for the "how to survive a waterfall" 6th panel, i wish they emphasised the importance of swimming away from the waterfall even before you break the surface. it's important because of a deadly phenomenon called "drowning machine's". basically it's an underwater vortex that if caught in is nearly impossible to escape without outside assistance and causes anything or anyone caught in it to spin around underwater endlessly like a washing machine killing it's victim, hence the nickname "drowning machines"

Another specific thing about that is not to swim straight down either, as depending on either the height or intensity it can erode a pool at the base that's full of these cyclic currents, your best aim is downstream.

the thing about ginger is true. as someone with stupidly complex stomach issues, I either eat some candied ginger, eat a pile of home-made ginger biscuits, drink ginger beer (the non-alchohol type), or ginger and lemon tea to settle it. it's what they recommend for pregnant women when going through morning sickness. also, I freakin' love ginger.

it is also good when you have NERD ( non errosive reflux diseas) and it is starting after a meal or whenever you feel bad about it. It helps the stomach. Also peppermint for bloating, I use it every time and it works pretty well. Green tea is meh, it is more likely makes you pee a lot, which I know is also the part of your metabolism, but it is not that big of a deal. Elderflower... never tried, but as all warm drinks are said to help to feel better when you have the flu or the common cold it might do something, worth trying.

Tilt and turn is the most common window type in European houses I guess? Definitely in German houses. That's almost every window, and doors to balconies or porches are mostly like that as well. UK here. what's aircon?🤣 all the windows in my neighbourhood are tilt and turn - high-rise, low-rise, house, bungalow - they all have the same type. however, my kitchen window likes to be a total t**t and attempt both maneouvres at once, meaning I have to get the step ladders out and fix the damned thing. the only cure was to not put it in tilt mode at any time. got them because they're (apparently) easier to maintain/change/upgrade.

I can confirm that ginger tea will help nausea, especially paired with lemon. The lemon helps immediately because it turns alkali when metabolized, the ginger helps over a longer period because gingerol (the primary compound in ginger) breaks down into shogaol and zingerone when heated. All three of these compounds stimulate the digestive tract to help things move down and out of the stomach. Conversely, if you need to make yourself vomit, you can mix some mustard powder in a cup of water.

My dad one day was driving home from work. And he felt this sharp pain in his left arm and became incredibly dizzy. He was hauled to the nearest hospital in code red because they thought he was having a heart attack based on the symptoms. For the people who don't know in Italy there's a system called triage. Where they assign a code to each patient in order to figure out who is seen by the doctor first and last. They go if I'm not wrong from white/green white being not urgent at all (if it exists) and green being sick but okay doing. To black which is rarely given as it indicates a dead patient. During that time my mom made an absolute fool of herself on the highway on dad's car trying to get to him. She had activated the windshield wipers and had no idea how to turn them off. She asked a motorcyclist how to do that and he frankly responded he drives a motorbike not a car. He didn't know either. And it doesn't help it was sunny and bright outside. I better remind her to study how to turn them on and off if she truly plans on getting a car. Anyways my dad didn't not in fact have a heart attack and the doctors couldn't figure out what happened. And he only felt that that one time. The only time he came near feeling the same was this year when he was working in the blazing sun with 40 degrees (104F°) on a building's facade. He was about to pass out before complaing to his boss to be sent home because of the impossible life threatening conditions.

"panini" is an italian publisher specialized in collectable stickers, "panino" is the italian word for "small sized bread"; since most of the stuffed bread is made with small sized bread, they got the same name. Same for piadina: "piadina" is just the flat bread part, but it is also used to indicate a piadina with an unspecified filling, like "sandwich" indicates any dish made with some filling between two slices of bread.

A lot of natural remedies are helpful, but obviously not all-cures. You won't "cure" cancer with herbs and essential oils, but if you suffer from a cold, digestion issues etc. then some things can help soothe you. Like ginger with nausea, you can use onions in cloth wraps to help with pain in the ears due its mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, honey helps soothe bad coughs and grated apples can help with diarrhea due to their fluids, fibers and their easiness on the stomach. Obviously, even when using natural remedies, one needs to be aware that they can't help with serious issues and to always consult a medical professional beforehand. Again, they're no *cure* but they can help soothe some symptoms and many have been used for centuries.

