyramid scheme.
@VioletTheGeek6 жыл бұрын
MLM is just a pyramid scheme with extra steps. The product is just there to make it legal.
@TheReddaredevil2236 жыл бұрын
@@VioletTheGeek I agree. In the case of MLM's it is often more about the recruitment than the product itself. Therefore it's a pyramid scheme. Drug dealer networks are not pyramid schemes though. That's all I was saying.

I’m on the autism spectrum, and I can confirm that strong smells somewhat distress us. Same with new tastes we can’t find the source of. We can tell when something is different and that freaks us out a bit.

Fun fact about lularoe: Products with nice-looking patterns are called "unicorns". So essentially even the sellers are saying that it's rare to find any lularoe stuff that looks decent.

from what i understand MLM is a business that some people use to scam people for their money investing in their company or buying BS products that dont do what they are suppose to do. they are a lot legit MLM businesses out there but most people dont take the risk in joining MLM due to fear of being scammed
