Energy security - no; Border security - no; Social Services security - no; NHS security - no; Water and sewerage security - no; Roads and infrastructure security - no; Defence security - no. Governments over the last 50 years have given us virtually nothing for all the taxes they have extracted from us.

As one of the Engineers who rescued the Rough Storage Platform, and the Morecambe Bay Project, and oversaw the design and development of Germany’s first HVDC offshore platform, l consider my opinion is a valid one. NetZero in the UK is not effective, or indeed in Germany. The mix has to be nuclear for baseload, and gas for peak shaving, with renewables say 10-20%. Politicians are great at destroying economies, jobs, wealth and stability, but as the man said - the laws of nature and physics are no respecter of politics.

Most pundits and UK politicians display a profound misunderstanding of China, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and the intricacies of the Chinese economy. Rachel Reeves’s visit to China is akin to leading a lamb to the slaughter. She lacks both the experiential knowledge and the practical expertise necessary to navigate dealings with China effectively. By the time she departs and returns home, it will be the Chinese who have gained the upper hand-gleaning valuable insights into her, the Labour Party, and the current state of the United Kingdom. And that's me being kind in my appraisal of this visit. Labour are ideologues, driven by blind adherence to their dogma, and this makes them a clear and present danger to the UK. Their ideological fixation, whether deliberate or born of sheer ignorance, is tearing the country apart. This isn’t about left or right any-more-it’s about survival. The nation cannot afford to be governed by those who prioritise political agendas over competent management. It’s time to move beyond the outdated and destructive divide of left and right politics. What the UK needs now is practical, effective leadership focused solely on good governance and the well-being of its people. We must restore a sense of public duty-leaders who view their role as a service to the nation, not a platform for ideological crusades. Anything less will lead to disaster.

Some like Reeves is who China's been waiting for to get in as chancellor. But to get a terriblely easy to misled Chancellor and a basically a clueless Prime Minister who will obey any 'international treaty' no matter how negative it is for the UK, it is a once in a century Golden moment. China's been waiting for this for years, they knew Labour will be the easier to manipulate. China will play Reeves like a violin, she is has no idea who she is dealing with. China is not like the European Nations or their leaders, China's leader are all about China, dominance and control. To be honest most Politicians in the West can't handle or understand the Chinese method, Only really Trump is the most recent I've seen understand China and their methods. You can't talk to China like you do with the EU for example.

Been saying that for decades, but people are so dumb and badly educated they don’t want to understand. Belief in what is possible only comes from feasibility studies by educated people, Chartered Engineers and Scientists. Others are shouting and crying in the political wind, or soon will be 😡

I agree. I don't believe anyone can be this incompotent and stupid. Therefore, is it a deliberate act of sabotage against the UK? This trip to China is starting to look sinister.

The government is incompetent but the reason the UK has a lower storage capacity than our European neighbours is partly because of our high LNG processing capacity. Obviously, it's still not good enough.
