I imagine the Marvin/Stanley argument was probably a collection of various things people have said to them in the past that they were providing explanations for. It's a bit cringe, but only a little. And the points outweigh what cringe is there.

Yeah, I knew you lost weight a month, or 2 ago. Hey, I'm back trying to lose weight myself! So, I see you as inspiration to lose weight. Not in the old Nikacado Avocado way in that he's eating unhealthy, and wanting to eat healthy. But more "if he can lose weight, so can I".

By the way, Mike Illitch did a bunch of stuff for the Detroit area! Even buying the Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Red Wings. Under his ownership, got the Red Wings 4 Stanley Cups, all 6 Conference champions, 16 of their 19 division champions. Illitch bought the Tigers from Tom Monaghan, the founder of Domino's Pizza, in 1992. They didn't do that great when Illitch bought them. But they did go to the World Series for a few years, won a few divisions. Mike's kids run Little Ceasers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Tigers now. Not very well, though.
