Been on orange since '14, with no reason to switch in sight, for MX & offroad. Make have to check out the Yamaha T7 DS, if they ever get it out...then again, the KTM 790 will get a look, too. ;)

Air forks...hmm. weather changes really irritate me with these diva forks. Why switch from spring-oil to air??? Any helpful info would be great. Hate wasting my time constantly dialing them in including switching expensive stiffer internals. Real drag, W.P. !!!!!!!!!! ( I'm a long retired 225lb older rider but STILL LOVE to race)
@traavdasav6 жыл бұрын
andrew gates these forks are like hybrids, I road an 18 factory edition and was really surprised at how nice they felt, the wps are far better then the showas. If you ever get a chance to ride an 18 you’ll be sold

HansonMoto: funny u say that cause I was just told to go try an '18. Thing is...I live in a climate (Ontario Canada) that has +35 to -35 and I want one bike for both winter AND summer riding. I will be putting a Yeti winter sledbike package on it, and almost motocross package come summer. I am very competitive, love to race in both winter and summer. What is your climate like???
@traavdasav6 жыл бұрын
andrew gates I’m down here in socal and I’m used to kyb springs so when it comes to climate and airs I can’t help much, all I can say is that socal mx they work well haha. Hope you find a setting you’re looking for, if you willing to cough up the bucks maybe you can do a spring conversion?

@@traavdasav This is a hard sell when Yamaha has a great spring fork set ready to go IMO.

Probably the best sounding 450 but if you get this over the Yamaha your dumb its more expensive and doesn't come with an app
@John-ro3ol7 жыл бұрын
Actually, the KTM is hands down a much better bike and you'll have to dump another 2-3k into the YZF to make it competitive and drop some of that extra 20 plus lbs it has
@mikebrown411827 жыл бұрын
For who? I am 100% convinced the laptimes for the average rider would be pretty much the same. Its just colours these days. Even do KTM absolutely comes with stock components that is quality.

dustin scheller are you blue biased much! Yamaha $9199 USD www.yamahamotorsports.com/motocross KTM 450SXF $9599 USD dirtbikemagazine.com/2018-ktm-mxers-more-details/ 350SXf Price: $9399 I love Yamaha's last of the best Japanese brands imo, that said if you take the bikes without a brand bias for value you can't beat Husky or KTM The fact you also have a 350 choice is incredible and I applaud both of them for making a 350model, they actually understand the market. For $300 extra 450f $100 extra for 350f you get billet triple clamps, billet hubs, Hydraulic clutch, best brakes in the market by a long ways, Brembo, lightest and slimmest bike! For the average rider weight is huge the fact that they have a 350f means engine inertia makes for an even lighter feeling bike and it's better to rider a lower capacity bike fast than a big capacity bike slow! Facts are facts, Yamaha make a dam good bike and good bikes period prob the best stock suspension if splitting hairs, the app is a nice feature but it's not as compelling as the map switch imo, both options are great and again well done Yamaha for coming up with that tech. But not having switchable map on the bars is still imo a step back from KTM and Husky and more likely most people will stuff up they're maps. These bikes look like 125s and are the top level period.

MaverickDH right now I have a Honda in my garage

dustin scheller ah nice, what size year? I still like Hondas too, the Japanese just frustrate me in the current environment, love hate relationship with them, partly because exception of Yamaha how they turned they're back on 2t, won't get over that one lol, I do like the look the newer gen Hondas, esp the 450! And still intrigued and miffed by the 18 250f it looks unique but I can't help thinking that will be an expensive bike to race/own overly complicated vs less complicated bikes that do the same thing, I could be wrong it will be interesting but such a high revving ending every with so many extra parts must be higher cost, course then they added more weight and weight is always had been to me a key req for a bike! It still looks sick though twin everything and all.
