Thank you for your teaching, Rabbi Berel! And greetings from a German Messianic Jewish woman, living actually about 10 miles from the village of "Eppstein" :)) yep, it's written with two "p", whereas the Jewish Surname is commomly writen only with one "p". 🔯 Actually it's a quite nice village near the famous Taunus, a mountain range near Frankfurt am Main. I checked their history website, but unfortunately it's somewhat poor and doesn't contain information about the Spanish jews at that time over there.

I have very conflicting feelings about Rabbi Wein growing up in MOnsey, NY. MY 1st cousin who prayed in this shul intermarried and is now divorced and is now engaged to another non-Jewish woman. His mother especially loves him and is angered that he faces discrimination even though it isn't without cause. The Aunt of this man is the head of the sister-hood which it suggests internalized misogyny that they would have a woman connected to this inter-marriage to a non-Jewish woman as it is harder for Jewish woman as a religious minority. The synagogue I'm sure know all this so what does this say about Rabbi Wein when the shul he nurtured this is how they behave. It is very unusual to have intermarriage in the MO world but sadly not my family and it is connected to Rabb Weins'.You complain to the synagogue and they don't care. They think they can do as they please.

@alma6911 rabbi wein himself has said loshon hara about various jewish groups himself. This is a complete distortion of the whole concept that Miriam was criticized because her criticizes of Moses was unfounded. The fact the shul he led for a long time has a woman of the president of the sisterhood has a nephew who is intermarried and is supported by the family is a very serious question of the values of the shul he lead.

@alma6911 I might add that his shul in monsey has a mindset just like you of silencing legitimate criticism even when someone marries non-Jewish women and this man is now on non Jewish women #2 and the family has internalized hatred of jews. To be a good successful jew in usa that is the way to go. Rabbi wein talks about this yet it doesn't impact Jews treating fellow jews any better but knowing the culture is looking for the token pet jew to hide behind.
