I know this tutorial was made 3 years ago but this my first time viewing it. I noticed that you shared in this video that real silk draws moisture out....but this statement is not true. Actually silk is better and most definitely better than any other material scarf to tie your hair in. It helps to retain moisture, helps to bring a shine and silkiness to your hair. Helps to prevent breakage and helps to keep elongation to those hair strands when wrapping your hair. I have used silk scarfs when I had a relaxer in my hair and now on my natural hair and in both instances the silk scarfs have helped in maintaining the health of my hair. I have been natural for 3 years now and found that cotton scarfs are definitely a no no and satin scarfs are just ok. For optimal results for maintaining your wonderful natural hair, 100% silk scarfs are your best friend. For those who are skeptical please feel free to do your own research and try a silk scarf for yourself. You most likely won't find a 100% silk scarf in your beauty supply store. Your can try online and at your local fabric store where you can taylor the size of your fabric. Other than that one issue, I did enjoy this tutorial. Not trying to be messy just feel we can all benefit from one another with knowledge....Im still learning each day from all my personal and KZbin natural sisters!!!!!

Hi Phylis!! Thanks for your feedback. Silk takes on many different forms so this may be true of some of the forms. I test out my materials by doing a water or oil test on them. When they are clean and come in contact with moisture they will absorb until the available space between the fibers or the weave are filled. They will then form a very slick feel to them that will not draw in moisture because it is at capacity or it is already filled. That is just the nature of natural fabric. They enjoy moisture because moisture is a good thing in nature. This is the reason that we all dread the idea of dropping even the smallest drop of oil or water on a silk garment. The fabric will very quickly get the moisture deep into the weave of the fabric leaving an oil stain or a water mark. I am happy that this has worked for you, but I have not personally come across any silk that does not love to absorb moisture.

oh wow!! Im going to try this!😊😉 I've honestly never really thought it was possible to wrap our natural hair lol smh😂😂😂😂😕😕😕 Quick question, can I try it on dry, stretched natural hair?
@NayeLoveArt19928 жыл бұрын
Thanks! :) & I finally got the curved bobby pins they work great! I tried both the wet & dry wrap, it takes less time then trying to re-twist or banding methed my curls every time but keeps my hair from being matted down :) Its a great way to stretch my hair out as well as banding.

TFS. I am going back to the CG method because of the great moisture training it does for my hair but I always fall off the wagon due to single strand knots I think because of shrinkage even when I wash three times a week. Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated 😉

Hey! Loved your video! I have two questions for you, if you don't mind. Where did you get these pins? Do you think this can be done before flat ironing, as a way to avoid blow drying?
@kaywayneflor899 жыл бұрын
Like @rachealcpr said in the video why she doesnt use gel when doing this your hair will come out smooth/straightThis is what I do to wear a straight style, when I do it my hair comes out just like the kanekalon kniky straight hair you buy in a package. I use a leave in conditioner and a setting lotion (lotta body) or foam wrap lotion (motions or Jane Carter). After you can do twist/bantu's etc. Or a flat iron. My hair is course 3c/4a for reference. @rachealcpr excellent as always!
