My sister's school did a protest once, after the new principle changed the dress code, before that it was very chill and quite reasonable, but among the new rules he specifically banned girls from wearing make up so a sizaable group of boys at the school asked girls to help them putting whole drag queen level make up before school so everything got covered in glitter and smeared with rainbow colors.

If someone came up to me saying women shouldn't be wearing jeans cause it sexualizes then, I'd tell them, 'yup they sure they do, that's why I wear boys jeans instead!" For context, I'm like under five and half feet tall, with somewhat curvy hips, and I have a very hard time finding women's jeans that fit me. They're either too long, too small (can't get them over my hips if I get them to fit my waist area), or too big overall/too big in the back and tend to pooch out in the back (if I get them big enough to go over my hips, they're too big around my waist, as I have a smaller waist line than my hips are wide). So as a result, most of my shopping for jeans tend to be done in the Boys section, cause Boys jeans and slacks have an adjustable waistband inside, so I can just tighten them or loosen them at my waist as needed. Also, POCKETS!!! 😃 Also, I'd like to add, if u wanna sexualize boys jeans (not mens, BOYS) on someone who doesn't completely 100% identify as female (I'm afab), good luck. Have fun with that. Cause not only are you sexualizing a female bodied person (ugh all on its own) whos not even remotely trying to look "sexually appealing as a female", but u're also sexualizing minors/childrens clothing as well, so double ugh! Any discriminating thing u say after that in regards to my clothing choices is just gonna make u sound like a pedo, so have fun with that, lol.

As a person who has been married for 27 years, to my best friend... You can not break a happy and healthy marriage, no matter how you try. If both partners are happy, they communicate, and all that... Another person just cant break it. Those who stray or cheat, weren't in a happy space to begin with.
@razztastic
@razztastic Жыл бұрын
You are fundamentally misunderstanding relationships due to the privilege of keeping a honeymoon phase for the entire duration of *your* relationship. Being with someone isn't a fucking romantic novel, saying those who stray or cheat were never happy with their partner in the first place is naive at best and absolutely incompetent at worst.
@cre-k8-ive
@cre-k8-ive Жыл бұрын
True! I'm not married and it isn't a goal of mine. But this is true of all relationships. If an outside individual is able to break a relationship, it wasn't very stable to begin with. And seeing that can help you decide what needs to be done. Are the people in the relationship each wanting to put in effort to rebuild? If not, you can say goodbye without hate knowing you made the right choice. I think what people feel most upset about is there's an implication that divorce is a failure. If we stop phrasing it as "Here's how to communicate so you don't get divorced", I think people are happier to listen.
@Just_Reading_Comments
@Just_Reading_Comments Жыл бұрын
@@razztastic I think you misunderstood the comment. When OP wrote “Those who stray or cheat, weren’t in a happy space to begin with” they aren’t talking about from the beginning of the relationship. They simply meant for someone to cheat there had already been a breakdown in the relationship before the cheating occurred, which is true. Just because you refer to your partner as your best friend and espouse communication doesn’t mean someone is in “a honeymoon phase”, those are quite literally key points in a healthy relationship and not just things in a fucking romantic novel. Real relationships are hard work. Cheating doesn’t just mysteriously happen out of nowhere and another person can’t cause someone who is in a happy, healthy, fulfilling marriage to cheat. Which is all @SprinkleFallingleaf was saying.
@mommy2libras

That's one of the stupidest things I've heard. Plenty of people are happy in their relationships at one point only to find themselves unhappy, or at least discontent, years later. This can be due to life circumstances, traumatic events or even just the fact that people can grow and change over time. Very few people are the same people in their 40s and 50s that they were in their teens and 20s and plenty of factors can affect how they think of themselves, the world, their place in it and their dreams and aspirations between those years to make what made them insanely happy at 22 no longer make them happy at 38. Or I guess you've never come across some young couple who fell deeply in love, married, had a child and were happy as hell for 5-7 years only to find out that after maturing a bit, they wanted different things out of life than they thought they did right out of high school because they learned in the interim that the world was much larger than they ever imagined. Or one became more selfish as time went on. Or developed a substance abuse issue. Or one of the hundred other things that arises between formerly happy couples every day. Seeing as you've only ever experienced being you, you have no authority to say whether or not anyone else was "really happy" or "actually" loved each other or not.
@anonymouscommentor411
@anonymouscommentor411 3 ай бұрын
@@mommy2librasI think you're like the other person and misunderstood the OP. The OP is saying that if you cheat on your partner, then you weren't in a happy relationship at that specific time. You can't be actively in a mutually loving and fulfilling relationship and simultaneously be willing to cheat with anyone who asks. Those two things are contradictory behaviours.

