With the small business point, every cent they discount is a cent out of their own pocket and they likely realized they aren't making enough to offer that except on bills of over $20. Good will only matters if there's enough of an influx in sales. And honestly, it's very respectable that they kept the discount at all when many places would cut it out completely.
@reavershank89852 жыл бұрын
Most countries dont even have veteran discount at all, like anywhere. so even for just above 20 dollars it still a nice thing to have

Exactly. Math isn't my best subject but I can understand that giving away two products for free or less than their worth and only selling one product at full price will leave me in the red by the end of the week.

Most places don’t even have military discounts, so people should really just be happy when there is one. I know my parents would be ecstatic if they heard about this discount. usually if you go to a restaurant with more than one person, you can easily spend over $20

I had eczema as a kid. It's been decades, but I can still FEEL those itchy, dry, cracked patches on the backs of my hands. I would imagine that putting mayo or anything else with vinegar in it directly on there would have stung & probably irritated it even more. The oil might be helpful, maybe even the egg, but there's vinegar, salt, and sugar in mayo and I don't think you want that on your dry cracked skin
@moonlightwolf2 жыл бұрын
Egg is actually bad for eczema! I've had it all my life, and my doctor finally made me cut out dairy, eggs, and shellfish, along with putting me on dupixent. I still have flare ups, but even just cutting out those foods (esp the eggs) made all the difference!
@ZeeNastee2 жыл бұрын
Mayo can actually make it worse, much worse. It's one of those "natural" remedies that people say works but it doesn't.

I soak cotton pads with apple cider vinegar and put it on my eczema, it works surprisingly well. I feel like regular vinegar probably would irritate it though

With the military discount, I agree with the person who replied to the OP. No one is entitled to a discount because of their profession. Businesses do discounts out of courtesy, not obligation. Think of all the other hardworking people who don't get discounts at all because they aren't military.

It's not even worth it getting a discount on something less than $20. You save $2 on a 10% discount if the item is $20. You save $1 if it was $10. Heck, if the item is $5, you're only saving $0.50! Why should you even bother with a discount at that point? They could've taken it away completely. It makes sense to offer it on purchases of at least $20.

Most (not all but a vast majority) of food and drink based off-brand items (same for a lot of consumer products really) are made in the same factories as each other with very minor differences in ingredients to that which it is imitating. So 90% chance you're paying 2-3x for the label.

I work in a restaurant. Anytime a discount is applied, you NEED to get a manager with coeds because no way a normal server is going to have the codes to discount bills. So it could be very annoying to have to bother your already busy manager upstairs in their office to apply a minor discount every couple minutes
@NotWorthBeans162 жыл бұрын
For the small business post. I will say my family owns their own shop and we do have a couple things we will do discounts on period. These items are newspapers and magazines because we literally make next to nothing on them. I'm talking at best we make pennies to the dollar off of them. We keep them because some of our most loyal older customers still enjoy reading them but we have had to cut back quite a bit over the years. We sometimes have other restrictions depending on the sale we're running but we make people aware we don't do any discounts on those two items ever.

The ones I've gone to only throw out those cheap mixed candies that you can give like five bucks those big bags. Since when is a parade about candy anyways does anybody even expect to get candy?? I HAVE BEEF WITH HEINZ KETCHUP. Ahem. Anyway. I had roommates who originally wanted to conjoin groceries (hindsight: stupid idea), even though I had an ED and therefore ate next to nothing. They asked me to grab a ketchup for dinner, which was fine because store brand is like a dollar. I wasn’t hungry, but I brought it back anyway, only to be told that “oh… can you go back and buy heinz 😬? We only want heinz.” I never shared any of my food again, because I was big mad… and petty… and maybe a month later one roomie was like “heyyyy can we maybe have some of your ketchup? 😚 we ran out”. The answer was an angry laugh and NOPE.

I had a sort of nice Dodge journey that I loved and engine went etc, more $ to fix than what I paid and I was given a Nissan Cube that was in 3 wrecks, cracked windshield, dents everywhere, not to mention just a weird lookin car anyway, and I couldn't have been more grateful...Still got me to work! We also took advantage of having a POS Nissan and put Anime stickers on it, and FYI those things have bumpin speakers!

I live in a military city and have worked jobs directly dealing with them or in customer service roles at places they frequent. I’ll be the first to say that there are a lot of decent people who served but there are also a lot of entitled snobby wannabe royalty people who just happened to be allowed to also sign that contract. Those types are insufferable to deal with. Thankful for the reasonable ones though.
