Tom is AWESOME! It was a pleasure running (pun intended... doh!) into him on the course. Love the Sit-Rep reviews (and the included geological/historical info). Agreed completely with the review, first time for us in Seattle for a Spartan and was a really fun race. Looking forward to Dallas!

and to add the parking was a non-issue, much better than the shuttle(s)

If you like rocks you’re gonna love the long rocky creek river bed! That course is famous for it. See you at Twin Canyons!

I like the adding heavy carries to the penalty loops, as a competitive racer. What I do NOT like is the recent move to add burpees back to the Spear Throw (instead of penalty loop) for competitive waves. Competitive burpees were a nightmare to regulate, video tape, arguments, etc. Spartan keeps running in circles frantically with the big rules changes every year instead of innovating on new obstacles. Rant over, I know most people don't care about the competitive side.

Couldn’t agree more! Spartan should be focussing on creating new obstacles, not all this other stuff!

Hey, to clarify. The second Sprint on Sunday was jammed up and I just defaulted to using it as a recovery run. The rest of the events were competitive and I ran age group. For these races, the earlier you ran the better, and you avoided the backup. It was just the second Sprint on Sunday that was the issue.

Im always baffled by people complaining about having to walk a long distance to an event where they are going to challenge there physical capabilities 🤔. Like a swimmer complaining about getting wet 😅

yes, i had one couple on the course shocked that we were gonna have to trudge along the river and get wet lol

Right?!? Insane. You figure you're going to an event where you are going to run 3, 6, 13, or more miles... What's the big deal of walking 400 yards in a parking?

Ha!

The finish line was so anti climatic. No buildup or fire logs to jump over. No one even taking a picture when you crossed. Just finish the multi rig and right around the immediate corner was the finish line.
@dolphinalex3 ай бұрын
i agree that was surprising. It was disappointing
@tomk77773 ай бұрын
@@demhandz2736 totally agree. Everything bunched up at the end was a mess. I had to do 30 burpees at the end of the beast while staring at the finish line. Not great.
