Rick Derringer: thanks for posting. There was a group called The Jokers. They were laying it down. Cheers! 🥨

Rick Derringer and Dickie Betts, two fantastic legends, greatly influnced me in my young life. Dickie and the ABB were the pinnacle of a rock orchestra. They even were praised in the jazz magazine DOWNBEAT back in the day. As a personal note, I met Rick at a small club in Manhattan (Manny's Carwash ?) when I just let myself into backstage. Far from treating me as an intruder Rick treated me as a guest. A real decent guy, and as we say in NYC a REAL MENSCH! Thank you Rick for all the wonderful memories from the bottom of my heart! ROCK ON BROTHER

I'm trying to figure this out: My late older brother. We saw the McCoys back in '66 (Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, NYC) while they were on tour with The Stones. 4 years later, my brother was on tour with Jimi Hendrix (he was playing guitar for Buddy Miles at the time), and performed with Johnny Winter at the 'jam' session after the funeral service for Jimi. Then 6 years later, my brother recorded an album with Richard Gottehrer. Then 16 years after that, my now late older brother was invited over to Keith Richards' house (along with his guitar). He ended up spending most of the 90s and so on there. He arranged the Buddy Miles' version of The Allman Brothers' "Dreams" for Buddy's "Them Changes". The following year, '71, I saw a live performance of Edgar Winter's White Trash at Staples High School, Westport, Ct. He performed 'Dying To Live' that evening. You were there, too.

Oh Ricky Ricky Ricky dear...wth? That's no "Sittin By The Pool", my man. 🤣🤘🩷💘 Always much love, brotha. Dickey was as much of a rock GOD as YOU, and he is greatly missed already... from FL to Cali, baby ... 💔🎸😩💔 {And I still remember driving my underage arse down here from Detroit...with truckers honking at the sign in tape that took up my whole hatchback window. "Horny for Californi" is what it read, sure as sheite. 😛😂) Thanks to Dickey and even moreso you, for the music that has moved me most thru this crazy life. 💋🤘⭐🤙🙏🙏 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🤘

I am not near as good as Dickey (nor you, Rick) But, I took so much inspiration from the likes of you guys! (My solo, mournful take on "Jessica" kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5DSequpha9leZIsi=zqlqawidm7vj-p09 )

Whoop depressed. I'd copied "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" and "Hot 'Lanta", etc, too. R.I.P. Dickey.
