I'm so glad you made this video. I hate having to clean my bunny's litter box cause of the smell. The clean up process isn't difficult though but I never thought of using pee pads to line the bottom and then adding in their litter. I may give that a shot. Thanks for the idea

Creativity is the best maybe try raising money and buying it on your own, im 14 and i have a dog and 2 guinea pigs, amd my parents wanted to keep ot like that. I took care of my pets well, believe me, they just didn't want any more. so i made a deal, i would do all the odd jobs aroind the house to raise my allowance, so i could have a higher more reasonable weekly pay so i can support my bunny, and now i have one, (well, we have everything set up and were getting one later this week..)

I have 3 rabbits of my own and i wanted to share a tip, a mixture of water and vinegar can diffuse rabbit smell even to the bunnys themselves. i thin the amount is 50-50 but i use 1.25 cup of water and .75 cup of vinegar and keep it in a spray bottle.

I really want my bunny to not be in a cage, and free roam in my room, and sleep in a play pen, my mom said no "she'll pee on the carpet" "she had to be in a cage" but I argued, I started yelling at her....and I cried, we haven't talked for a couple days, but I over heard her talking with my step dad about my bunny free romaing!! she's finally coming to her senses!! ❤️

I know this is video is from some time ago, but thx,also when I empty my litter box i use animal safe stain/scent of pee remover, but i spray the litter box then wipe it out with diaper wipes or papertowels, and it seems to work nicely , also my bunny gets so happy of the scent of lemon, im not sure why, but i bought a lemon scent spray, and he loves it so much when he smells it in his litter box.

I'm in love. I appreciate these videos even though i don't have a bunny, though as a little girl a black one would visit me coming up the drive way. I don't know if i will have the time one day but it's an enlightening responsibility in my opinion, like being a rabbit guardian, giving a bunny a happy life just cause you can. For my rabbit, I use a training pad for the base, then I take the hay that he hasn't eaten to top it. He's kind of finicky and only wants "fresh" hay. If he hasn't eaten it, I just put it in a box. Then when I change the box, I put a new pad down, and then cover it in the old unused hay. No need for other absorbing materials. Plus the pads are great, they fit almost perfectly and changing it out, I just start from one end and roll it up to the other end, old hay, droppings, all wrapped up, slide it into a garbage bag for easy removal. Unfortunately I live in an urban apartment, the droppings and old hay would make great compost!

Hi, great video but I have some Qs: 1/ As you said, rabbits eat and poo at the same time. So do you put Lennon's food in the litter box as well? Broccoli, lettuce etc? 2/ If you dont, does he poo where he eats his greens? 3/ If his litter box stays in your bathroom, do you keep his bathroom door open all the time so he has 24/7 access? 4/ How does Lennon cope with guests? Does he get spooked and hide? If you are having a party and cant focus on him, do you put him in a play pen so he is out of the way and safe? 5/ What if he needs 'to go' when he's in his pen? How would he get to his litter box? 6/ Where does Lennon sleep? 7/ When Lennon leaves his litter box, after having done his business, does he carry hay all over your house? 8/ When Lennon has done his business, do you wash him? If not, doesnt his faeces get on your lap/hands if you pick him up? Or anywhere else he sits? Sorry, I have a ton of Qs, because I've never owned a rabbit or known anyone who has, but now my daughter wants one so I'm up to my ears in research!

We used something called Corn cob litter. (exactly what it is) and we had very little smell problem, and it was quite absorbent. We didn't have to clean it for several weeks. He would tell us when to clean it --usually by trying to flip the litter box itself and snorting at us. And then inspect it after we cleaned it. Luckily, we moved, and he had a small yard by then to do his business. And we let him in and out like you would a dog. And hold an umbrella over him when it was raining. Over HIM. --the human was unimportant to get sopping wet.

i had a question, i live near a forest and there is a path on it that leads to a flat clearing. is it possible to leash my rabbit in one of those collars that go around the chest and take him into the clearing. i think it might be a good natural experience for him because wild rabbits live there and the areanis just grass and recently got "cleared" (meaning a controlled burn) to get rid of all the dead plants taking up space, so its free of any bushes or thorns that can hurt the bunny

Always be very careful and vigilant about taking your rabbit outside. Personally, I would not recommend a forest as there can be many hidden predators in trees or bushes. Try something simple like a backyard or patio first where you have an open view of everything around you. Remember that just because wild rabbits live in the wild, it doesn't mean domesticated rabbits need to experience it. They don't really know how to survive in the wild. Best of luck and use your best judgement :)

You can use dog potty training pee pads! You can find them at places like Target Or Walmart. Hope that was helpful.

amaraxvlogs thank you, we got a bit too exited about the possibility and just went out and got some at Target. We went for the ones with no fragrance. Chestnut is 2 years old and she technically belongs to my 9 year old, but we all help take care of her to ensure that she is happy. This has made keeping her litter box clean a way easier and we are also using less absorbing pellets. So it's a win win, we all love your videos in our house 😊

Can you refrigerate the hay? We live at a place where I have to cut fresh hay/grass. Now up until now I lived close to a place that was filled with hay. but now I have to like go there and cut it. now I wanted to cut four/five days worth of hay at one time and wanted to store it. if I leave it outside, it kinda gets yellow and Stuart gets all picky. I thought about refrigerating it but I went on Google and saw that it could develop molds. what should I do? storing them in closed containers could also be bad, I read. the baby Bunny is super picky.

Hello! I am not familiar with using fresh grass. Please let me know what your experience is! I would highly recommend ordering your hay online and having it delivered if you do not have any stores nearby :)

Lennon The Bunny Thank you. And the problem is resolved. We found a place with fresh hay. My bunny has eaten freshly cut grass/hay ever since he was 6 weeks old and he refuses to eat anything store bought. But that's OK because when he was very little, I set his diet with the vets and I give him very little fruit (once a week), veg (he likes cabbages, but in very little amount), handmade roti (something very familiar in India) and lots of fresh hay and a bowl of water. We change the hay and water every 12 hours, clean his litter box everyday. He's a free range bunny and the entire house is bunny proofed! I love how your bunny loves you so much because not everyone can make a bunny feel so safe and loved. Lots of love to you and Lennon.😘💜

Adam Haikal Yes they can be litter trained even though they aren't fixed. Although, you still really need to fix your rabbit because they can get ovarian cancer when they're 2-5 years old.
