@@thatdamncrow9197 When I worked at olive garden making 12/hour 40+ hours a week, I made about 23~24k a year. I had a co worker with kids who was working there and another restaurant job putting in over 60 hours of work a week. He wanted to be a barber, but could not afford to leave these jobs and pay for the schooling it would take to get licensed. And even in fast food, you don't quite to get unemployment. You quit, because the work isn't worth the pay. Or the managers were horrible people. Or you found a new job doing something else. First just adjusting it every year or every other year to account for inflation is something I feel that literally everyone would agree with. Not gonna lie, I used to dream of living in America as a kid. It looked so glamorous and cool. Now, as I've learned more about how things work over there, you couldn't pay me to live there. The health care system ALONE is as heartless and cruel as it gets, never mind the shit they put their workers through and the fetishization of guns. The US is as far from the "Greatest country in the World" as it gets, yet like the UK (where I live), they have such delusions of grandeur and this weird notion that their shit doesn't stink.

@@NerdKing2nd I agree. The reason why America sounds a lot worse than I personally think it is is because the only kinds of stuff that goes go viral is the usually the bad stuff, plus some people go on the internet if not just to complain. All in all, it really depends on your own perspective if it. America is far from being the ‘greatest’ country, though there are plenty of things about it that I am very thankful and proud for, things that make people view it that way. It’s just that some people tend to take advantage of everything they get, and people who think they’re at the top or think what they have is the best tend to be cocky. Just like any other society. Fun fact: Fuck™ used to be a high-end named brand of sex, opening in the early 1600s. However, after cornering most of the market, it quickly became a genericized term - similar to what has happened to Google and Aspirin - eventually leading to them losing the trademark in 1882. Interestingly, the taboo surrounding the usage of their name began almost entirely due to an advertising campaign. After Fuck™ managed to get their name removed from dictionaries in the late 1700s, in the hopes of avoiding it becoming a generic word, their competitors at Copulation Inc® swooped in with a campaign painting Fuck™ as "too raunchy for public use", and promoting their own brands of sex in its place. After Fuck™ dissolved sometime in the early 1900s, some new brands impersonating the old have cropped up - most notably Frick™, which is still in popular use to this day.

Your Target story reminded me of my time at Walmart. I worked at one near my mom's house during the first couple months of the pandemic, and I also had a summer job lined up at a camp. I knew the training start date, but I was told it would be online, so when I started the Walmart job I told them exactly what day I would have to stop working there. They understood and kept it in their records. However, my camp announced the WEEKEND before training that it was actually going to be in-person, which meant I had to stop working about 10 days earlier than I said I would be able to. I immediately called Walmart and let them know about the complications, and made it clear that the sudden change was mostly due to the pandemic. Again, they understood, but because I was leaving earlier than I initially said, I was banned from working at that store again. Not banned entirely, just at that store, but I still think it's bullshit. Oh yeah, and the training for the camp ended up being over Zoom anyway. And the camp ended up not happening cause the county it was in never got into their Phase 2 until the end of that summer. If I had known that would happen, I wouldn't have said anything at all, and I'd still have that Walmart job.

9:33 funny how she say “slaughtering animals who don’t want to be killed”, while growing the veggies she and many vegans are eating, involve slave labor, if you are looking to be vegan for its mortality, then dont, it’s equally as messed up as slaughtering animals for their meat and bonus, wanna know how much land gets wipe out to grow your popular vegan foods? Same amount as growing beef, don’t believe me? Look up what commercial agriculture has done to local communities in poorer countries where we grow out shit because morally, veganism does as much damage morally and environmentally, just in different ways.

A really good comedian once pointed out "Look, just because it doesn't YELP when you pluck it, doesn't mean that you aren't causing it pain!" Science has proven that plants DO feel pain and respond to it, but it doesn't show it in the same we do.

The most interesting fact about the practices of US capitalism is the complete inability to consume ethically. Want a meat based diet? You have to live knowing everything you've eaten came from 5 slaughterhouses SOMEWHERE in the heart of the country who actively don't care about the health of the animals and if they could, wouldn't care about yours either. Wanna be a vegetarian or a vegan? All of your protein substitutes have been picked at the expense of slave labor in South American countries. It is designed without ethics to ensure you cannot survive without committing wage theft or contributing to uncautious slaughter of disease riddled animals who will never be treated well at the ends of their lives so long as it can be helped.

11:25 (average time of post I’m commenting on) While I agree that it is a stupid idea to fight a wolf, especially if it’s only one wolf (as the question is posing). If a wolf is by itself, it means it’s either sick, or humans had a hand in causing it (probably by feeding it because humans don’t understand you shouldn’t do that.) however, wolves are intelligent, and HARDLY ever attack humans, even if the wolves are in packs, and wolves understand the pecking order of things. You don’t need a gun to beat a wolf in a fight. A big stick will suffice. Even just having the big stick in your hand will deter the wolf. If it attacks you, you hit it with the stick. If it doesn’t stop after a few times being hit with the stick, then it probably is sick, and you’ll either have to hit harder or move to an area with more people who can help. I am not an expert on wolves, I do know that there are a lot of misconceptions about them. I also know enough to confidently say that most, if not all, of these misconceptions are just that, misconceptions. If your tactic against a wolf is a strongly worded letter of condemnation, then you need to reevaluate how you go about things. This comment is probably a mess, I apologize

@@avishevin1976 I was referring to the reply about it. My point was that it's not the gf complaining about not getting a free penny but rather about getting a whole pile of coins back. The shop made it out to be about missing out on a penny and I don't think that was the issue.
