Man, an RB on twins just sounds so correct! It’s got that fierce tone up top, but still sounds refined and neat like a true motorsport engine
@anydaynow012 жыл бұрын
Agreed, the RB TT is the best sounding car engine at full song, with an LS as a close second. Of course there are F1, 787B, top fuel dragster, and exotic cars but those two are the best sounding engines most folks can actually afford.
@MineZilla1232 жыл бұрын
Use a uv dye for the oil pan leak. You put the dye in your oil and let it run a little while. Then use a uv flashlight with yellow glasses that come with it usually. And the dye will glow green and show you were the source is coming from. Probably a small Crack in the pan
@95lscivic2 жыл бұрын
Came here to say this. I have run into this exact problem on two occasions, both with cast aluminum pans. Once on a LS and once on a Honda F20c. In both situations I used UV dye to solve the problem.

@jrbuch2 жыл бұрын
On my JZZ30 Soarer with a V160 6 speed, I have twin CT12 highflowed (47mm) turbos on my 1JZ VVTI (264/272 cams, ARP headstuds, e85, Haltech elite 2500). Only fitted the twins because I'm friends with a talented fabricator who put it all together. Car makes 550whp at 25psi, with factory-like response, but like you guys mentioned, for ease of fitment and power, a single turbo would probably be the way to go. Either way, have loved this series 10/10, love seeing GTR/Supra content.

Dang guys, this thing did great on the dyno, that curve looks perfect! I'd run the 450whp map with a scramble boost button to bump it up the extra couple psi when it needs to establish dominance over the Supra. ;) You can tell how tight everything is just looking at the way Pete drives it, I would love to sit passenger in it to feel the differences from the 32. Also, the check engine light is probably on just because the car wants you to pop the hood and admire the engine bay at every stop.

Fully advancing the intake cam will bring the turbos on sooner. Agree a lumpy cam shifts the power band on these, its actually unnecessary to do an exhaust cam for that power target. Very healthy linear tune though. I personally went with a VCAM in mine, it gained about 40rwkw across the rev range. I always recommend to all my GTR friends to go VCAM if they want a nice street and track car. It just modernizes the car, makes it pleasant to drive on the street, fuel efficient, increases longevity of the engine and has power on tap even with bigger turbos. Nissan originally wanted to do a v6 on the r34 gtr but they were going broke. Engineers had designed it, pretty sure it was close to (if not) the VR38. They invested money in the RB25 Neo which also has fully variable cam timing (not just a 3 point cam timing like the r33 rb25). The neo is more modern than the 26.

4'' kak on mine, its loud but it never bothered me before but the older I get the more it does. I have a 2'' insert I made up for mine, its quiet but wont rev much past 3k. I do also suggest playing with cam timing. e.g you might pick up 20 hp at 3k but only loose 5 after 7.5k so its a good trade off for street/track. It will help allow lower rpm shifts on the street keeping noise down but with a 6 speed and 4.11's (or 5spd with 4.4's) you arnt going to get much speed out of each gear shifting that low. Drive it for a bit as is first so you can make a better, educated decision.

Some genius at Toyota decided we don’t need sump gaskets, just FIPG. He was wrong. It’s the only place they leak oil and both of my 3S-GTEs and my 1JZ-GTE have very slight leaks. I’ve learned to live with it as it doesn’t ever show on the dipstick between oil changes.

it depends on the R33/R34. there is a small Yellow plug under the dash in the 33R that you unplug and then start it up... Tap on the brakes 3 times and the AWD light will come up. Use to drive mine like that all the time for fun. Never had any issues with the AWD system
@aDaWaN2 жыл бұрын
Driving is fine as 4 wheels are rotating at similar speeds, but on a 2WD dyno where the front wheels are not rotating at all, you are burning up the clutch pack since it has mechanical pre-load.

I really would love to see the process of converting Skylines to LHD. as far as the loudness of the exhaust, i wouldn't replace it, just add the longest round muffler you can to the straightest section of the system. That should change things. For the oil cooler, would putting the banjo on the return side increase the efficiency? Since the oil would be held in the cooler longer? Love the videos guys💪🥇🏆
