I am an American and a devout Christian. My desire is to reach out to the worldwide Jewish communities to help them understand that accepting Jesus does not mean abandoning your Jewish heritage. Jesus IS the SAVIOR and the MESSIAH! As the Rabbi said, Jesus was a practicing Jew. He never faltered from His faith as a Jew. To see the people in the crowd bowing their heads, some with tears running down their face and others raising their hands in submission to Jesus, brought tears to my own eyes. Since 4 years ago, when I started reading the Bible for myself, I have seen things in my life that are nowhere taught by Jesus, and in fact warned about … I stopped celebrating Christmas (and Easter) after reading about Aaron’s two sons offering a strange incense to the Lord and the Lord killing them for not worshipping him the way He commanded. I started thinking about Christmas and the traditions passed down to me from generation to generation. I started to see all the pagan rituals in Christmas that I knew God hated. God is truth and the fact that the birth of Jesus is not really December 25, well I knew if God hates lies and liars then how could he condone this “holy” day? False things have crept into our churches and we are warned that it would happen. He says to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Period. I was celebrating Christmas because I loved the gifts and the tree and the Christmas “spirit.” Not to please Him but it pleased my flesh. It was so difficult to give up that first year but I did it for the Lord, to give him the respect he deserves. No turning back and I now I don’t miss it at all. Nowhere in the Bible was “Christmas” celebrated. Boy do Christians get angry when they think about not getting to celebrate this holiday. It is like a selfish spirit enters them. I have seen it and it isn’t pretty.
