I used to drive semi for a living and back in the day we would pick up hitchhikers in the winter here in Wyoming. I picked up one guy that decided after we got going down the interstate to try and hold me up with a knife.. I told him he had a choice of either jumping out of the truck or being blown out the door as I aimed a .44 Magnum at his head.. needless to say I hope he didn't break too many bones when he landed..
@dannydillon997 Жыл бұрын
Damn good story don't bring a knife to a gun fight, you did right by picking up a hitch hiker. Might make him think twice about pulling out a knife next time, good work.

A salesman at a dealer I worked at had a gun pulled on him and the guy made him strip down to his underwear, took all of his belongings and left him on the side of the road. The only reason we found him so quick was because it was along the test drive route (techs and sales people used the same route, there was a long and a short route) a tech found him and picked him up. Wild story

That is crazy! It’s horrible that happened, but luckily, she was not murdered as well. It goes to show that you can never be too careful. That would be a horrible consequence for skipping a small step in the protocol. Thanks for the video and the reminder of how easily something can go wrong.

Solving all the worlds problems with a cold drink in hand
My 22 year-old nephew was selling cars at a new car dealer when he did a ride-along on a test drive. He said after they went a way down a road the guy driving told him he had no interest in the car he was there for him. He told me that really freaked him out and he didn't know how that was going to end. He did take him back without a problem. My sister-in-law has been in various sales jobs including cars for 20+ years. She is a tall blond of Swedish decent. She makes serious bank and the fact that she's ethically "flexible" doesn't hurt her sales.

I only worked in Montana in the winter at a dealership. Never worried too much but about once a week I’d have a kid wanting to test drive a used Scat Pack Challenger in the snow. I’d slide it sideways out the back of the dealership and say “that’s with traction control on , drive it normal you will be fine . Hurt me I have an angry little midget of a wife you don’t want to answer to. Always scared them just enough to keep it between the ditches.

I feel like I dodged one just a few days ago. Guy that is known to be very left of center somehow got his temp paper license. I tried to give all the signals to my manager to not accept it for a test drive. He told me I "had to deal with the guy". The drive was a little scary as he kept driving in the middle of the road and took me on a very long drive. Turns out he left the dealership and went home and tried to kill his dad. Wild what a difference in 20 minutes can make.

Is that an E150 extended in the thumbnail? I don’t see many of E150 extended length Ford vans, most are E250 or E350. The frame rear of the front suspension is very straight with a mild hump over the rear suspension. A good candidate to build a flatbed trailer big enough to tow behind a full size truck.

I can't take a test drive route when I'm test driving a car, I drive where I want & up to a 100+mph on the highway, if I'm not allowed to do that then no deal.
@Superfitcouple2 жыл бұрын
Why can't you take the route? Just curious after you have been educated about the reason for the protocol
@jaywires7172 жыл бұрын
@@Superfitcouple because I want to be in control as the driver, if a salesman is telling me where to go or drive a certain speed it's a deal breaker, I like to hit the nearest highway & push it to a 100mph to see what the car can do, if I can't do that it's no hard feelings, there's other car lots out there that'll l let you do that, I've test driven many cars & have never been told where to go, I also have sold many cars & never have told people were to drive, don't get me wrong a pretty sales woman might have to be more cautious, it's just part of what comes with being an pretty lady, I call it pretty girl problems, pretty girls are good for sales, just look at female real estate agents, most of them are pretty.

Thanks Rabbit for reiterating the importance of safety. I am an OTR trucker of 16 years and still going. My mind is running thru the same checklists everyday and I've seen it myself. The issues truckers are experiencing or have created due to complacency is all because they didn't follow daily protocol. Thanks again for your information today. It is appreciated. 🇺🇸🐇🤍
