The lower reading and math scores are something that I take issue with. Nowadays, there are an increasing number of children who should be failing and held back for lower scores, but they aren't. They aren't because schools are expected to be successful and are punished when students don't do as well with things like cutting funding. I would argue though that passing someone who is doesn't deserve it is doing the kid a disservice, and is ultimately going to harm the kid in the long run. What if the kid doesn't know how to read and is about to graduate? Imagine being in a job interview and asking someone who seems promising "Do you have any weaknesses?" and the reply is: "I'm illiterate." WHO THE HECK WOULD WANT TO HIRE THIS PERSON? If they're held back, it sucks, but they get the help they deserve. Admittedly there's a lot about this issue I'm still unsure of (although I have a few teacher friends who have helped paint a grander picture to me), but if you know anything of substance about this issue, don't be afraid to reply to this.

Students of color in those areas have lower scores because of the culture, Their parents care about their grade less and they care about their grade less. Their parents/guardians are also more likely to be uneducated. This means they don’t study or learn at home so they fall behind. The falling behind can also cause the students to become apathetic about their grade. They don’t want to hold back the students because that makes them angry.

They complained the school thing for the specialized high schools in new york that you have to take a test to get in to. They were saying it's racist that black/hispanic students weren't getting into these schools so they were going to lower the requirement scores, instead of actually fixing the nuanced subject as to why black/hispanic students tend to perform worse. It doesnt fix anything. It looks like a solution but it never is.
@JackTheBlindOrganistAndCrepey9 ай бұрын
Because actually fixing the root of the problem is too expensive and hard. This requires a whole renovation to previously established system in place. Look at affirmative action and how it didn't really offer a long term solution and now after it is discarded there's still no solutions in place.

I am going to say this as bluntly and as briefly as I possibly can: Cuties is not about being artful. Cuties is not about culture. Cuties is not about feminism. Cuties is not about childhood. Cuties is not about coming of age. Cuties is not about making commentary. Cuties is about girls my brother's age twerking. From what I understand about The Coffin of Andy and Leyley (I'm not interested in playing it), Inc*st is very likely what got people's attention, either as an "ooh" or a "wtf" and, according to someone who replied to my comment asking why people actually played it, it was because, at least for some people, there was actually an interesting story. I read about it and the story does seem very intricate or at least interesting. I haven't seen Cuties, and I don't think I ever will because I'm not someone who makes money by reviewing films, nor am I horny for pre-teens, but the positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes all say that it's about the struggle of young girls, but there are most certainly better movies that convey that idea without sexualizing children.

Theyd leave him hungry, beaten, and alone in a dirty maggot filled apartment that the boyfriend didn't even rent. To top it off, not only did she agree to lie about it, going along with it, there were MULTIPLE warnings givin to officers, cps,etc and they did nothing. no matter what that "mother" says she did not care for him. What mother not only ignores their child's cries for help but beats and laughs when the same kid is straving, but alouds them to die before going like "oh NOW this is serious"
