In this video, we will talk rabbit body language, and 15 strange things rabbits do, and explain the meaning behind them.
Eating Cecotropes
When your bunny appears to be bathing their belly and they come up chewing, they are actually eating a cecal pellet. Irabbits produce two types of droppings, fecal pellets and cecal pellets. It is from these cecal pellets that rabbits get the majority of their nutrition.
Scattered Droppings
Scattered droppings signify that this territory belongs to the rabbit.
Rabbits mark their territory by spreading their poop around their home. These smelly messages warn other rabbits that the place belongs to them.
Territorial droppings often occur when a rabbit enters to a new environment, or when a new rabbit moves into the house.
Why rabbits rub their chin
Rabbits have scent glands under their chins that they use to mark their territory.
This will be particularly helpful when bunnies move in the dark and cannot see.
If you have more than one rabbit, you’ll notice that chinning occurs more frequently.
If your rabbit rubs her chin on you, This is a sign that your rabbit loves you and feels safe with you.
If your rabbit is chinning another rabbit, it is often a display of affection.
Why rabbits dig
Digging is normal rabbit behavior. In the wild, rabbits dig burrows to escape from predators and have a comfortable spot to rest.
Beyond instincts, bunnies also dig for fun, or to occupy themselves when they are bored or stressed.
Some rabbits dog to shorten their nails.
What rabbits thump their foot?
Among rabbits, thumping the back foot is a natural reaction to a threat that they may have seen, heard or smelled.
Back leg stomping can also be a sign of annoyance in the rabbit world.
If your bunny is feeling irritated about something, whether it's you stroking their back for too long, they may thump their feet to indicate feeling irked or uneasy at the moment.
Why rabbits grind their teeth
When a rabbit grinds their teeth, they are communicating enjoyment. This is a rabbit's way of purring.
But teeth grinding can also be a sign of discomfort or pain. Grinding due to pain is often more frequent and louder than grinding due to contentment.
Why rabbits get the zoomies
Running around at fast speeds indicate a happy bunny and your rabbit is running around out of pure joy and excitement.
Why rabbits lick
Rabbits lick you for a lot of reasons. They may want to show you affection and love. They may even want to groom you to show that they care about your well-being. Or they may simply enjoy the taste of your skin as you may have the residue of some yummy treat on your skin.
If your rabbit licks your clothes, they are probably showing you affection. Like chinning, licking is also a rabbit’s way to mark their territory, especially when the rabbit gives a few licks to the objects in the area.
Licking in this way helps rabbits to spread their scent.
Why rabbits twitch their nose.
Twitching their noses helps rabbits to smell better.
In rabbit body language, nose twitching is a sign of curiosity and alertness. If they’re curious about what’s going on, they waggle their nose fast to pick up the scents around them.
Rabbits may also twitch their nose fast to regulate their body temperature and cool off.
Why rabbits bite
Rabbits bite for a lot of reasons. Some rabbits may give you an innocent nip to get your attention, like when you stop petting them. By biting, your bunny is asking you to keep petting her.
Rabbits may also bite to stop unwanted actions or behaviors by humans or other animals
Generally, rabbits bite to show dominance, defend their food, or protect themselves.
Aggressive biting behavior can be prevented by spaying or neutering your bunny.
Why rabbits nudge.
Rabbits explore their environment by sniffing and nudging. They may nudge you to greet you, say Hello to you, or investigate you. They may even nudge to get your attention or demand to be groomed, like when they want you to pet them.
However, a nudge can also mean, “you’re in my way!” or “Move please!”.
Why rabbits growl
Growling is a clear sign that your rabbit is angry or stressed.
Why rabbits binky
Binkying is a large jump in the air while the rabbit slightly twists its body or head at the same time. Rabbits binky when they feel very happy or excited.
Why rabbits spray
Some rabbits mark their territory by urinating on objects, other rabbits, people or everything in the range. This process is known as ‘spraying’.
Spraying is often directed at vertical surfaces.
Spraying a jet of urine on humans is usually the way rabbits show love for their owners.
Neutering or spaying your rabbit is an effective way to prevent them from spraying urine.
Why Rabbits twitch in their sleep
When your rabbit is sleeping, you may notice head, cheek, or even full-body twitches. Rabbits dream during the REM stage of sleep, and those twitches are responses to whatever's happening in their dreams.

when it showed the rabbit eating in that food tray it’s showed corn!!! corn is not good for rabbits, it could possibly kill them and seeds too! bunnies can’t just live on carrots, they need unlimited hay and if they don’t have hay they can go into GI stasis. they also need greens such as Romain lettuce, kale, spring mix, herbs such as mint, parsley, thyme, dill, etc. also rabbits can’t have ice burg lettuce. it’s filled with water and could make your rabbit sick.

