My personal answer to the snail question is to pay someone to make an extremely thick lead box, put the snail inside, and then WELD it shut. If lead is good enough to contain radioactive waste, it can contain the snail.

any metal would work, as long as it wouldn't rust through. They never say that the snail has any type of special power. Just have to bury the container in some area where it is unlikely to be disturbed for a lifetime and you're good. It's really not that hard of a problem to solve as people make it out to be I think.

35:07 as an Austrian myself, we use this word all the time. “Es föhnt aber ganz schön heute!“ (meaning “This Foehn is really severe this day!”) It’s mostly used in a negative way, like when the wind is too warm. Also, fun fact, “Föhn” in German means hair dryer!

As a Bavarian, we exclusively use it to blame small aches, like if you're old and your knee is hurting, and headaches on it and go on lamenting to all the neighbours, and then people collectively go "Jaja, da Föhn hoit" and then you go home.

I can definitely recommend the works of Jack Douglas. He is a Jewish comedian from the mid-20th century who married a Japanese woman and together they raised two children and adopted a wolf and a malamute. His other books include "Never Trust a N@ked Bus Driver" and "the Neighbors are Scaring My Wolf." Some of his humor is a little outdated (think 1950s "lite" misogyny), but otherwise, it's absolutely hilarious.

Average garden snails travel 0.029 miles per hour and assuming it can travel over water at the same speed, not concerning storms or other events that might slow it down, and the shortest distance (air line) between Australia and Usa is 9,204.14 mi (assuming you get your 10 million in the US and the snail also starts there), it would take 317384.138 hours or 13224.34 days or approx 36 years for it to make the journey. Just literally fly from America to Australia twice in your lifetime or somewhere similar in distance and itll never catch up to you. Snail is almost no threat at all; id recommend that the snail gives birth to 100 snails each year and those snails also give birth to 100 snails PER YEAR and every snail descendent has the ability to kill you to up the ante.

I felt so called out because last week I had to do a introduce yourself activity to people and one of the questions were "What's your favourite hobby?" and I wasn't going to say reading and writing fanfiction about two random not even canon ships so I said reading. 35:00 Actually, that word is used quite often. "Foen" seems to be the english spelling of the german word "Föhn", which means hair drier. (It was a german hair drier brand once). So when there is a constant, dry, hot air stream coming from the alps, it feels like the whole town is in front of a hair drier. And with germany being north of the alps, this german word of course only refers to northern, dry, hot air streams. It's quite funny, that this word is allowed in english scrabble, though.

18:47 Already done. Don't know if it was a black mirror episode or a movie I watched. A woman's consciousness was downloaded into a stuffed animal but the programming only allowed for yes and no answers. She was given to her child as a toy, and had to watch as her ex husband remarried a terrible stepmom. I don't remember the full story but there was a fire involved and a prologue stating that her predicament resulted in new laws making it illegal to download someone's consciousness into bodies that didn't allow full autonomy and speech. It was an anthology of stories, so maybe it was a movie. It started with a woman pulling into a derelict gas station. Pulling out a foldable solar panel and setting it up to charge her car before going into the roadside museum there.

I got really depressed last night and decided that death by ice-cream would actually be a pretty awesome way to go. Im alive, but I'm almost out of toilet paper. The secret is to keep a water bottle in the bathroom, that way the dehydration doesn't get you while the ice-cream is speedrunning your bowls.

35:11 I live in Switzerland and we actually use the word Föhn (not Fohn, but same meaning) pretty often. Föhn is the translation for Hairdryer in german so it makes sence for it to be a warm wind.

The wind has been named that for centuries... The hairdryer brand was named for the wind, not the other way round.

35:19 The word is "Föhn" and refers to a wind in the alpine region that's coming in from the south, regardless of whether you yourself are on the northern or southern side (though obviously the consequences for the weather will be very different: north of the Alps, Föhn means good weather, south of them it generally means rain, since the air dumps most of its water trying to go over the Alps). No idea about how often it's used in other languages, but it's frequently used in German. PS: In Switzerland, *the* Föhn is this kind of wind, but *a* Föhn is a hairdryer.

31:46 I commented on the video for this section before, but I’ll explain it again. A “circuit gay” is a gay man that goes to multiple clubs in a relatively short time, the lifestyle often involves the use of club drugs, mainly ecstasy and meth. Being “in a k-hole” is being high on ketamine.

35:15 I think FOEN is reverencing the German word "Föhn", which is used in some dialects to refer to a warm breeze blowing down a mountain.

The TSA fine is like that as is all government legislated penalties (well at least in Australia). The legislation that enacted the penalty would have something written like up to 10 penalty units, the units are used across all penalties and are them selves part of general legislation. The penalty units are then indexed to inflation so that penalties don’t have outdated $ values. So in 20 years time that fine may read $29,450, without anything but the penalty unit automatically be index. Saves lots of updating legislation
