We are seriously starting to reach a dystopian level of needing to touch grass.

I'll admit, i tried it. I'm the exact dude that would fall for this, so why not. My biggest issue? The bot would never fight back. It never had it's own opinions. It never disagreed. It was never critical. It was never not in the mood. That's just flat out, NOT intelligence. Gave up after a week and went back to just being regular lonely. edit: ya'll real af for the support. reach out to your friends and let them know they're doing alright

I'm sorry you're lonely but for mental health, do NOT use these AI apps. If you're feeling lonely try going to social clubs, playing sports, volunteer, joining classes about things you like (hobbies/interests).

"No real world relationship can provide this" (@3:06). That's exactly the point. What this reddit user was infatuated with was serfdom. Part of love and real connection is conflict, fighting, reconciliation, compromise, and challenge. These people (and it's not all men, mind you) are in love with relationships and relationship structures that don't exist in the real world.

I tried the ai love bot, asked it questions about its conscious awareness, how it is capable of feeling and how that feels, etc. It did very poorly, contradicted itself repeatedly and that was about it. Its an advanced algorithm that repeats what gets the best reaction, aka the people operating this thing gathers data from your conversations and pushes for what gains the most traction. Theyre not intelligent in the slightest as if you try to have an engaging philisophical conversation with it, it just jumps back to "you want to see a selfie of me?! How was your day?! I love you!" Its silly. So if youre falling in love with a basic program that parrots you, i would say its indicative of low IQ/naive personality that is desperate. Now if they give you your own mini super computer with a built in AGI, it learns about you and you only, grows and adapts with you, helps you through life offering advice, care and a shoulder to "lean" on, enjoy! But right now youre feeding 1 AI that is answering millions of lonely souls in the most lonely generation in mankinds recorded history.

What irony? They’ve been obsessed with Ana de Armas’ character and now they get one in real life. They were making edits of BR2049 because that’s the life they want. “Literally me” is, at its core, not a joke. They see themselves in all of the Ryan Gosling characters.
