$60k-$70k for something like a Hellcat, Red eye, or a C8, z06, or something else high performance is fairly reasonable, especially compared to other brands in the same category and given the fact our dollar has lost so much value, but when the average family vehicle, as well as the constantly pushed EV's seem to be well over 50k, that's a problem.

Not gonna happen... the C8 Corvette sales are on fire now and the Corvette hasn't been this popular since several decades. Like other commentators stated, GM is not going to let another sports/ pony car or performance brand cannibalize their sales. Forget the Camaro or Trans Am... what would be really cool and make the most sense is a new Chevelle muscle car now that the Challenger is discontinued. It's ripe for the taking. Make it retro/modern style like outgoing third gen Challenger. A large Chevelle two door with similar dimensions to the Challenger, useful trunk, revised Alpha platform, LT1 motors, base, SS, and ZL1 trims. Wishful thinking because that eouls absolutely put a huge dent in GM's baby the Corvette. GM you don't need another sports car you have the outstanding Corvette. As you stated RacerX, the current problems with Dodge are due to parent company Stellantis and the EPA. Due to the EPA and CAFE, Stellantis was being charged too much in fees for the Hemis. In 2016, Ford began producing its twin turbo 3.0 V6 and began cutting down on V8 engines by 2020. That might be the thing that has gotten Stellantis to drop V8 production, even though the Mustang still offers the 5.0. Stellantis could have been smarter by continuing production of the 5.7 by reworking the engine and producing different variants, such as hybrids, HO, and supercharged. Look at how smart Chevy has gotten with the V8 in the C8 Corvette. If we look back in automotive history, let's not forget about how popular the Buick Grand National was even though it was a turbocharged V6 and didn't have the aggressive sound of a V8 like that of the C4 ZR-1 and Fox Body 5.0. So if Dodge and Stellantis are good with marketing and the Hurricane Chargers impress car magazines, hopefully the Hurricane Chargers will become successful and will pave way to a bright future for ICE-powered Mopars.

I'm a diehard Ford Mustang fan and am generally a Ford fan boy through and through. My grandfather worked for Ford, and my uncle worked there as well. we were always a Ford family. With that said, being the gear head that I am, I could always appreciate the other brands from the big three in Detroit when they came out with something bad ass and when the Hellcats came out Dodge caught me hook line and sinker! The Hellcats came out, the Viper was still available and the Dodge marketing department started putting out the coolest most bad ass TV commercials for a mainstream auto manufacturer that have ever existed and then RoadKill nights started. I'm from the Detroit area so I've been to every RoadKill nights since the first one! Tim K and the SRT team gave us the Demon, the Trackhawk, Widebody Hellcats, Redeyes, TRX, and Hellcat Durango! Needless to say, I was converted to a moparian! I've owned a 2015 Charger R/T, a 2019 Charger 392 Scatpack, and I now currently own a 2019 Challenger Hellcat REWB and a 2023 Ram TRX! Tim, the Dodge marketing department, and the SRT design an engineering team literally made me love these machines so much that I was inspired to start my own real estate business so that I could afford a Hellcat one day. I aspired to own a Hellcat since August of 2014 and on May 30 2023 I bought my brand new TRX (I ordered a 2023 Charger Hellcat Redeye but when it finally showed up my dealer sold it out from under me to someone else that offered over msrp, so, I went to a different dealership and bought my TRX instead) and then on January 15 2024 I took possession of my slightly used 2019 Challenger Hellcat REWB that I bought and had shipped home to MI from CA. One owner car, 1400 original miles, Destroyer Gray Redeye Widebody! It breaks my heart to see what Tim and the SRT team created over the last decade be dismantled by the new leadership within Stellantis. I always knew in my heart that these recent shifts were not Tim Kuniskis. I'm sure he fought for the brotherhood and for the Hemi which is probably why he ended up leaving. He holds an invaluable amount of experience and knowledge that is so desperately needed in these volatile times. Being a sub-60 year old he has at least 5 years left to invest with a company that respects his input. Even if it's behind closed doors it's better than letting another true car guy be squeezed out by the corporate machine.

I'd be embarrassed to work for a company that constantly rebrands itself to try to stay afloat but continues to produce the junk that chrysler has and continues to do.

RacerX! Big fan of your channel, not just because of your Dodge escapades, but because you showcase fast cars regardless of make or model. However, I feel like I got clickbaited by you with this video, which was labeled ‘the real reason’ and ended with you saying only Tim and his closest know the real reason. I am good with your educated guesses as long as you are honest in presentation. Still, I am a big fan!

im not a dodge guy but yes he deserves a ton of credit for the Hellcat program. he made dodge relevant and a benchmark in terms of performance. people still talk about if something is faster than a hellcat

Great video Paul . You allways hit the nail right on the head . I agree Tim Kuniskis is a Legend !! Keep the Faith buddy i think as soon as we get you know who back in the drivers seat its going to be DRILL BABY DRILL and V8's forever and EV's will be hitting the trash can for good !! Its coming !!!!

