Yes, invest in yourself and read books, but keep in mind that you can get those books for free through your local library!

Praise God, we have been done with all the baby steps for some time now, and we’re both just 55 years old. We have a whole year’s paycheck saved for emergencies, our son’s about to graduate from college in business management debt free, we’re investing 17% into our 401K, and now we’re just sitting back watching our million dollars grow by investing smart!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I worked until 72 to get the maximum s.s. and puchased a house in Austin in 2018, lease out. Moved to Austin in 2022 and retired in 2023. Living comfortably now.

Start early with diversified investments in stocks, bonds, and real estate. Maximize contributions to tax-advantaged accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs. Regularly review and adjust your strategy to ensure security.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Brian C Nelson.

I started years ago after paying off my car, I started putting that car payment into a savings account. Now I only pay cash for my cars! I buy a 2 year old car in good condition and keep it till it’s about 10 yo. If I need money for a car repair, I use my car 💵 in the savings acct. Simple, easy breezy!

Chose quality stocks and follow them up. If you're not one for such complexities, hire a wealth manager to grow your money. I use the latter.

All debt is paid off except ($16,000 - all under 4.3%) student loans. We currently have both a $1,000 emergency fund and 6 mo living expenses. My spouse and I are recent graduates and hoping to purchase our first home in the next few years. We are unsure whether to knock out our student loans before purchasing (which would likely decrease both of our 780 credit scores as our student loans are our oldest debts by far), OR put everything towards a downpayment to get as low of a mortgage as possible, then once in a home knock out student loans leaving us with no debt outside of mortgage. Both cars paid off zero credit card or personal debts. No children and no plans in the foreseeable future.

But once you pay off all your "debts," like your car and house, you still make monthly payments, though. Like car insurance, a phone plan, cable TV or streaming, and Amazon Prime. So I understand the "musts" should be paid off to free up and have more money, but you're almost always going to be paying for something monthly.

So where's the best high yield savings account that makes sinking funds fun? I'm still trying to make the transition in my brain from the balance line in my register to the every dollar budgeting tool. I personally would prefer something where each category/bucket has its own name, without having to open a separate account for each thing.

Adding JEPI and JEPQ is smart for retirement. When it comes to staying committed to low-risk investments, it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals.

@@dannielleemarie I believe a healthy portfolio has 3 things, at the bare minimum: Its Exposure to ETFs for increased diversification, Exposure to assets that generate cash flow like dividend stocks and Exposure to market-leading tech. These are really important for a good investment portfolio

@@Mitchellee-g2s Generally, I think a good number of people discredit the effectiveness of a certified fiduciary in planning for retirement, For the past 10years, I’ve had a CFA consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $3m in gains. It might not be a lot but then retirement doesn’t seem so farfetched anymore.

It's probably just the camera angle, or how she's facing the camera that makes it look that way. Most people don't look directly into the camera, and that can make things look disproportionate.
