​@@spl1011 It definitely has. I have a SMSR which tops at 135. When used properly (pre heat using Google Maps) you start with the max at 135 everytime between 0-25%. It maintains well up to 100 until above 60%. And that is the SRSM being the slower one. So major improvements.

I wish every EV had this consistent charging curve like the e-tron has. Of course with better consumption.

@@salipander6570 Well. Not really. A Tesla for instance may gain more km/time unit, but only within a specific state of charge. If i want to take a break and the car has over 40% SOC i don't get good charging speed. If i want to have the best speed i have to drive it all the way down to 10 or 5%. So the car dictates when i have to take a break. And there has got to be a charging station available at that time. With the E-Tron or the BMW i3 a can just stop whenever I want and i will always get the best charging speed. I find this way more convenient and so i would prefer the consistent charging curve.

I'm contemplating starting a petition to have a button on the touch screen added, to allow for battery heating, for the Chevrolet Bolt/Opel Ampera-e. I think the owners of all EVs with this problem should join together and systematically lobby each company individually, to be able to make this a feature. All that is required in most cases is minor software modification.

Thank you Bjørn for another great video! It would be nice to watch 2 races between EQC VS E-tron 55. The first one in areas where Fortum/Grønn Kontakt chargers only deliver 50-62 KW (most areas in Norway) and where the speed limit is 60-90km/h. This way the winner will not be based on the charging speed but efficiency and regen capabilities (probably better conditions to win for the EQC). The second one in an "Ionity - Circle K" area with over 150Kw chargers on the motorway (100-110 km/h) this way charging speed could help E-tron to beat the EQC despite the higher consumption.

Great video thanks is that with odb2 dongle for abrp or just it Estimating it self ? I can’t get it to Estimate it within about 10-15 % so I’m not impressed hoping for better or is this with paid for version?

No need for OBD2. That was just for ScanMyTesla. Check out ABRP and you'll see.

Björn, just check the charging curve of the Polestar provided by fastned. Its simply ridiculous how slow it charges. I love the curve of my E-Tron, plug it somewhere below 80% and you will get consistent 150kW

I dont think it's coldgating, more of an unoptimized BMS and really early beta of the cars software. Lets hope they can fix it, because the Polestar 2 is a great car and it should do a lot better. I think threre are a lot to be gained in improvement.

Hi Bjorn, Because people in the Facebook groups get lower usage with low or No regen settings. Maybe that safes compare te high regen settings if for example car in front of you is not driving on stable speed where the car has to brake and trotle all the time in stead of driving at selected speed continuously.

@@Go2Results as Bjørn says it is irrelevant on highways and long driving. On a trip like this you probably only would regenerate once or twice. And e-tron does not care how you brake.

Nice vid. With heater on and driving 15km/h faster like Polestar, the consumption of the Etron would be around 240-250wh/km i guess which is somewhat high for average 100km/h i think. 🤔

I only drove slower the last 45mins and with the heater of for the last 20mins, so the difference would still be similar :)

Just looked at the E-tron prices after this video. €37k difference in price between the cars, wow! I think the Polestar didn't even do too bad in that case.

Yes but E-Tron drove 84km/h average and Polestar 99km/h. So its more than 5% :) Plus heater off in E-Tron and drafting

When I did range test, e-tron had only 1 % heat loss at 120 km/h vs 90 km/h test. Whereas Polestar had 4 % loss. Estimated real consumption on both cars are then: - e-tron: 228 Wh/km - Polestar: 225 Wh/km

Both cars drove at the same speed about 95 % of the time. e-tron slowed down only at the very end. Proof was shown yesterday during live stream and on Glympse (but not recorded).

@@mozzimozz4074 No you are not wrong. If the audi stands still , the time increases. You can see it also see it in kris rifa vid. THe same screen at the end, that bjorn shows in his vid, but taken 10 minutes before (at 19h39), shows still 87km/hour average and 6h59 total time.

If Chris had to use the heater and drive at normal speed, Bjorn charged to 25% with better estimation software, the time gap would be even smaller!

Yes, the gap should be about 10 minutes. Just as ABRP estimated.

Comparing average consumption in this test gives somehow misleading information how thirsty these car are, as you drove them pretty differently. 99 km/h in 6h19m for PS2 vs 84km/h in 7h14m for the Audi. Approximately the same distance.

The audi, gives the total time, that they drove, including charging stops. (they started around 12h48 and ended around 19h48.

Exactly. If you watched the race, you would have seen that we drove exactly the same. Except for the end where Kris slowed down a bit.

@@axelengstrom506 If you watch the video to the end you'll see I arrived around 13-14min before Bjørn. I also only "slowed" down a little the last 45mins of the trip, but not my more that 7-8kph. Så not much difference in it.

I don't think you understood what people were telling you. Let me make it very clear: 1. We drove exactly at 10 % over the speed limit 2. The reason why Audi had low average speed was because Audi counts when "ignition" is on. Kris had the Audi powered on while he charged. That's why the speed appeared to be lower. Polestar doesn't count average speed while stationary and charging.

@@bjornnyland I tried drafting once behind a Sprinter at 120km/h for ~10 km on a flat highway amd got my comsumption down to 110/120 Wh/km (M3 DM LR, Mud Flaps, 19" Tesla Rims (non aerodynamic ), Hankook Summer Tyres in early Summer ~20°C to 25°C. Love your Chanel BTW, watching it since 2012 or so... your one of two guys who made me buy a M3 (The other is Horst Lünning). Thanks for all you do. Great shiet ;-)
