I don't see him being patronizing, can you quote a specific line so I can try to understand what you're seeing? What I'm seeing is RA making a point about Tim not being profiled by his skin color, and Tim immediately losing his shit because he's probably on a TSA list and doesn't have the self awareness or memory to understand why. Which sucks for him, surely, but it's not profiling.
@nedbigby9694
@nedbigby9694 Ай бұрын
@@vyvianalcott1681 What happened was R.A. shrugged off Tim's struggle without ANY proof, or even listening to what he had to say. Regardless of your opinion of Tim, to just shrug someone off like that, then to constantly passive aggressively mutter things like "yeah, yeah" and the like, while laughing shows he had zero respect or even wanted to hear what Tim was saying. Then when Tim reacts reasonably and calls R.A. The Diaper man out for his tude, he gets mad and threatens violence. Bro thought a place for debate and conversation was a place to get hurt feelings and act on them like a violent trog. Dude has no intelligence, so he gets violent to counter things he can't argue with. Plus a bad faith ghetto boy acting like he's educated.
@Jimmertt

Disagree, I think that Tim was disrespectful and RA wasn't prepared for it. He is old school, he is not a youtube entertainer or debate bro and Tim must have known this when he invited him on. I don't. The main reason Tim Pool is singled out to be checked "every time" (unless of course he lied about that like he lies about so many other things) is that ultra sus beanie. A beanie is like a couple clicks below ski mask for making a person look intrinsically more criminal. www.indiewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Home-Alone-2.jpg I'm a mixed black guy and when I was younger got pulled over by cops multiple times. And you know what? I don't attribute most of it to looking black. My first car was a beater with the front corner wrecked, head lamp angled upward. I had no money to get the cosmetic damage fixed. I basically looked like a drug runner driving in that car. Not surprised I was pulled over multiple times in that. In over a decade since I've NEVER been pulled over except the one time I turned on a no left turn sign I missed. Tim going on about how he gets singled out all the time was his typical diversion to make it seem like things other people complain about happen just as frequently to the REAL oppressed group he represents and defends. The ULTIMATE oppressed people, white conservative men. Fucking eternal grievance whore while railing against that trait in everyone else. But look how easily he spanked you fools into buying his narrative. Admittedly with the guests help.

^Damn, I first had a similar thought as this comment when RA brought him up, but then immediately thought that I was mixing him up with Jacob Blake, THEN saw this comment n was like "oh I guess Ahmad IS that guy", THEEEENNNNN saw your guys' comments n am now back to thinking that no- it really WAS just the Jacob Blake situation that Destiny railed against😂 Jesus christ. Ok 5mins later- I googled "Destiny Ahmaud Arbery" n rewatched the Tim Poole clip where they talk about it and YES, I (n OP) indeed, as far as I can tell, were mixing him up with Jacob Blake, since D pretty much said he hadn't looked into the case enough (or couldn't recall enough about it) to comment (when Tim was trying to tell him how dumb it was). Idk if he's said anything else about the case being dumb or whatever elsewhere, but yeah, that's what I found.

Having grown up in the 90s as a hip-hop head. IF you're trying to avoid a fight: The last thing you want to do is raise your voice and cuss out a 90s rapper. Bravado and toughness were king then. You did not tolerate disrespect in any form. Ra was known as being unhinged and violent on stage in the 90s. So much so - that other artists were forbidden from working with him as he was looked at as a liability for their career. So OF COURSE he's going to act up when Tim loudly calls him a mother fucker. Of course he's going to act up when Tim (for whatever stupid reason) decided to tell Ra he's not that guy. I would be more surprised if Ra sat there and let him talk to him like that. Can tell who's part of the softer generations that followed... The real world is not the internet safe space where you can freely raise your voice and cuss out whoever you want. Some people will teach you consequences. Not even commenting on the discourse or takes. That's not the point. The point is Tim did disrespect him and did it multiple times.

Oftentimes, when you're courting someone's emotions, being 'right' is secondary to being understanding. People misunderstand this, but deep down a person doesn't actually care if other people think they're right or not. Remember, people have all sorts of close and trusted friends who, oftentimes, WILDLY disagree with their beliefs or feelings. That's not what they're after when they seek conversation with another. No, what they want is for others to understand. Honestly, being 'right' may as well be entirely irrelevant to how one feels at a given moment. When heated, nobody forms their thoughts with 'being right' in mind. Instead, it's an exploration of how they feel, a visceral attempt to convey that emotion on someone else however they can. All other thought processes shut down, including rationality. This is why people will widely misrepresent themselves, hurl insults, and make obscene arguments when upset, even intelligent persons, because their only objective at that moment is forcing upon someone else all the emotions they've built up. I don't think RA in that moment necessarily cared whether Tim Pool agreed with him or not. I don't think he would deny that being routinely checked out at an airport---for any reason---has got to feel pretty shitty. What happened was that they had failed to connect on any level and all RA heard at that point was some 'white guy' trying to conflate his own negative experiences with the systemic pressures that African Americans face. As someone who has no doubt watched his black friends experience these sorts of system pressures and feels strongly about it, he probably looked to Tim's side of the table, gazed into his eyes, and failed to see any understanding of how he felt. If Tim Pool was less focused on justifying his position than being understanding as to why RA might feel the way he did, then the conversation might have been salvaged. I'm not one sided in this. You could certainly say the same thing about the other side. Tim was equally upset with RA, and when he refused to acknowledge his own experiences feelings, he lost it. It was just a really poor conversation that led to the clip. Instead of condemning either side, which the internet in all its sanctimony is ready and primed to do without any subtlety, the more lucrative endeavor is to understand how such a situation came to be and why each party acted the way they did. To anyone reading this, here is some advice that will get you ahead of everyone else socially. When courting someone's emotions, focus chiefly on understanding being understanding. Forget about right and wrong, good or bad. That's not important in that moment. Remember, being understanding isn't an endorsement of a belief, it's being human. It's being a good friend/companion