I never even cared about dodge until the hellcat came out and got mine in 2017, was one of the most fun cars ive ever had. Tim is a legend!

Your candid and heartfelt thoughts are appreciated and welcomed, thank you. Indeed Stellantis has dealt Dodge and all the domestic brands a tough hand to play. Suspiciously we can support the unthinkable that at root is a desire to rid the domestic American operation of both Dodge and Chrysler. Current circumstances could point to that awful conclusion. In any case, Tim’s legacy will live on in the Dodge products he conceived and the smiles they will put on his customers faces for decades to come. The word “classic” comes to mind. A remarkable achievement by any standard.

I think it honestly sucks that Tim had to leave that way… hopefully he finds another company within the top 4. If he does something cool somewhere else, I’d buy it.. the hurricane six 6 actuallymake the same HP at the wheel as the TRX with a Burger Motorsports JB4 tuner! My RHO will be one of the 1st! The second I find out on the building process I’m going to order my JB4 to get this thing ripping. Great updates, sir.

Great video. Yes the Hemi even though very loved is a very emissions unfriendly engine! It was back in the muscle car era too! Stellantis is pushing the company to how they do it in Europe. Tim did fantastic things along with his team. I hope we see Tim pushing horsepower at another manufacturer someday. Tim mostly have to sign an NDA agreement and probably a so many non competitive agreement for so many years!

I understand the history of mopar and the hemi, but they could've made a v8 and kept the brotherhood of muscle alive if stellantis wanted to keep the fans happy.

I live in Southeast Michigan and work in Clinton Township, in 2014 I stopped at speedway Gas Station, early morning 2 A.M and 2 prototype Challenger hellcats pulled up and filled up with gas, both drivers walked into store bought water as I did. I walked out and I approached one of drivers and ask one of driver's for photo of car, Lady said no sorry no photo, but I walked by car as She open door and had seen this piece of equipment with lots of wires plugged into equipment took up whole passenger seat, other driver came out got in his car both took off very fast down road. And got into my 2007 P.T. Cruiser and drove home really excited what I had seen (Hgh Mopar fan all my life). That my memory of early Hellcat Challenger they were spotted by my co-workers same area at other times leading up to introduction of Hellcat Challenger

I still don't fully understand why they need to get rid of the V8s. Does anyone know much were the credits costing them per vehicle, and why they couldn't just fold that into the price like they Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.?
@gerryfinch20144 ай бұрын
Walter Chrysler was a car guy and engineer. Mopar was known for their advanced engineering. I hope to see a return to that. Fastest car I ever had was a Monaco Police ( ex CA Highway Patrol)

My issue is that Dodge/Stellantis could have redesigned with a new OHV V8, while simultaneously creating an EV line. Take a page from Ford. Do both!

Tim actually went to the ceo of stellantis and asked to build a new gen hemi and he was denied by carlos tavares who is head of stellantis. Dodge can’t do anything without stellantis making the final call. Ford isn’t owned by a parent company so they can make their own decisions, where dodge can’t.
@HighTechBull5 ай бұрын
@@BLTwithmustard Because Ford is the parent company and have been making cars designed for the European market for decades. All the other US manufacturers have been short sighted and screwed up their European presence and dropped out of those markets.

Dodge is going to go the way of Saturn, Saab, Pontiac, and many others sadly. The ceo has fully admitted to being fully electric and has zero signs of slowing down that agenda

Well said bud, with me being more of a Ford guy, Tim and Dodge did make Ford, and Chevy get into a catch up of horsepower war against them, and out doing them with the hellcats, redeyes, and Demons that the other two can't get close enough to.

30 plus years !!! I would retire take my money and just enjoy life, We also lost both Mark Allen and Jim Morrison over at Jeep both of them retired as well. All 3 of them were 30 years. There were a handful of others who left as well. A lot of blame is being placed on slowing sales which we all know why that is $$$$ I guess I will see where this goes, I will continue to support the Brands for as long as it takes.

Yes Tim has a top notch history when it comes to the Hellcat. Nevertheless he was the leader of the team that promoted the vacuum sounding Banshee. You were there Racer X when he had his big introduction of the Banshee. Let's not forget that Tim was the head of Dodge when the 2021 Durango Hellcat owners were tricked into believing that 2021 was the only year for the Dodge Hellcat.

I don't blame Tim at all. I blame Stellantis. I have zero interest in the hurricane engine or the EV. Yes I know that they can be faster than the V8, but I don't race. I just enjoy the sound of the V8. So no new Dodge for me.

Couldnt agree more Racer X. It has to be soul sucking to be a car guy running a company with gov mandates forcing you to comply or penalizing you out of existance. I hope things change soon next year that let companies again offer what consumers want. Not what they are told to have.
