We have reached the final match in the group stages of the Lord of the Jank tourney. In this old school Magic the Gathering tournament, players are challenged to brew a deck under the $200 and each card cannot be worth more than $20. In this game, my zombies will have to take on a powerful Erhnam Burn'em brew piloted by Emiel the Blessed. With four Ball Lightnings, four Chain Lightnings and four Lightning Bolts, this deck is lightning fast! Will my undead army be turned into undead toast or can I find a way to steal the victory and earn my place in the Top 8?

This tournament celebrates budget Old School Magic the Gathering decks. Each deck in this tournament has a value of $200 or less. Is it possible to brew competitive on a budget? Of course, it is!

What is Lord of the Jank? Lord of the Jank is a budget Old School tournament. Each wizard brews a deck on a budget of $200 with cards from the sets released in 1993 and 1994 with the exception of Fallen Empires. Re-prints are allowed as long as it is same art and same frame. For pricing, we used MCM low and looked at the cheapest re-print version of a card that has the same art and frame. For example, if a player includes a copy of the Erhnam Djinn, we look at the price of an Erhnam Djinn from Chronicles in Poor condition. The current lowest price on this is 0,02 ct on MCM.

Sweet tournament and game Timmy. You asked for input - I think perhaps the zombies could would really used some more drain life in this matchup. When I play mono-wars I love 3-4 drain life against burn- but red just seems a rough matchup for black no matter what one does lol

I agree, I'm also going to make an "improved version" that takes me away from the limitations of revised only. It'll stay underpowered and mono black, but I'll add some zombies from other 93/94 expansions, including Cyclopean Mummy and the Fallen.

Love the zombie deck why don’t you play the fallen, it is also a zombie and almost a guaranteed 1 damage atleast a turn

Well... i decided to go for a revised only brew, but I’ll def revisit the idea and build a deck with cards from other 93/94 sets. Cyclopian Mummy os another one as a possible include.

Excellent games. Regrowth on the bolt was definitely unexpected. Also you have a goof. Time stamp for games is 5:15 and not the 8 that you show.

Can you tell me why channel + fireball isnt played in most of the erhnam burnem builds? Isnt this a must habe combinatin nearly every red green deck?

It's all about what the deck wants to do and how channel can help. Yes, channel is great when you have an X burn spell in hand (and when you're ahead in life), but when you don't it helps little. You have mana dorks that help you play your big creatures like Erhnam in T2 or T3, you have chains and bolts that are cheap to cast and super efficient dmg dealers. Same can be said about the Giant Growths as they also function as a semi-bolt in many cases. All in all, it's just not that needed and takes an extra slot.

This was a one time event. Occasionally, I organise tournaments for the Patrons to thank them for their support and this was one of them. I organised an FE and re-print tournament prior to this one.
