You don't need more than three friends for DnD. As a DM you could run a game for a single player. The Essentials Kit even has a few paragraphs on doing so and incorporates something called "sidekicks". NPCs travelling with your party to fill roles you don't have filled with your party's setup. The sourcebook "Tasha's Cauldron of Everything" fleshes the sidekick thing out more. Start playing DnD, people. If anyone has questions regarding starting DnD and/or playing the first few sessions, ask away. I recently started DMing, but have been following DnD content (CriticalRole, Dimension20, Runesmith, XPToLevel3, Davvy Chappy and loooots of others) for more than 4 years now.
@MadamFoogie2 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more with your advice! "Tasha's" is pretty great. And frankly, big groups in a DnD campaign aren't something I'd recommend for a new player. Trust me, I work in a comic shop, and I've recently seen a nerd parade come through with like twenty players of varying experience. We had to boot them out of the store, because they were there from open to close. Even after being accommodated by the shop for a fat twelve hours, they still hadn't gotten to a good stopping point! When you have more than, say, ten people, every session turns into a total snoozefest. The story line draaaaaaags, because all these PCs take ages to finish their turns during combat. Don't even get me started on the messiness of attempting a good role play with a honking big group-- you'll never get anything done. Too many cooks. No, a nice, tight group is the best way to start. My current party only consists four, plus the illustrious DM. We can breeze through a typical weekly session in under three hours, no problem. I find that it's less stressful that way, and everyone gets to accomplish what they want. Plus it makes it far easier on the DM, who has more breathing room for their own agendas. [Also, I'm subbed to literally all of the channels you mentioned. Get out of my head!!]
@ThorsShadow2 жыл бұрын
@@MadamFoogie Damn. I'd hate having to DM for 20 people. Like, it's awesome, if so many people want to play DnD together. But, as you said, you don't get anything done. I feel like the maximum number of players per group should be 6 to 8 and only that, if everyone is reasonably experienced and knows what they're doing and is reasonably comfortable with the rules of the game (taking CriticalRole as an example). That big group should have probably separated into 3 to 5 smaller groups. I am currently DMing for a group of 4 people. Only one person there has played DnD in the past (the guy played 3.5 extensively, so he knows how to play in general). For our next session, one player's wife asked if she could join. Which I am of course fine with. Very much so. As I said above, more people playing DnD in general is awesome. A newbie DM (me, although I have a lot of theoretical knowledge) and three/four completely new players with one experienced one... we usually get to a good stopping point after three to five hours. Which is a perfect timeframe in my opinion. And my players are getting the ropes of the game very quickly, which is really cool to see. And: Everyone of them is staying in character and they roleplay incredibly well. Did not expect that. We're all having a ton of fun every session.
@MadamFoogie2 жыл бұрын
@@ThorsShadow Your game sounds super fun and cozy! I hope it works out. I'm all about RP, so that's great to hear! =D As far as that sad massive game went, the DM specifically asked for that day in the game room, and seemed really excited about having so many PCs at one time. He'd been working to build a huge battle for ages. I totally applaud his ambition, but it was misled. Bit off way more than he could chew. It was a continental war sort of scenario, so that's why he wanted the massive scale. Still, the group broke off into cliques after that clusterf*ck. Now they've developed smaller warlord factions! There may be another epic battle soon for that campaign, but my store sure as heck ain't hosting it again. XD

I’d like it if they did a serial killer drama from the perspective of the victims. Like, each season is a historical killer, but you don’t know who. The season starts with a bunch of seemingly random people just going about their day to day lives, but at the end of every episode, one of them dies and it keeps going like that until the police catch the killer, who was one of the people in the group. And the very last episode, is showing when and where each victim met the killer and became a target. They would have to find obscure killers and do their best to say names as little as possible so viewers can’t cheat very easily and look things up. But it would be fun to start a civil war in the family every week trying to figure out who the killer is.

Especially if you go through the effort of reassembling the frozen ingredients before microwaving, to avoid the bread getting soggy. I also like to add spicy pickles, a little cayenne pepper, and lightly butter the muffins with margarine. Spent about two months straight eating just those alone for dinner. When you work in the food industry, the last thing you want is to get off your shift, and then have to cook for yourself. Screw that.

Managing your personal life and keeping things stable should be more important), or there's drama outside of the sessions and everything just dies off. Plus, it's just really hard to find new people to play with, since a lot of people still think it's just too "nerdy" to enjoy. Sad times.

How to make a breakfast sandwich: 1) toast English muffin halves, don't use buns or bagels, use English muffins, biscuits are an acceptable substitute. 2) heat a small to medium non stick skillet to medium high heat, use a nob of butter to grease the pan, place a biscuit cutter the size of the English muffin in pan 3) turn heat to medium low and immediately crack an egg into ring, cook in ring until bottom of egg is cooked, then cover and turn to low and steam top for about two to three minutes or until cooked to perfection 4) use the butter remaining in pan to butter the English muffin halves, remove egg from ring and place on bottom English muffin half, add cheddar (don't argue with me on that, just get cheddar or I will find you and force feed you Cheshire cheddar), top with other English muffin half and enjoy I also occasionally add a little mayo to my breakfast sandwich. Hope these instructions help, breakfast sandwiches are very easy and quick to make so now you'll never need to buy a frozen one or get one of those stupid breakfast sandwich Makers. You can add meat if you want, but the flavours of a good breakfast sandwich are so rich that bacon or sausage kind of overpowers it, so the most I'll add is turkey or sliced pork tenderloin