The earliest known trousers were silken "harem" trousers, worn by women across Asia and north Africa. Still popular to this day, far from clinging to the figure, these are traditionally very baggy. Such trousers were worn by women in those regions for all the millennia the populace of one tiny region of the western Mediterranean were wearing long robes, which would eventually evolve into dresses, while dictating that a man shall not wear that pertaining to a woman, and vice versa.

Everytime I hear the pronoun argument I laugh at the ignorance. 90% of English pronouns don't even relate to gender. So saying we shouldn't have pronouns means taking away words like I, You, somebody, everybody, etc. Edit: According to what I looked up it seems like there's even more pronouns than I thought and they're broken up into seven categories: the personal pronoun, the demonstrative pronoun, the interrogative pronoun, the relative pronoun, the indefinite pronoun, the reflexive pronoun, and the intensive pronoun. Apparently there's hundreds of pronouns in the English language and about 80 of them are gender related. Fun little facts.

Also, the general template of the flag is literally the war flag of the Third Reich, AND, also, there's an eagle holding a swastika (that's the most Nazi shit ever), and the Iron Cross (which is not necessarily Nazi, it's more of a Prussian Kingdom/German Empire thing in general, but swastika + Iron Cross = big Nazi energy). The BDSM one just made me laugh tbh. As someone in that community, the partner I have now (who is the only person I’ve dated also in the community) is so much more respectful and good about boundaries than any other person I’ve been with. Before we did ANYTHING, they had me sit down and explicitly tell them what I was uncomfortable with so that they wouldn’t cross me at all. Plus we switch dominance around so it’s definitely not true that men want to be the top all the time. There are plenty of times when my partner has just wanted to be the bottom and engage in gentle play.

Bdsm is way more about respect than people (especially this person) might think. The participants respect each other's boundaries, red zones and safety words. It's also very much about trust. You trust your partner(s) enough to do these things that in other scenarios could be considered abusive. And trust that all participants feel safe with one another. It is a deep bond, rooted in trust and respect. I've met my fair share of "vanilla guys" who have had little to none respect for women. With that said, of course it is possible for someone with an interest in bdsm to lack respect. I have spoken to a few doms/sadist's (hetero men in this case) who basically praise and are in awe of their female partner for letting them do these things. A serious sadist always has the masochist's safety in mind and would stop before doing actual harm. Don't forget, it's about mutual pleasure. Consider it a role play if that makes it easier. Warning: oversharing here, but relevant... I've experienced sessions where the sadist had to call it quits because they were too uncomfortable with the amount of pain they were inflicting. Remember, everyone involved in a proper bdsm session is aware of the safety word, has the right to stop it at any given moment and has given their consent. I'm usually not very open about my preference, but I feel that the stigma has to end. Wishing you all a beautiful day ❤ Love from Sweden

Big agree! 🙌 I am definitely the sub/masochist and my partner is a fantastic example of a dom/sadistic partner. [For us] so much of the experience involves mental games/play. My partner has a great phrase he shared with me…something like “the masochist says ‘punish me’ and the sadist says ‘no’” and I feel like that is quite fitting for our dynamic. Oh a whim I made little punch cards for him to use when I am being naughty (usually for incredibly silly things) and he has teasingly told me he is going to use one of the cards to “really” punish me…by having me do a household chore instead of any other kind of “punishment” 😆 LMAO

As a woman who is deeply into BDSM, I can assure you that it is entirely consensual between all parties involved. It's about trust, at its deepest level, and feeling secure enough with your partner to give them control over you. In many regards, the submissive is actually the one with the most control over the situation, as they can say "no" to anything the dominant brings up, if they aren't okay with it. BDSM is a bonding experience, and it allows submissives and dominants to explore their likes and dislikes in a safe and controlled environment. I am Evelyn, and thank you for coming to my TED talk.

As someone who watched one parent abuse the other, and faced a lot of abuse myself, I don't believe in "making it work" if the problems aren't being addressed or can't be resolved. I believe in trying, totally. But I also believe in the healing power of walking away before it gets toxic. If a marriage has gotten to the point where my partner is cheating (which as a poly person is not letting me know who they sleep with, or hiding who they sleep with, or sleeping with someone who has caused harm to me), then we should've stopped a while back. I care more about my partner's happiness than keeping something going just because it's -been- going. If the two are incompatible situations, I'm not letting us enter into a miserable abusive relationship for the sake of longevity.