Robin, about that being dressed in black with no reflectors in the dark... As a part of my driving lessons my dad took me and my brother and my mom to a back forrest road in late September before there was snow, also there was no streetlights on that road, first he dropped me off and told me to wait at the start of the road, then he drove off and dropped my lil bro and my mom at random spots of that road and came back, swapped me to be the driver and said, let's go, stop when you see them. Off we went and after 2 minutes he told me to stop and I did and he said: "You didn't see your brother at the side of the road did you?" and I was like: "Nope" and he was like: "Yup there he was." opened the door a bit and told my brother to get in the car we carried on and I saw the glimmering reflector on my mom's clothes about 2 bends in the road before. So either your place has streetlights or shit ton of light pollution (yes it's a thing) and you don't know what a proper dark is like... EDIT: I want to clarify, I wrote this BEFOREE the video got to the light pollution bit, and Finalnd has MOSTLY the best kind of Streetlights, we like our star gazing on a clear moonlit winter nights while there is lots of snow and silence blesses our ears like a lovers kiss in the morning. Okay so anyone who knows anything about autism knows the term “high functioning” and “low functioning” but those terms are incredibly abstract and frankly ableist, because autism is a spectrum, so there isn’t “more autistic” and “less autistic” so for example I use 3 people, Mary, Bob, and max. Mary: Mary is autistic, she can speak very well, and is very good at art, but she has very bad social anxiety and cannot remember faces or names easily. Bob: Bob is autistic, he is semi nonverbal, so when he gets overwhelmed he stops talking, he also has a stutter, but he has great memory and can do maths and English very easily Max: max is autistic, he cannot speak and tics, he struggles in English and maths, but is a very good artist, he can lean art very quickly. They are all autistic.

Also doesn't account for masking. Mary might be able to fake sociability in many situations, but would be much more comfortable and better off (the other person too!) with more support in that area. I know functioning labels are problematic but they also do try to describe a legitimate difference that it helps to be able to discuss. Babysitting (or teaching, or transporting, etc) my autistic child who has very high support needs in communication, personal care, and safety is not babysitting my autistic child who has high support needs in socialization, nor should it be for everyone's comfort and safety. I think 'high support needs'/'low support needs' /in x area/task/situation/stimulus/etc/ is a decent balance of encompassing without just over generalizing. Paired with the important distinction that support needs can change, both over time and day to day or min to min..

If you're from Europe, it's weird that the tartness starts with Granny Smith. We have more sour apples here that are usually used for baking. But we also don't have many of these types but different ones instead. We do have Granny Smith, though.

5:39 you could use a runaway truck ramp. Driving into a runaway truck ramp and paying a towing fee is way better than paying for other damages. They are in place to save lives and I dont think you would get fined for using them in an emergency.

0:52 I have the rarest form of colorblindness- Tritanomaly. It is a milder form of the blue-yellow Tritanopia. I grew up thinking the sky was green, and that Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy had pink hair. Whenever i color for my art and whatnot, I always hope that what i have is labelled clearly so I don't get wrong colors. My fiance helps me with identifying ones I have trouble with, so that's nice 🙂 The irony is that my three favorite colors are the ones i have the most trouble with- purple, green, and orange lmao.

17:13 as someone on heart medication at 20 I have this ish memorized and yeah the amount of symptoms that COULD be a heart attack makes me have a panic episode like 2 times a day. To me the more annoying thing is that how little doctors seem to listen to patients, I was very close to having a heart attack a few months ago and went to the hospital because I recognized the warning signs only to be told by 4 nurses and 2 doctors that "you're to young to be having heart issues, you're just working yourself up for nothing" then when I said "note that you're refusing to treat me so my family can sue when I die" then suddenly let's get an EKG and hook you up to monitors. Low and behold I had a heart rate of 122bpm and my BP was skyrocketing. TLDR: If a doctor is refusing to treat you or take you seriously tell them to put that on file. It'll be there for reference legally or they'll magically want to do tests and listen, especially if you are young or a minority

12:52 The real difference between "atomic" and "hydrogen" bombs is the type of method they use. Typically, when you hear about atomic bombs, you think of fission bombs- the splitting of an atom as it undergoes super-criticality. Iirc, fission bombs have an yield in the hundreds of kilotons. When you talk about hydrogen bombs, you are referring to fusion bombs- (which often times use a fission reaction as the catalyst to perform fusion (yes they set off a nuke to detonate a larger, even more powerful nuke)) Fusion bombs are most often measured in megatons.
