I think that has certainly happened. Luckily there are a few lower voiced/timbre vocalists making it out now as well. Nowhere close to majority though...

I totally understand where you're coming from-- I'm an Alto and Mezzo Sopranos and Sopranos tend to be more prevalent. The good news is, artists like Sam Smith, Giveon, and Khalid are all Baritones (lower voice types--aka not tenors) making moves out here. So--you can still be successful. There's an audience for you!!!

@Ishbikes Жыл бұрын
For instance, you started talking about pitch control. You could’ve gave a little example. Same with breathe control, and some riffs and runs. If we hear it. It’ll be a easier for us to sign up for what your pitching. It’ll be nice to hear examples.. sort of how Eric A does. Not saying you have to be him, I’m just saying it helps when he gives the bad/good example. Other than that, you articulated yourself well.

Summer Walker? Vocally inept no range..no breath control or breathing at all. Where is summers range? My lord!!! When does singing thru your nose qualify as singing. I do love your vocals, if that is you on the intro? Also I love your description of the type of vocal skill needed plus things to do. I respect and like your presentation.
@indieartistschool3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, that is me in the introduction. I think Summer's tonality, control, and artistic/stylistic choices work for her. Everyone has their own preferences. But, I wouldn't go as far to say that she's not a good singer. I personally enjoy her music. But as always you're entitled to your own opinion.

There is a lot of sad and toxic relationships. That seems to be all that is reflected in R&B. Not country! They talk about loving and cherishing their special person. I have been sad for a while as a dance teacher of kids

How is rnb influenced by hip hop, rnb is only influenced by gospel, Now we do have rnb hip hop thanks to Mary j bilge but if u see how that started along with Jodeci and father Mc, u would know better! I think it's the other way around who started using rnb hooks and samples first, like theses younger generations out here straight Cappin about a history they know nothing of! Rnb was first how can that be! Stick to vocal tips and don't give miss information about our music culture!
@counterintuitivepanda45552 жыл бұрын
She's talking about modern rnb, which is true
@indieartistschool Жыл бұрын
Hey! I think we're saying the same thing, actually. It seems there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding. I break down the differences between Traditional r&b and it's origins as well as Contemporary/modern r&b and how it's evolved. R&b certainly has its roots in gospel & blues. And other genres borrowed from R&B, such as country and rock. However, contemporary/modern r&b has quite a bit of hip hop influence. The beauty is how vast and diverse R&B has become for many generations with different hybrids of fusion and influences! I love it
