Mark Narrations When my grandmother died, everyone gathered at her house after the funeral. My sister and i had helped make all the arrangements, so after the burial, we went back to the funeral home to get all the plants to take to my grandmothers so everyone could get theirs. We stopped at my moms to check on her, so were running about 30 minutes late getting back with the plants. My aunts actually called my mother, accusing us of stealing all the plants! I could not believe the way these women, that i had always looked up to, acted after just burying their mother. It was ridiculous.

Story One: I can DEFINITELY relate! My sister, The Viking (previously The Misery, bit too Freudian with the initials) had sole POA regarding my parents.DO NOT DO THIS! Dad had a degree of dementia from the '00s but Mum went full Alzheimer's really fast around '12. They bought their retirement house early '80s in the area they wanted to retire and grow old in. Yeah, that didn't happen. M&D needed residential care (Dad had mobility and psych issues as well) and after a couple of dumps, The Viking moved them into a place in the country town she lives in. (I have to say it's a lovely facility, just not where they wanted to be). They NEVER wanted to live there, they wanted back. Then she sells their house, for almost $100k under what they had been told, before she 'did it up' and took SO many things that would have meant SO much sentimentality to my other sister and I. She (other sister) loved some silver dessert spoons and my Mum and I shared a love of kitchen utensils, the odder the better. So, The Viking: she raped my parents of their autonomy and pillaged their house. Dad passed in '15, Mum's in endstage dementia and I haven't seen her in years as due to mobility issues I can't physically make the drive to the country town, but easy to make it to the old area. Definitively getting a forensic accountant onto her records. My parents earnt that money, they should have spent it as they liked. But The Viking has always had an entitlement issue about it. She deserves it somehow and resents my sister and I as we get in the way of her getting it all.

When you have kids they want to glitter things. Once glitter crosses your threshold you can never get rid of it, you will keep finding it in the oddest places for the rest of time!!. Kind of like those tiny rubber bands the people who wear braces use. Those things (one of my nieces had braces) could go flying across a room, only to turn up months later behind a book, under a dresser or in a shoe.

Oh man, I am so sorry that you have to go through that awful stuff. Yeah, the administrative stuff is so stressful. I had to do it for my mom when she died. So now, I literally tell everyone: have a will, have a power of attorney and make sure that the executor of that knows your wishes. Also, in the UK, (when I did it) you can print them off the internet and as long as its signed by witnesses that are outside the situation. (I used my moms friend and her neighbor).

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad in November of last year after battling diabetes, and liver and kidney failure. My mother told me he had passed when I went out grocery shopping with my boyfriend. It took everything in me not to fall to the floor and sob. I guess the only thing I can give to you is that when it happens you will feel numb and when everyone is crying around you, you'll feel like you can't cry and you have to act strong for everyone. I felt I had different personalities, one minute I was on the floor crying, the next I was making jokes and trying to cheer up my siblings with McDonald's and gifts. At the end of every day, you have to tell yourself that they're okay and don't have to suffer any longer.

Aww bless you mate, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I lost my Mum a couple of years back and felt exactly as you described, alone I was in floods of tears from the simplest of things like smelling my Mums perfume then around family I felt strong like I've never felt before. Hell when my Mum died, I helped carry her out of the house as they were struggling to get her down the stairs. A year later another close family member died right in front of me from pancreatic cancer, seizure, she was talking normally and bam just like that. Then the rest of the family came walking around the corner just as she was taking her last breaths, that's what killed me. Been a wild couple of years Shit, I'm rambling. Haha apologies Insoniart :)

1) OP, sorry for your loss, and having such an awful relative. Dad's plan was brilliant. Mark ... My sister and I were in our 20's when mom died suddenly from an accident. As she had left no instructions regarding her personal property we took turns choosing items we wanted to keep. Older sister picked an item, I picked and item, and so on. The remainder of her things were given away or donated. So no strife at that time beyond her loss.

