First thing when we got to our new apartment is Poki ran from room to room, stopping in each doorway just staring at the room in awe. He checked every single room and then was at home right away! Our cats basically didn't need any adjustment, and they are SO HAPPY to have way more room to run around!! We actually have a hallway now that they love chasing each other down. And just the other day we got our kitchen cabinets, and the cats have already made themselves at home on top of them! Can't wait to make videos in our new apartment! :D

Before we pack this, let's make sure the owner takes the cash out. (Barely a dollar...) 4. Before moving anything, let's pad up the building. 5. Cleans shit before packaging. 6. Listing which compartment each piece of cutlery goes, so it's in the exact same place after moving. 7. Sofa chair? WRAP IT UP! Cat tower? WRAP IT UP! 8. Reusable purpose designed packaging! 9. Any little doubt, asks the owner. 10. Gets permission for everything. 11. Manual labor is more polite than most hotel concierges. Moving company in another country I've lived in. 1. Customer rep shows up in T-shirt. 2. Only the Customer rep addresses you. 3. Cash? Losers weepers, finders keepers. 4. Oops, we put a hole in the wall, shhhh. 5. Labels? I love that they have special boxes for specific things and a lot of them seem to be reusable, which is great because everyone that ever moved houses knows how much plastic and cardboard you waste on the move. They even have protection pads for the floor and the walls! This was incredibly satisfying to watch. Kudos to the moving company, those are some true professionals at work!

You know what I just realized when I kept watching this over and over? Their "special boxes" were mostly plastic boxes, with the exception to some stuff being cardboard. I'm assuming that after they're finished unpacking all the special boxes into the new apartment, it can be reused for any future uses when needed. That's a small detail that I like about this. Thumbs up for the special and reusable boxes :)

Yes indeed, the equipment is re-usable, however, depends on the companies policy. Usually corrugated boxes are not reused as the people usually keep them and only things like what the tv and kitchenware, shelves etc were being moved in would be re used

This is where plastic is super useful. Under the right circumstances i.e. for long-term use, plastic can be a great material. We have plastic fencing as our old wooden fencing needed creosoting every year, still rotted anyway, and eventually got damaged in a bad storm. No need to chop trees to replace our fencing.

I'm moving internationally from the UK to another hemisphere entirely and everything that's not furniture is packed in cardboard boxes (double walled corrugated cardboard). The removal companies that are accreditted to ship abroad all re-use their boxes until they are damaged - it's the trade union standard here. I've been to some companies' warehouses and they do indeed have stacks of previously used boxes all folded flat ready for re-use. It's interesting that this is clearly not the standard everywhere.

I think it depends on which company. Here in VN I had same problem whenever I moved, but after several times, I hired a famous company and things were much better. One person came to my house first to estimate my things and calculate cost & boxes. They didn't have "special boxes" for everything but they packed things properly and helped to reinstall bed and closet, etc...

I can’t stand that when they do that shit. I always say make sure you have help to help you move, and I always come up with a reason why I won’t be helping, (like I have other stuff I will be doing, because if I am paying, and I then need to help, I will only be paying you half then). They still try it and all I say is, no thank you, you can go and I will hire someone else. So now they have just lost any money they would have made and they have used up a work slot so. It works pretty well when they have to leave empty handed because they fucked up.

The consideration to the neighbors and giving out boxes of tissues or just something as an apology was amazing. Here in the US, you only find out you have a new neighbor when the U-Haul backs in, lol. Well, if it's an apartment, the cleaning might tip you off (if you're lucky to have an apartment that cleans before new tenants move in. No, people outside of the US, that's not normal so you very well could move into a dirty apartment and spend a whole day scrubbing before unpacking anything, making the move-in process even longer).

Japan is nice for the quality of services, the cleanliness, good manners of most people and others stuff... but trust me , japan is not that '' fabulous '' place that everyone describe. I lived there and the japanese way of life is very stressful, many aspects of life in japan are really corrupted ( the case of rapes and sexual touching which are too much common here , the indifference of the police with these issues, the cheating culture and others japanese behavior which is hard to understand or follow by foreigners...i definitely think that japan is a great place to visit, but living here for a long time... even if many aspect of japanese culture are great, there are more bad aspect (in my opinion) than great. The well-know japanese discipline is the only thing that make japan stay wonderful in the eyes of foreigners , but behind the scenes... is very different !

They're so polite and professional, and OH MY GOSH the organization and how well they wrap everything. It's AMAZING. Being a military kid, we moved a LOT, we lost lamps, computers and their monitors, televisions, and dozens of dishes no matter HOW well we boxed them up with EVERY move until we started using PODS and just doing it our damn selves. When I was little, my family hired a different famous Japanese moving company called Kuroneko Yamato. At that time I had a huge stuffed black panther, and I didn’t wanted to be packed. I asked them to treat it as a human. Then they put it to the passenger seat of that truck and transported from Osaka to Fukuoka. It was awesome!

Whenever I'm sad or not feeling well, I watch this video. I don't know what it is but it's like it's more engaging than just watching "satisfying" compilations but there's not a bunch of stuff going on that makes it overwhelming. This video legit gave me SO. MUCH. PLEASURE. AND HAPPINESS. the way they handled every step of this moving process was the most professional thing I have ever seen, and I have legit never ever seen anything like this anywhere else in the world, where moving is basically "meh toss that shit on the truck it'll be ok, even if it's starting to rain" like, just the mattress cover alone made me want to cry of happiness, such a joy to watch (I'm weird ok I know). From an environmental perspective, they use a lot of packing material and different custom boxes, but I notice they look like they're able to be reused and I assume they do reuse them since they don't have much opportunity to get damaged because these guys exhibit so much CARE in the move. Obviously things like paper won't be reused, but they can easily be recycled.

Japanese do seem to use a lot of packaging for everything, but they also have a really intense recycling system, compared to the US where we just throw a lot of stuff away. I guess it evens out in the end :)

Yeah, the custom boxes are temporary and are re-used after each move. The moving company collects them up again after all the stuff is in the new apartment or house. Every cardboard box and scrap of paper will be recycled, without fail. Japan has pretty strict laws when it comes to recycling. There are multiple garbage collections each week, each for a different type of material. Burnables on Tuesdays, plastics and other recyclables on Thursdays, etc.

Bella Beatz- japanese (and most eastern asian people in general, I believe?) are just very considerate of your own personal space and belongings. you’re the client but you’re treated with utmost respect, not just seen as the person who’s paying for the service tbh. we should all learn a bit from this, wish people would be like this as I absolutely despise people touching my personal stuff without permission beforehand.

This is the gold standard for moving services. As a person who intends to start a professional moving company I have to say this company knows what they are doing. Colour coded boxes and they also have boxes I have never seen in my life.
