Hello, Mr. Thompson. I'm considering buying a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide, and I was hoping I could ask you some questions, please. The 2000 Wideglide has Vance & Hines Long Shot mufflers, full set. Are they good quality mufflers? But I really like the stock exhaust with Screaming Eagle slip ons. Would it be worth spending $800 to go back to stock? Thank you.

I'm so sick of my crotch rocket. Just want to chillax cruising far and wide while listening to that rumble.

Is this bike worth buying? It looks really cool. I want to get a harley this summer but I've never owned one before.
@ChrisThompsonM10 жыл бұрын
Well, it depends entirely on what you like. I grew to love the chopper look. This Harley had a great chopper look and a great ride. I owned a Yamaha R6 before this one and it was really uncomfortable on long rides. My suggestion is go to your local Harley dealership and ride a bunch of different Harleys. They usually have events usually called demo rides for customers to try out different bikes. This bike is worth every cent I paid for it plus more. Really satisfied with it.

Nice video nice bike ,dont you use your gears to hep slow you up as i noticed you seem to pull the clutch and coast to either a corner or stop light ,also i wish car drivers would do that with there bloody phones .

love the bike man, nice color too. Where'd you get one with that whiskey color?
@ChrisThompsonM10 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The 2011 dyna wide glide models have the option for this color from the factory. It's called sedona orange.

Thanks for the video. This was my dream HD based on looks, but I got to test ride it today It was the new 2016 with high output 103, it was very nice and smooth However, one problem I had was my inner knee hugged up against the stock AC and if I wanted to rear break, I'd have to twist the top of my foot inwards, while me knee was already being pushed outwards by the stock AC The whole time I was watching your video, I notice you had to do something similar. How did you get around that? Or did it not bother you at all?
@isgrimner7 жыл бұрын
You change that stock air filter, you can also get different brake pedals. I had the same issues on my 2011 and 2012 Wide Glides. I got rid of the stock pegs added mini floor boards and put Kuryakan longhorn break pedal on which sticks out about an inch and a half farther than the stock one. Look at some of my Wide Glide vids and I'm sure you can see it.

Love this video man!! Bet I've watched it 20 times. For a nube just learning it's incredibly helpful watching your hands and how the bike responds, etc.

Take an MSF course, don't watch youtube. This guy is one cautionary tale after another. Those jeans will last maybe six feet across pavement. No gloves, no ankle protection, no jacket... He drops at speed and the helmet might protect his head, perhaps, but he'll wish he was dead.

Nice ride man. I just bought a 2014 FXDWG. Did you do the fuel pack with the V/H pipes?
@ChrisThompsonM10 жыл бұрын
Nice! Yeah I did the fuelpak but if I had to do it again, I would go with a power commander. With the power commander you can tune it yourself too what you want in real time and know what the settings mean. With the fuelpak, you have to use pre-sets and if you need additional tuning, you have to call their customer service because only they know what all the settings mean.

Wearing a full face helmet while riding is actually very dangerous. I can see how it would be comfortable, but one of my dads friends wore a full face helmet when he wrecked and his chin hit the ground first and it killed him, because the helmet constriction on his neck. Just some friendly advice. Keep riding!
@pmh1nic9 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I think your dad's friend won't have survived with or without a full face helmet. If he hit hard enough to compress the lower oart of the helmet the impact very well would have probably crushed his face without the helmet. Race car drivers and professional motorcycle riders where full face helmets because they do provide more protection.
@ProTuner069 жыл бұрын
I would never in my life wear a full face on a motorcycle unless I was riding one of those rice burners, but too each their own.

jdoggwilli Thank you for your comment! That is great to hear you got one of your own! I had no idea that these videos would inspire someone to go out and buy a motorcycle. You have inspired me to get off my butt and make some more videos. Hope you enjoy your bike! Be safe brother.

I rode for a full year without a helmet, Decided on a full face helmet because in the spring and Fall it gets pretty cold and windy here in Chicago. The full year riding translates to 3 months; June, July and August :-P

is it good beginner bike?
@ChrisThompsonM10 жыл бұрын
It is easier too ride than my Yamaha R6 I had before I bought my Harley. It is a little heavy but you get used to it. The only thing I can say that will be hard is if you drop it, it will hurt your pride and wallet. I was lucky enough never to drop a bike. Just take it slow first and you will get the hang of it.
