I think it sucks that this man never gets the recognition he deserves. Like my community, our community, the Black and Brown community adopted this man. I remember when “They Don’t Know” came out, radio stations thought he was a black man singing. His writing skills and vocal levels were ahead of the times. I when out on a date with a woman who was 20 years old back in 2021 and she was singing this song word for word when I was driving. I asked her how did she know this song. Well apparently not only does she study music, but Jon B still writes and has his hands in some of the modern day contemporary artistry as well. Jon B, Blessings to you Brother, we need legends like you around! Blessings!

You might b a bit younger, because "They Don't Know" was from his second album. "Someone to Love" was his first single and the video was a surprise because his vocal delivery was very similar to Babyface at the time.

That young lady who gave the statement at 19:35 about the shift of R&B music is the main reason I stopped listening to mainstream artists. They sounded like they were bitter, horny, hurt and untrusting. Also sounded more "rap like" than melodic if that makes sense.

Pac personally sought out Jon for the song and wanted him to shoot the video how they did it because he knew his Death was coming. Still can't believe it's been over 25 years since 2pac died and we still talking about Don like he still Physically here. I disagree with my girl Heather B. I dont think Jaheim was the first on that thugged out R&B. I like to think Jodeci was the first to come out with that R & B with a little bit thugged out twist with hip hop mixture. Because they had the EMPD samples and they were on a lot of Tupac songs and ran with Pac etc..plus their lifestyle.