Not that all folks respect boundaries in a play, but that’s the grounds for BDSM; sane, safe, and consensual. I think this dude read 50 Shades, and thought that’s what BDSM is, when… no. It’s not. Plus, do you not understand that men can be on the receiving end of BDSM as… well, you know. All sides have to consent, otherwise it’s assault. Coercion isn’t apart of BDSM, force isn’t apart of it. It’s such profound ignorance of what BDSM actually is. I’m pretty used to people not understanding the importance of consent in kink considering how terrible the kink representation in our culture generally is, but for some reason the assumption that BDSM follows strict gender norms like that is really getting to me. Maybe it’s the fact that that assumption was never even addressed- it was just taken as a given and even the comments that were pushing back didn’t say anything about it. Of course, you can’t expect too much from the cesspool that is FDS, so maybe my hopes were a bit too high there lol.

I also think it’s possible that someone who cheats has already given up on the relationship/their partner, and it was their responsibility to either communicate their issues or leave BEFORE they decided to cheat. @@-c3202EXACTLY I am not interested in making it work with someone that would cheat rather than communicate! That's a dealbreaker! Are people not allowed to see cheating as a dealbreaker in their longterm monogamous relationships without being seen as "giving up" now? Sounds like logic from people that put up with poor treatment being moralized as an excuse to themselves more than anything else. Also: leaving me instead of cheating would be more respectful of me and the relationship as a whole! "Giving up" before it gets ugly is sometimes all you can do. If you respect marriage, you need respect that not all marriages can last in a healthy way. Obviously you don't get married wanting to divorce but the mental gymnastics people pull trying to moralize having completely reasonable boundaries/expectations in relationships is so twisted. No bro, women saying "then he can leave" on a video about how men rationalize cheating isn't showing anything about women giving up you're just expecting people put up with unacceptable behavior for the sake of staying married.

You could find someone who treats you better. 3 curiosity = This is in no way shape or form a reason to cheat on someone and using it as an excuse tells a lot. 4 you let yourself go = What does that even mean to a person. There are so many instances where they got a little bigger and are suddenly the grossest thing on earth. The term ''let yourself go'' always correlates to ''I don't find you attractive anymore'' and its bull. He knew what he was doing when he did this. A lot of men want the best out of a woman and if they don't always give the best they can at all times then they "Let themselves go" It's not a thing with young people either. They realize more often than not that they should, could, and would have better and to not have half-formed excuses. They just take less crap. It should be up to the women in the relationship. If they have a problem speak on it. We cant beam into their heads to see what's wrong. If you hate the relationship so much that you want to cheat leave but don't blame the person because you decided to take a different route instead of talking about your feelings. Even if you were with a person for a long time it all still applies. If a person is treating you so bad in a marriage. Who cares how long you were together for, leave. My son is colorblind so I've seen firsthand how bothersome it can be for the individual that suffers from the affliction. Personally, it intrigues me, I'd like to see what he sees around himself if even only temporarily. However he would gladly give it away permanently if he could so that he could see normally. Red tinted glasses help him to differentiate colors that normally get mixed up for him but it's still not the same. There is some advantage to it though which he does pride himself in. He can see shade differences in any type of color, even white, that is practically invisible to people whom see on the ordinary spectrum. That ability to make out different shades really comes through at night because it allows the individual to make out the different shades far more clearly. It's not like perfect night vision but it saves you a lot of stubbed toes or getting startled by stepping on the cat's tail on a bathroom break at night. As a brief aside; In the second world war the US Army scrounged for well educated, colorblind individuals to analyze black & white aerial photographs due to their ability to see through the clutter of trees, camo, etc. to what might be hidden in the images. This again relates to their sensitivity to different shades.

30:00 About the cheating. Okay, you know what? I was that person. The person who believed you could fix it with putting in the effort. But my partners never wanted that. They never wanted to put in the effort or fix anything. They realized it was over, and they cheated and when they did, they had already made up their mind. I suggested fixing it. I suggested working on the flaws. But they disliked me as a person and partner and didn't have the guts to say so. One even admitted to not wanting to ever change from his attitude of his partner being a mum who does everything for him (I suggested splitting housework, he never complied, and I ended up being coerced into doing everything.) So...No. It's not true that no one believes in marriage anymore. Or relationships. What is true to me, is that you gotta let go what you gotta let go.

