Beautiful elaboration. Bhatiyar is a bhakti raag. 'purab sey Surya uga, phailaa ujiyala' the ad jingle sung by Kavita krishnamurthy is the classic bhatiyar. Another Marathi natya sangeet is 'artha shunya bhasey maz ha'

Credit should be given to Ashok Patki ji who composed Purab se surya Uga. There is a video on YT (in Marathi) in which he describes this story where he was recording with Kavita Krishnamurthy and Suresh Wadekar and was about to wind up at 10.45 pm when suddenly he got this project in hand to compose and record, and he had to finish it that night itself as it was to be presented to the client next day morning. Video worth watching!

Complex raags are mixture of many raags. Bhatiyar is one such raag. It's vadi swar is shuddha madhyam, which is not present in Marwa Thaat. The reason for this raag to be included in Marwa Thaat is that this raag has a particular phrase of raag Marwa included in its chalan. This raag has both madhyams but teevra madhyam is used very less as compared to its shuddha counterpart. Hope this helps