Aww Mark, I'm so sorry :(. We went through some messed up stuff with my fiance's late grandmother and aunt. They both passed around the same time, but neither were particularly friendly people. Especially to their family. They were the types who were obsessed with status, and let's face it, we very much don't have that lol. After all the cards were turned, three people were trying to RIP their wills off (two for one, and one for the other) and his grandmothers' late current husband (she kept marrying them then they would pass away. Although unlikely due to any fault of hers) almost certainly killed her, and not only also stole from her estate, but he also got away with all of it. Even if it wasn't by his hands, which is still a possibility, she was going senile and he refused to take care of her and made her take care of him. She was brought to a home multiple times, and he just kept dragging her back out. As for the aunt: A downright criminal of a woman had befriended her after she had found out she had cancer, then tried to fight against her family getting anything. I don't remember the exact story but that one made it to court, fought by the person with the largest portion of the will, my brother in law. Thankfully he won, because he has a full time, super stressful job, a near preteen daughter, and a disabled wife who is paralyzed from the waist down, both of whom he cares for every moment he's not at work. People suck unfortunately. On the plus side, although I don't know you, I'm uncannily good at reading people (to the point where I people believe I'm psychic) and I can tell you're a good person. You care more than most, and you wear it a little on your sleeve. That also means that you know what's right. Don't be hesitant to stand up for yourself, and for what is right ♡♡.

My grandmother had a habit of asking family what they wanted when she died, and they started putting their names in masking tape and attaching it to the items they wanted. When my nan asked me what I wanted, I told her I wanted nothing. My brother-in-law (at the time) tried to take some things that my dad had bought for her (his mum), and got annoyed when told my dad would be getting those. When she went into a nursing home due to dementia, one of my aunt's went to my nans and started taking stuff, left the front door open and told people who lived in the units next to my nan, to help themselves, this was while she was still alive, don't think anyone in the family got much of anything other than that aunt, after my nan died.

