The con of that is though there easily beatable in air, set pieces and prone to yellow cards. Georgia on the counter are lethal. Should be able to get some goals from opportunities but there defense needs work. There backline can be exposed but I’m please with both countries. They are fantastic to watch.

I was in Portuguese restaurant too : ) Fall river massachusetts has huge portuguese population. Its football crazy. I schooled up in burington and used to visit quebec a lot I speak good french but its little different for quebeqoise as opposed to main land francais. Do you enjoy the food? Portguese steak, chourico, shrimp and chicken mozambique, bacalhao, pork altejenah. Its so delicious if you havent tried you have to next time. Otopus is really popular and very good although grilled is best way if you never tried. Bom dia amigo,....vamos !

A positive to take from this game is Roberto Martinez’s game management. I felt his subs were pretty positive and I liked how, although a minute late, he was bringing on Inacio to handle that left flank. Great to have a coach that can act and make positive changes when things aren’t working. Força Portugal!

Very, very delayed reactions from the coach. I really think, even tho I like him, that Roberto Martinez was a low of this game. Taking a lot and usually reacting to Czechia's changes. The changes close to minute 90 when the game was asking for them much earlier were a pain to watch. Thankfully it worked, even if so late.

Ronaldo played extremely well despite being the lone striker against a back 3. Created more chances than anybody on the pitch, could have had an assist if Vitinha just shot with his left. and was really selfless

Are you delusional? He created only one chance with the backheel to Vitinha, what other chances did he create? The answer is none. As for his performance, it was fairly lackluster, most of his touches were single passes (most of them back). I noticed he demanded the ball in very poor areas from time to time, he had some good moments mainly the header (hit the post, unfortunate) and the chance which he turned quickly and hit a shot that the keeper made a good save on. Other than that, he missed a 1 on 1 that he should’ve finished. Overall I’m noticing the same issues as before, no pressing, no runs being made and no helping in the build up.

He was their best forward the entire constantly allowing himself to man marked by 3 or 4 people with his off the ball movement in order to all the winger to get space. He did have the most big chances created for Portugal so that says a lot. Also there was quire literally no need to press in this game when Portugal was quite literally playing in Czechia's half for 95% of the whole. He did make runs, I don't where you saw he didnt. There was chance Bruno got and delayed the pass same vitinha as well. The ball distribution yesterday was slow in general despite have about 70% possession to do anything with the ball

Whenever Ronaldo got the ball you could just see pure class oozing out of it and it was such a stark contrast to the horrible midfielding Portugal side did. Thank god the young substitutes came when they did. It's great to know Portugal has great talent besides their big names like Bruno fernandes and silva, especially when they fail miserably like they did in this match for some reason. Hope they keep this in mind in future games.

Ronaldo was incredibly subpar this game. And in the midfield, Vitinha carried the team, there's a reason he won MOTM. It wasn't the midfield that lacked for Portugal, it was the attack, with Bernardo repeatedly killing forward momentum and Ronaldo being constantly out of position.

I thought Portugal was alright. Controlled the game but really not many clear cut chances. Biggest negatives I thought were Martinez seemingly experimenting a new system for some reason instead of trying it in the warmup matches with the Mendes/Cancelo experiment. And also Bernardo Silva, he's been pretty invisible for Portugal under Martinez and I think he just doesn't fit the system. Absolutely zero width on his side, I hope we start with an out-and-out winger in the next match with Conceicao or Neto, possible Bruno could be better there and we can bring in Joao Neves or Palhinha.

Portugal ware dominating throughout but not any sort of efficient play. As a portuguese (ofc portugal fan) i always feel like no matter how talented our squad is. They always look for ronaldo. No matter what. Even if there are other areas to explore. Ronaldo doesn't need our players to always search for him. He will have his chances, and he has had the majority of his career, and he will take them. We need to trust the collective and not CR7 alone.

The only thing I didn't like about his match today though was that he kept drifting to Leao's wing and bringing defenders instead of staying or attacking the box. You can go back and see many times Leao had the box around the left side of the box Ronaldo was standing behind him for no reason instead of attacking the centre. It was allowing Czechia defenders to double Leao and also left no threat in the box. Bernardo Silva though was by far the weakest link today. I think Portugal should play with Felix or Jota on the left as they are more natural central players than Leao which would let Ronaldo still drift left and they will fill the void in the centre when he does that. And then play a proper winger like Conceicao or Neto on the right to provide width and stretch the pitch.

Of course there have been times when Ronaldo saved Portugal and like I said, I am happy for him to start. But, it's also simple math: if you pass to one guy 10 times, and another guy 3 times, who has the best chances at scoring? And n those 10 passes, was he always the best choice? I understand I am fighting a losing battle though because I care more about teams than individuals, I don't really idolize players at my age.
