As an autistic single father of a son who is autistic that the rabbi said is so true I personally feel more comfortable speaking to hashem opening up to hashem when I absolutely can't talk to most people with out being stressed out. I just wish as a Jewish community we could invite our autistic brothers and sisters a little more to be a member of our community

WOW. 🎯🎯🎯 My mother screamed on the phone one day at me that I need to be “more compassionate” because I didn’t react to something in the ridiculous fake overly emotional way the rest of the family does 🙄 I’m like…… and THIS is why I live in the wilderness 1,000 miles away from all y’all. That comment made me over-analyze for months in my quiet time that maybe I’m some horrible incompassionate monster with a stone heart? My husband brought up that I rescue horses from kill pens and take in every stray…..lack of compassion is not an issue. It’s other humans unwilling to see things from another’s perspective that’s the issue. 🎯 I didn’t know neuro-divergent was even a thing! THANK YOU 🙏🏻

I am a strong empath. Have always known why I am here. And have been surrounded by narcissists my entire life. And have grown to a healthy spiritual level, and through a lot of traumatic events, and loss of life of almost my entire family, I have moved forward on my path to be in service. I don't agree with the masking, at least for me. I'm very blunt, and will not be inauthentic. That is the behavior of a narcissist. I appreciate your way of teaching, down to earth, and that you offer your wisdom to help others. I just found this, and was curious to see if it was about what I thought it is. And pleased it was. 😊 I look forward to listening to other videos of yours Rabbi ❤ Brightest Blessings to you ❣️❣️❣️

I know the story was about autism, but neurodivergence also applies to those with CPTSD, DID and high cognitive functioning people. Being hardwired differently radically disrupts relationships, livelihoods and living sustainably in a world where you are the outlier who is stigmatized and judged at every turn. Sometimes, it’s simply because you are aware that you don’t understand things or respond as others do. Unfortunately, repetitive rejection and labeling also severely narrows the spaces where those who are neurodivergent can exist, let alone thrive. Which, then, raises the bar that has to be navigated in order to create and live a whole, meaningful life. There are a myriad of reasons to withdraw from the neurotypical world when one doesn’t belong within it. One of the most difficult aspects to live with is regret for the wake of failures with people you loved along the way…worse is knowing that any relationship you may be able to have today is likely to be gone tomorrow. Because of your differentials. It is this very temperance and isolation that drives the neurodivergent to seek The Most High as the only One able to fully know and who never fails.

This is a very important comment. Thank you for taking the time to write this up so carefully. Regarding CPTSD please see my podcasts on trauma that I did with top experts in the field kzbin.info/aero/PL1he-JRtnKejFz06qJzS-uuBujEYyABcP&si=c_gHr2MAR7oI6OQ8

I certainly don't wish to invalidate what you're saying in your comment, which is very thoughtful, nor the sense of being an "outlier" that comes with CPTSD and DID, but neither of those conditions fall under neurodivergence. As someone with a background in mental health and working in a neurodivergent advisory board, I think it's important to be accurate and not risk confusing people. It's true though, that CPTSD and activated trauma can very much impair executive functioning and shares some symptoms of ADHD. But it doesn't fall under neurodivergency.

9:13 yes that is true about people who are autistic but keep in mind that it's only true for those who've been allowed to be autistic and haven't been forced to mask. If they've been forced to mask then they're probably constantly thinking about what other people think of them because they're worried that they'll come across as weird. But masking is really a trauma response.

I am afraid as I get older that I recognize some of these things within myself. I think I am so good at it now, however I walk around thinking I don't understand people at all. I am just coping at this point. I have no clue. The way I have survived is by being observant and sieving it through what I know should be normal to spot the abnormalities. Otherwise I was too naive in the past. I had to find a strategy to filter deception. I am often just asking to be free from all these complications. My life is good but I don't find people to be satisfying or wholesome or just safe. They are too complex and you have to be constantly deciphering what is what. I have found myself in unsafe situations because I did not spot a nefarious person. I self soothe for sure. I still suck my fingers at my age and I have my favorite "rag" which is what I can describe the remnants of it.

It can be so exhausting to live a life trying to be "neurotypical", when from your very first memory you have always felt out of place, out of step and cut off from those around you. As I have grown old and found myself always working with children "on the spectrum", it has left me wondering just how "typical" that outgoing, happy, demonstrative personality really is... Maybe it just seems that they are typical because the rest of us work so hard at "passing" as normal.

I am on the Asperger's Spectrum and this really helped me understand myself a little more and I have it saved as to help me when I am feeling discouraged!!! Thank you Rabbi!!!! 18:42 EXACTLY 😂😂😂 I'm tired of people's fake politeness gosh😂😂😂 You see when you know your not crazy, & in your mind everyone is dumb but your kinda slow too, but very handsy so you just keep to yourself incase you offend someone and end up in the back of one of these again🚔 😂😂😂 What you say about politeness makes perfect sense. Side note: Most of us diverse people are unusually strong, we have unusual physical strength even if we're small. Why do you think that is? Me personally I think it's the Most High, Creator of all Creations Source of All Life don't like people messing with us, that drink water & mind our business & We don’t like being extracted/jolted out of our natural state of calm. Basically we don’t like being disturbed, as nature is our natural form of entertainment watching insects, birds, squirrels, the clouds, the sky, the grass, the trees etc. Things that take our attention away from that better be good otherwise we get well grumpy. What do you think? Cantankerous is my favourite word😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Wargoat is no2😊😆😆😆😆😆😆

Beis Shammai's idealistic, heavenly view makes him blunt which can be considered impolite by neurotypical individuals. He has high expectations and sees the potential vs sometimes disappointing actual. To navigate many adopt "masking". Aside from the "permission slip" and actively yearning for the Moshiach reality what else can one do to cope?
