I suffer from combat related PTSD, and fostered 2 little raccoons a few years ago in Arkansas and they have been by far the best cure for my anxiety and stress. I love these little guys and would love to raise them but I know where they truly belong. Thanks for bringing some holiday cheer my way.

@ImNotMad ButUR that sounds like an amazing experience. I actually moved here to Arkansas because I needed to get away from large crowds. My family is all Military, mother retired Col in the Army and because I was a military brat growing up, we have lived just about everywhere. Originally I'm from Boston Mass, my grandparents migrated to New England from Scotland. But I will never return to Mass. The south is my home. I'm an outdoorsman, love hiking, camping, fishing, hunting.... you name it. However, I'm limited physically, mentally and emotionally on what and when I can do things. I was told before being medically retired from the Army that I would need to maintain some sort of physical therapy for my back, and I took it upon myself to workout everyday. I lost a good inch in height when I broke my back, but with 4 kids, 3 dogs, and an amazing wife, I knew I had to build strength to keep from being permanently wheelchair bound. Life isn't too bad for us either. My PTSD is a lot like you described, nightmares, gazing off with visions, thoughts and sometimes the voices of my battle buddies. I can't go to places without analyzing everything, I have severe control issues when it comes to driving, I also need to see whose coming and going wherever we are. It's more a trust issue than anything. My anxiety also gets me angrier than normal. Having those two raccoons helped me appreciate more in life. I was raising two babies whose mother was hit by a car. I have all kinds of pics of them posted on my Instagram shane_luvs_jamie if your interested. I won't bore you with much of my life, I did attend the University of Mobile back in 1994, for 1 year on a soccer scholarship. I had a bad injury that required help, so I went home. I thank you for your husband's service and helping him deal with his demons. Nobody can truly understand the sacrifices we make as military families, just to ensure both family and country are protected. Yet, today's society is full of ignorance and ungrateful brats when given the opportunity, will bash and disrespect our servicemen and women. I've seen it first hand in Colorado Springs, Co. I know your husband had it worse that any of us will ever have it, so again, thank you so much and thank you for sharing such an amazing life experience.

@sarahbrown53735 жыл бұрын
yeah, that's a real problem on youtube. I even stumbled on a youtube video of a man teaching people how to do it, and which animals generate the most views....kittens. It's disgusting.
@jontonian5 жыл бұрын
@@sarahbrown5373 Wow...dear God are you kidding? How evil is that! Do you know if that video is still up on you tube? Thanks for your support of these poor animals. I have 7 rescued cats. I know that kittens are the most used and abused.
@sarahbrown53735 жыл бұрын
@@jontonian I don't know, but I'm sure that it wasn't the only one out there. I report channels when they're obvious enough for youtube to be able to clearly tell there's abuse or fraud. There's one that gets talked about a lot by people who have seen it, where the guy nearly drowns a puppy so that he can "rescue" it, but it's usually kittens, and you can tell that it's a set up. There's one channel that keeps spamming popular rescue channels with his made-up story.....every single time he shows up, he has just rescued a cat who was in a shopping centre and had seven kittens. Always the same. They "feed 35 cats every day from my own pocket", or rescue hundreds of cats every week.....they've all got very similar stories, which tells me that they're learning from basically the same place. If you try to pin them down by asking for verifiable information about the shopping centre, or the pet store that abandoned the cat, they disappear. He got himself into trouble the first time he tried the story, because he claimed that a heavily pregnant cat, which was only a few days away from giving birth to seven kittens had been thrown out by a pet store in the shopping centre because the pet store said that nobody wanted a pregnant cat. Of course, that one stood out because everyone realised that the store would only have needed to feed the cat long enough to sell the biggest draw any pet store can have....seven kittens. When one of the people reading that story tried to pin the poster down to name and number of the pet store, he stopped commenting, and disappeared. I reported one channel that was sexually abusing kittens while pretending to bathe them. It was vile. Fakes are easy to spot after you've watched a few of them, because the set-up is so similar....it really is as if they've all learned from the same playbook. Every single time I see them, I report them as spam, scammers and frauds. One that I kept reporting started setting up a new channel with his videos (I saw the new one) because he knew that his channel was about to get shut down. You could probably find videos by searching, which I'm sure is what these frauds do. One guy even claims to feed 200 cats every day. He spams other peoples' channels trying to ask for subs and donations. The ones that make me really angry are the ones that torment kittens in order to get views, like "kitten crying for food", where they have a kitten begging for food for a couple of minutes while they film it instead of feeding it. They want you to watch the video long enough for them to get paid, so they make the kitten wait, hungry, while they film long enough to hopefully get monetised. It's a very wicked world out there sometimes. The thing that makes me the most angry is how many people fall for the sob stories.....I've even seen some of them read that standard story and straightaway ask if the person has paypal so that they can send a donation.....which is precisely what the frauds want. Some people just throw cash, give subs, all without thinking or checking the "rescuer" out thoroughly. That's why they keep going, even getting a new channel set up if they think they're about to be shut down. It's big money for them, and they don't care how many kittens they harm in the process.
@jontonian5 жыл бұрын
@@sarahbrown5373 Hello Sarah...Thank you very much for taking the time to write out your thoughts and experiences. Most of all thank you for what you do for theses poor animals. You have giving me inspiration and direction to take more action myself. Thanks again. You are A true human being.
@sarahbrown53735 жыл бұрын
@@jontonian thanks. The more of us who turn these frauds in, the more of them will get shut down. KZbin is getting even more strict in the coming year, making the process quicker, so if more of us look for these frauds and follow the reporting instructions, more of these guys could find out that this particular fraud isn't worth their time....I hope. Animal abuse is never ok. If you report the single comment using that report link at the top of the comment, that isn't quite as effective as going the longer route by reporting the entire channel. Do you know how to do that? If not, I'll show you, and thank you for taking action! I hope more people will.
