This race of what appear to be sentient cacti live in a village that's just 2 screens in a single area (The Desert of Doubt) in a single game (FSA), and interacting with them _at all_ is entirely optional to pass through said area. And yet, even this tiny group has some lore because it was their ancestors who built the pyramid that serves to guard the evil trident what would eventually become Ganon's signature weapon in many other games.

I think it's pretty obvious they evolved into kokiri, with two reasons that back it up: 1. After the hero of the skies saved them multiple times, they started wearing green clothes that looked like his clothes in his honor (reason why the kokiri wear grean clothing) 2. Kikwi, Kokiri and Korok all have K's in them, but Kikwi uses I's as the only vocal, and Korok uses O's. Kokiri, however, uses both, implying they are the in-between evolution of Kikwi to Korok

Either way, boy do I wish the Twili would return again... and the Minish would be nice too. Love those little buggers.

I feel pirella either evolved into or we ousted as the dominant aquatic species. The kikwi probably became korok or deku, or the plant species in the zelda series appearance are determined by the tree that spawned them, the oot tree favoring humanoid shape spawned little humans, the one that sprouted after decided on a less human shape. I get that spirit tracks has a new hyrule, but it is in a new location. The species of that land are rhe natives, hylians being new there.
@bengarrett49842 ай бұрын
I suppose it's to soon to call the zonai a forgotten race. But considering there were two of them in Hyrule a billion years ago and they both died, i am doubtful they are going to make any major appearances any time soon. That said, how cool would it be if the zonai were the badguys in a new game. Warriors of light coming to avenge their kin after they were killed in a Hylian war. It's a nice change of pace from always fighting against darkness.

I think the Kikwi evolved into the Kokiri and then into the Koroks. They have similiar names that could actually be ethymologically related to each other and Kikwi and Koroks both share the plant based body parts and the habit to hide themselves. Also Kikwi and Koroks kinda look similiar. Also there is the theory that the Kokiri only looked human like because the Deku-Tree changed them to be more similiar to Link in OoT and the Koroks being their actual appaerance.

Watarara and Zuna come to mind. The Zuna especially because I've played through FSA so many times with four players. The game means a lot to me. Speaking of the Zuna, I had a theory before TotK that I think would have worked really well for their history. --- The Zuna are a race first (and thus far, only) encountered in the Desert of Doubt in Four Swords Adventures. They are a race of green-skinned nomads who exist alongside the Gerudo. Weirdly enough, we only meet them later in the timeline as Four Swords Adventures is the latest game in the Child Era. I say weirdly enough because (and this is Hyrule Historia so make of it what you will) the Zuna are the descendants of the tribe that built the [ancient] pyramid. Although I can't find that the pyramid was ancient in the game itself, it appears to be weathered, the Zuna are the "descendants" which implies age, and the stone inscription is engraved on a broken and weathered stone as well as being written in an ancient language (likely Zuna-ese since their ancestors built the pyramid). That stone inscription, by the by, explains the purpose of the weapon ensconced beneath it. That weapon is the Trident. The inscription reads in part, "Evil...spirit of magic trident." and indicates that the wielder of the Trident will be the King of Evil. It is said that Ganondorf entered the pyramid and stole the Trident; we later see Ganon wielding it. As an aside, I'll introduce a tangential point that I've discussed before. Gerudo normally have brown skin but Ganondorf, Koume and Kotake, and Veran (I only THEORIZE that she may be related because of the skin color and the Gerudo symbols on her clothes and relationship to Koume and Kotake. Remember Onox also wore Gerudo symbols and looked like an iron knuckle but had lighter skin) have greenish skin. Wild speculation but perhaps this skin color indicates some kind of relation to the green-skinned, desert-dwelling, nomadic, Gerudo adjacent Zuna? And now the point and the subsequent eye-rolling... Zuna ≈ Zonai? The ancient and mysterious tribe that lent evil power to Ganondorf? It's fun to speculate wildly.

I specifically wanna know what happened to the loftwings and the Picori. Part of the reason is because I want to traverse Hyrule in the fashions that those two creatures allowed us to. Also the loftwing is literally a part of the Triforce and logo, so it's sad that they're relevance dissapeared.
@KeiranTrick3 ай бұрын
Loftwings aren't part of the Triforce, they're part of the royal family's crest. That's monumentally different! Of course, that doesn't diminish the fact that they were so important to the way of life of the first peoples of Hyrule. Before inhabiting the surface, they were life companions, vehicles, tools, etc. Part of everyday life, and clearly cherished enough to become part of the very symbol of the new kingdom itself. They couldn't have just 'disappeared' or died out without records of how or why! For the Picori, it's a bit more understandable that we don't hear anything about them. Even in the Minish cap, they were already seen as myths if the NPC even knew about them at all. I like to imagine they're still around, just very secretive, and maybe one day we'll have a new Link stumble into their realm long after even the stories of the 'Minish' have faded.