Videos stating the "Why so and so Cheats" is telling younger adults that you need to make your marriage work no matter what. We have miserable grandparents and great grandparents because staying married for the sake of society is not healthy. Marriage is now a business contract more than love and family. As someone who married an abuser ( didnt show till after wedding), take your time to find yourself, the one you want to be with and marry. Dont rush and if you feel a certain way that makes you stop and think, take that time to think and make sure you are ready. And if after all that and its not working, its ok to part ways.

@Revelwoodie
@Revelwoodie 2 жыл бұрын
Marriage has always been a "business contract," actually. If you just want to spend your life with someone you love, you don't need marriage to do that. Marriage is a legal institution that formalizes certain financial obligations, so that people have the security to be able to make decisions they wouldn't want to make without a stable partnership. Like having children, or buying a house. And yes, that does mean that people get "trapped" in unhealthy relationships. It's not the marriage itself that traps you, or anything to do with "society," it's the financial commitments you've taken on, like raising children, homeownership, or other major assets. And perhaps even more importantly, the sacrifices one partner may have made to facilitate those choices, like leaving their career to raise children, or investing an inheritance in shared assets. If you've made a sacrifice like that, you can't just leave. Not without serious financial consequences. Yes, people may end up "trapped." And that is exactly what marriage is for - to "trap" each other, so you can make those big shared commitments without fear. If you already know that you don't want children and aren't interested in pursuing homeownership, you don't need to get married. EDIT: And thank god you got out, by the way.

That cheating one is honestly ridiculous. People are always more reactionary online. Looking at Tiktok comments on a purposefully ragebaiting video and going "this is a problem with society as a whole" is stupid. The idea that people don't care about marriage anymore is a talking point used by people that want to make getting a divorce harder. That would be very dangerous for reasons I don't think I need to get into. I can guarantee 99% of the people in those comments, if married, would put some effort into helping with the marriage to make it work, assuming the dissatisfied partner communicated with them. If the dissatisfied partner went straight for cheating instead of trying to work things out, that's another story. I honestly don't know why The Click left that point in the video unchallenged. The only good points he made were about people not watching the whole video and the other video not getting as much traction. Everything else was BS. I'm honestly really frustrated about this.

You do have a point. Someone who is or was married would point out how a marriage actually functions instead of making a conclusion from the internet where everyone is anonymous and extreme. When he said "Nobody wants to put the work" it completley confused me. Definitely either wrong conclusion or wrong type of experiment.

Honestly when the video started with "so I did a social experiment" that was immediately a big red flag that there was going to be a bad conclusion at the end. 29:45 this person is silly. If a relationship does not work then it is good to break up. Staying together because you "care about marriage" leads to abusive situations. Cheating in a monogamous relationship also risks exposing people to STIs without the consent of knowledge of the person being cheated on. The thing about marriage being more than a long term relationship is also strange. There are places where LGBT+ people can't even get married. The implication that their relationships are less significant is problematic.
@Alicein4711
@Alicein4711 2 жыл бұрын
Even with straight people, it's entirely possible to have a relationship just as meaningful as a legal marriage without that marriage taking place. My own brother has been with his partner for nearly twenty years now, they have a teenage daughter, and I would never consider their relationship to be in any way lesser to a marriage. (As an aside, some things he's said have really lead me to rethink our society's use of the word "bastard" as well.) It is true, though, that it is if anything even more problematic when you start adding LGBTQ+ people (like me) into the equation, because of the way our society treats us and has historically treated us. We've only had the federal right to get married in the US for seven years now, and people still frequently view even those legal marriages as less significant or real than straight ones. (Less and less all the time, thankfully, but still.) I also disliked the way that guy, while ostensibly saying that marriages require work on both sides, definitely had a tone to what he was saying that sounded like both parties were equally to blame for one party cheating. There can be things that lead up to one party choosing that, sure, but it's still that person's choice.

If someone says “it’s a 50/50 if I’d beat a moose in hand to hand combat” is someone who couldn’t beat probably 90% of the things on their list. If my car got into hand to hand combat with a moose my car would lose 8/10 times and it would be a draw (both loose) the other 2.

Just to clarify, the tweet at 12:20 was made by my friend who is an expert virologist, professor, and writes for a number of journalistic outlets (funny to see her here!)... she doesn't believe the thing about witches, haha, the woman who sued does. And Angie is very snarky in the best way.
