पुणे - सख्खा साडूचे निधन झाल्यानंतर त्याच्या पार्थिवावर दोन किमी अंतरावरील स्मशानभूमीत अंत्यसंस्कार करण्यासाठी केवळ अँबुलेन्स मिळवण्यात तीन तास आणि स्मशानभूमीत दोन तास वाट पाहावी लागल्याने नगरसेवकाच्या संतापाचा उद्रेक झाला. गेली सहा महिने अनेकांना हरप्रकारे मदतीसाठी अहोरात्र झगडणाऱ्या या नगरसेवकाने विलंबाला कारणीभूत महापालिकेच्या उपयुक्ताच्या मोटारीचे ‘खळखट्याक’ करून उद्रेकाला वाट मोकळी करून दिली.
मनसेचे नगरसेवक वसंत मोरे यांच्या जवळच्या नातेवाईंकाचा रविवारी मृत्य झाला. त्यांनी उपचारासाठी पुणे महापालिकेकडून रुग्णवाहिका मिळावी यासाठी प्रयत्न केले. परंतु त्यांना वेळेमध्ये रुग्णवाहिका उपलब्ध होऊ शकली नाही. तब्बल चार तास त्यांना रुग्णवाहिकेची वाट पहावी लागली. त्यामुळे अंत्यसंस्कारांना देखील उशीर झाला. तसेच स्मशान भूमीत अंत्यसंस्कार करण्यासाठी देखील वेटिंगवर थांबावे लागले. मुळात भारती विद्यापीठ रुग्णालय ते कात्रज स्मशानभूमी हे अंतर अवघे एक ते दीड किलोमीटरचे आहे. एवढ्या अंतरावर जाण्यासाठी चार तास वाट पाहावी लागते. जर एका नगरसेवकाच्या कुटुंबियांची ही अवस्था असेल तर सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांचे काय होत असेल असा प्रश्न मोरे यांनी उपस्थित केला. तसेच महापालिकेच्या अधिकाऱ्यांना नागरिकांसाठी वेळेत रुग्णवाहिका व वैद्यकीय सेवा पुरविता येत नसतील तर त्यांनाही चांगल्या गाड्यांमधून फिरण्याचा अधिकार नाही असे मोरे म्हणाले.