He'd had his left foot amputated below the knee thanks to a sore on the bottom of his foot that never healed and he contracted MRSA right into the bones of his foot. So when I moved in, I helped care for him until he went back to work and he gave me a place to live. I began doing all the shopping, picking up all of his prescriptions, and instead of his regular diet of fish sticks, chicken nuggets and frozen veggie medley? I started to cook healthy, home made meals for him. Which I could tell he LOVED having a hot, REAL meal ready for him when he got home after working 13+ hours a day, 6 days a week. Even though he truly LOVED his job. I did begin to work and he said as long as I had a steady, full-time job, took care of my own bills, like cell phone, gas, car insurance, I didn't need to pay rent. We became quite close, venting to each other about our days, laughing, watching TV and the Utah Jazz play basketball or the Denver Broncos, (I'm from Colorado originally and my dad was born in Minnesota), and the Minnesota Vikings play American football. I even warmed him up to the idea of letting me rescue a kitten, Elise, who is now 11! Anyway, I'm the youngest of three daughters, but the only one in state. My oldest was in Ohio and the middle sister is in Oregon with our moms. When my dad got some news he didn't like at work early November 2014, I didn't know it at the time, but he'd given up. Stopped taking his insulin. I made him a pot roast on Saturday, coaxing him out of his room to try to eat it and I know he took insulin that night. He was perkier Sunday. But didn't go to work Monday or Tuesday, which was super unusual for him to miss work. Then early Wednesday morning, my then boyfriend was getting up for work and saw my dad acting strangely, but had only ever seen low blood sugar episodes. Never high. So He tried giving my dad orange juice and a piece of his emergency candy. But when he kept doing scarily odd things, he woke me and I checked his blood sugar and it read as "HI". We called 911 and it was still too high for even their machine. By the time we arrived at the DR after my dad did, he was a bit more lucid, (they got his blood sugar read as 1100! He was suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis), and said "Oh, there you are!" Then went immediately into a seizure, vomited, which he also aspirated, and had a heart attack. They ushered us out while they stabilized him. He was in the ICU for 7 days and I was told he was brain dead. My oldest sister had flown in, which was a nightmare. She acted like Dad was already dead. Kept asking about a will, his life insurance policies, 401k and only acted like she cared about the money. Now, she's literally only talked to my dad on birthdays and maybe sometimes on father's day and Christmas. But definitely if she ever needed money. That previous summer, she'd asked for a $15,000 loan! Ugh! She kept trying to get me and my boyfriend to fight and it was just awful. My mom called her and finally told her to go back home. Oh, and she'd kept my dad's credit card number from the summer, too. THAT'S how she could afford to fly out, by stealing his credit card number! Thankfully through dialysis, he was able to clear his mind! But he wasn't strong. Went from that hospital from Nov 14, 2014-Jan, 2015 to a Long Term Acute Care Facility until February. Then he went to a rehabilitation hospital, he stayed until May. But when he came home, it was like he'd given up. Not doing his rehab exercises, not wanting to get out of bed, nothing. Then the outpatient procedure for his fistula came on June 8, 2015 and he was having a hard time shaking off the anesthesia. On the way home, not even two blocks 21st from the hospital, he made a funny sound and stopped bearing. Called 911 again and back to the hospital. He was admitted and two days later they were taking hospice. I Todd him I'd support him no matter his decision. He said he was tired and his body was tired. He chose hospice, so I told him I wanted him home with me. He'd paid off his mortgage, left me his house, my older son his car, everything else was split between us three girls. He left me as the person in charge of the estate. My oldest sister flew out again as he became weaker. He died in my arms on July 2, 2015. Literally that night my sister was walking through the house pointing at things saying she wanted them and got angry when I'd say it was a birthday gift to me. Things got super ugly and my m.p.h.and I had to clean up a lot of hee emotional messes after she flew home. She was bipolar and in a major manic phase while here and abusing her valium. dealing with her and the estate was a NIGHTMARE! She kept calling the attorney and costing us MORE money, she kept accusing me of keeping money from her when she knew we had to wait for certain things. It got to the point where I refused to take her calls, txt or even emails. Our moms and sister begged her to stop calling the attorney over frivolous things since it was costing $60-100 each time she babbled on!. But when my son died suddenly 8 months after my dad, I just couldn't handle it anymore. My mom and her wife took over. She, my oldest sister, didn't even call, text it email me about my son's death. Test was the last straw for me with her. I never spoke to her again. She committed suicide last August. Now there's so much guilt, anger and grief. So I completely understand and empathize with how ugly it can get. Plus, my dad didn't have a will until he decided on hospice. Everything almost had to go through probate. Definitely have a will and definitely talk to your loved ones, family AND friends, what your final wishes are. That's how I knew my son wanted to be cremated and not buried.💜 I'm sending much love and support to you, Mark! I wish you all the best! And definitely spend as much time as you need with your farther!💜

Thank you, Mark. I'm so glad you're making the most of it! It was the most difficult thing I've ever done both physically and emotionally, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Once he chose hospice, I was able to be his daughter again and not the hard ass, mean person trying to get him to do the rehab exercises. I would get him his favorite smoothies and sit on his bed and just chat with him. As he became non-communicative, I'd just talk to him, tell him how much I loved him, thank him for taking me in, taking care of me after my four spinal surgeries and how much I just appreciated him in general. Even though I had purchased a baby monitor to hear everything when I wasn't in his room, I found myself sitting with him quite a bit. Even my cats laid with him and snuggled him. He was a very generous man with a very big heart. I don't have much money, but try to emulate him. I wish you and your father all my best! My heart truly goes out to you! Stay strong, even through the tough days!💜 Much love! ~Ariane

Teachers/professors often do the team project assignment, rejecting any complaints about a non-worker. Some just don't care but some say it is life prep because you will have to work in college (if it's assigned in high school) or in college, or work after you graduate from uni, with non-producers. Yeah and you report it to the boss. BUT, while I hate teachers like this, I've had times in my life when I did less with school projects than the others, but I've also had times (most of the time) when I pulled my share or did more. It really isn't fair and now I'd think you could report it to that prof's dean.