I used to have two rabbits. Dusty was a smaller very friendly and smart rabbit who adored affection and didn't mind getting picked up. She was also a more submissive rabbit. Flopsy, on the other hand, was larger and dare I say chonkier then dusty. She was super aggressive and hated anything to do with getting picked up and people. She also hated it when dusty got picked up and would try and 'save' her sometimes. Even though dusty had no problem. They were in a small cage unfortunately. We wanted to get them a bigger one for awhile but we never got the chance due to money issues. They fought a lot, flopsy being the attacker and so we often had to take dusty out for walks in the backyard or for cuddles so she'll avoid the abuse. They were also both unspayed. Tragically, dusty died last summer. They were about a year old. Since she died, flopsy has been a lot lonelier. Because of that she's been more open to human touch and connection, when before she used to cut it off completely. She doesn't attack us anymore for no reason and would usually give us a lot of warning beforehand. She of course still hates getting picked up, so we don't pick her up at all unless we need to check her for injuries or if she let's us. She's very clever and has found at least 4 ways to escape her cage. Usually by chewing giant holes in the sides. She also learned to climb stairs, so if she escapes and she's looking for attention she'll climb up the basement stairs (we moved her down there after dusty died, don't worry it's well lit and spacious) and she'll look for people. She likes to go behind the couch unfortunately but hasn't chewed any cords that we are aware of. It's really cute when she finds a person, because she'll sit there looking at them with her dumb bunny face until they notice her. We usually get up to try and herd her back downstairs and she'll binky and zoom away playing chase. Sometimes she goes back on her own, other times we end up picking her up and giving her quite a few cuddles until she's had enough then put her away. She's a very happy bunny and is a lot friendlier now that dusty is gone. We miss dusty every day, especially me. I take most of the care for the rabbits and have gotten really attached to them. Way more then the rest of my family mostly because I think their adorable. I had gone through quite a lot of grief for about a week or so, which was also unfortunate since my school had started a week after dusty passed. Hopefully she is running around in heaven now ❤️❤️ Thank you for reading all this, and have a good day

Or she just doesn't care for the. But she's sweet and protective. I'm wondering when her nurturing thing will kick in or when she hits puberty. However that works. The bunny nose sniff thing tho, that's too cute.

Thumping their hind leg isn't always about insecurity. It could also be a call for attention or excitement. For example, if you stop petting one and back away and they thump with their ears forward and approach playfully, not aggressively, they're asking for more. Mine thumps to show excitement all the time and he also does it while running around and binkying. (Yes, I'm very sure it's not out of fear. He's 14 years old. I can tell the difference between the fear, pain, and happiness thumps.)

My old Rex always thumped when he saw us enter the lawn in the evening. 9+ hours of free roaming wasn’t enough in his opinion. He also thumped when he eventually chose to go into his shack, letting us know how displeased he was.

It’s interesting that domesticated rabbits binky when joyously happy but its origin is a mating dance behavior in wild rabbits. The idea is the female can fly up and over a mate to challenge him or get away. I saw this once when a newly bonded female came home with my boy and he tried a dominance mounting (they were neutered and spayed). He got about one paw on her back and she flew up into the air and over him. He was like, where’d she go? She got him to stop trying so it really worked.

Lovely and nice info! It is always better to have atleast two bunnies so that they won't feel depressed. We have two snow white rabbits, they are able to maintain their whiteness just by cleaning themselves. I heard that we shouldn't bath rabbits as they don't like it and bathing may harm them.

It is cruel to keep them outside in a cage. They want attention and love, much like a dog. Rabbits live cold, lonely miserable lives in outdoor cages and hutches.

In the video it says right outside rabbits cage and show photos and videos of them in cages. Rabbits should not belong in cages they should be in a large area inside the house. I’m not trying to be a Karen I just wanted to clarify that because I love my two rabbits and I want them to be super safe and healthy.💗✨💗✨ But it also show them running around the house which is great 😊