Narcissist people don’t care anything about anyone. Even if the family member is dying. ( Especially if their member is dying. Because the person can’t stop them) everything is me me me and every thing belongs to me! You can’t have it, it’s mine!

I'm not proud of this, but... When I finally found out my step dad was dying (they hid the extent of his cancer from me, a 35-year-old), my first reaction was to start distancing myself from him. Like I'd miss him less, if I started keeping to myself, even before he died. It doesn't help that I've been having mental health issues for much of my life, but that's no excuse. I realised what I was doing was unfair. And I'd definitely feel regret, if I kept distancing myself. I'm trying to spend as much time with him as I can, now. Trying to remember to be grateful for the 20+ years we got to spend with him. I do enjoy his company. But it also hurts. Grief can do weird things to us. Our natural reactions can even seem cruel, sometimes. But I don't think grief played a part, in story #1. I think the daughter is simply a bad person. 😣

I had an aunt who was like this. When my eldest loved aunt died in her home her younger sister was there. Before they even had my aunt's body out of the house youngest aunt was going through all of the possessions and telling everyone what she wanted. She was selfish, greedy and totally loathsome person. She is gone now and not missed one bit by anyone left in the family. Even her son didn't care.

So sorry to hear about your Dad in these videos. We’re all here for you, and if you need time off to be with him as much as possible, do it! You’re lucky to have this time to be with him, even if it’s horrible - it seems you guys really love each other, and that’s so much more important than something as silly as money. Screw anyone who doesn’t get that, or is pushing their issues on you. Just get through this as best you can with your Dad, while you can. Take care of him, and take care of YOU too - That’s all you’re required to do. Much love to you from one of your many fans! When I lost my boyfriend unexpectedly so many people had issues which were insane, not even money or stuff related. Grief really can and does bring out the best and the worst in people and it is shocking. Sometimes even too far over the line. But the people who were there when I needed them meant so much more than anything else. Just like how much I miss my boyfriend will never sour how lucky I was to find him in the first place. This is actually his KZbin account and username that I comment and have subscribed under, since we shared everything together, and I’m so glad even if he died suddenly he didn’t die with words left unsaid between us because I told him how much I loved him whenever I could. And I still do. At least commenting this way he’s still here with everyday, even in a tiny way. Your videos help me, even now, get through hard days. I hope you have something to help you and your family also so you can find as much happiness as possible in these hard times.

For the story with the billing and coding boyfriend. Their is no way he couldn't find a job. These are some of the most sought to fill positions because they don't actually have anything to do with medicine specifically. It's all numbers, and no one wants to do them because it holds a lot of responsibility and is actually difficult. And buy responsibility I mean you are responsible to make sure the hospital/clinic is getting the correct money from the insurance companies and it's a nightmare.

Hey Mark, does it your videos if we skip through when we’ve already heard the story or if we watch it on 2x speed I prefer to watch it like that and I comprehend things better that way. I’ll stop if it hurts your videos though cause you’re my favorite youtuber along with rslash. Edit: I’m sorry to hear about your dad mate. I lost my mom when I was only 5 and her parents around the same time. Losing people is hard. I’m here for you if you need anything. If you need to take a break we understand take as long as you need.

Hey Michael, I'm not sure in all honesty. I just know the more watch time for a unique user = good. However, you need to do what makes the video enjoyable for you my friend as that's why I make them. Also sorry about your Mom, must have been difficult at that young age and growing up. Lost my Mum 2 years ago and my Dad is very likely to pass within 12 months. He's positive right now and that's all I can ask for. Thanks for your thoughts Bro

Mark Narrations I hope you and your Dad get to spend some quality time together. Before he passes make sure you do and say the things you’ve always wanted to do and say together. Spend as much time together as you can. This next year will be hard but remember that you love each other and even after he’s gone he’ll still be there in the things he taught you. Make memories that you can go back to. Do things that remind you of him. For ex. If he loved to ride bikes with you try and ride bikes with him before he passes and after. It’ll help with the coping of his passing. Remember to set your boundaries everyone deals with grief differently and there’s no wrong way to grieve.
