I got my wife a puppy Dal this past Christmas. The puppy is deaf and female, we have two adult male Labrador dogs and we are still slowly introducing them to her (one at a time) but would like to start having her roam freely inside with both out. We notice that the regular corrections most adult dogs give to pups are falling on deaf ears and as a result they result in nipping and pinning her down, Any suggestions on how to make this process easier for all involved?

Hey Rachel! Thank you for your videos! Can you please make a video on how to get dogs to stop digging? My new puppy won’t stop digging and we don’t know what to do
@teenakhurana89504 жыл бұрын
Hi, what worked with my dog was when he did dig, I would say, "Stop digging," in a high voice. Then when he stops, give him a treat and praise him. He learned this in a week's time. I hope this helped! P.S- if you think your dog digs too much, it's completely natural. They often times wanna hide their food and then redig it out when they think is the best time. It's in their instinct. 😆

@mackingcheese4 жыл бұрын
@Just Ellie Well during dinner time putting him in his crate will keep him for doing that. Teaching the “leave it” command might help with him eating stuff off the floor. Also, dogs can eat human food, just not junk food. Things like apples, carrots, broccoli, and unseasoned meat can be healthy treats. Just don’t give them onions or garlic, avacado, chocolate, macadamia nuts, grapes or raisins, or caffeine of any sort, and don’t overfeed them.

Now I have an 8 week old Yorkie Russell who is super high energy. He’s very smart. Figured out the doggie door to go potty first night he was here . Do you have any baby steps training videos for hyper puppies with lack of focus. I didn’t introduce my two the way you did . But today, I actually witnessed my older dog allow the new puppy to crawl into her bed . They actually laid there together for awhile. She normally growls at him because he gets on her nerves due to the lack of energy compatibility. Thank you 😊

There’s a brand of dog food called Nature’s Logic that has really healthy ingredients and isn’t crazy expensive. It’s about $66 dollars for a 25 pound bag (price varies depending on the flavor) and they also make canned and raw food. It’s still a bit pricey but it’s really good quality and doesn’t have any junk in it so it’s worth the price.

@Rachel Fusaro thank you so much for all your videos. I am a first time pet owner and you have made training my puppy with his crate, potty training, bitting issues, and mental stimulation less stressful for the both of us. He’s is picking up on everything I am teaching him because of the advice you gave me. I am shocked how fast he is learning potty training and sleeping in his crate. I have bought like 70% of your recommended puppy items. They have been game changers in my house hold. Don’t get me wrong this whole thing is exhausting but so worth it because we are seeing so much progress in less than a week of bringing him home. He’s only 9 weeks and is almost potty and crate trained. I am soooo shocked. I will forever be grateful for your guidance. I just wanted to let you know that your advice is gold. For others to reference I have a little Frenchie and I got him at 8 weeks and on top of that he was malnourished because of prior owners and on several meds and he still succeeded. Thank you so much for this video! I love all of your content! My family just welcomed a new puppy (mini- golden doodle) named Oakley last month and he has really been benefiting from all of the tips and tricks that you recommended in your videos! We have been struggling lately though with getting our older dog (9 year old Yorkie named Lilly) to not growl at Oakley when he comes close to her. Lilly has cataracts (and has her own little attitude as most yorkies do), so we feel as if her responce to growling at Oakley when he barks at or comes close to her is for protection purposes, since she cannot see as well. Lilly also doesn't play as much anymore, and enjoys her personal space. Oakley is only 12 weeks and of course wants to play with Lilly. Oakley has played nicely with several other dogs, but Lilly is definitely challenging us. We have been trying to separate them more, and I feel as if they are slowly getting better over time. Do you have any other advise that we can utilize for this specific situation?

Hello. We just got a new puppy this past Saturday and, admittedly, we introduced our dogs to each other right off the bat. Our new puppy is 10 months old and needs a lot of emotional support, especially from other dogs. Our 5 y/o dog is quite jealous of the new puppy and has snapped at him a couple of times. We have a crate left over from a previous dog that has since passed on. Is it a good idea to start crate training him now three days in and, if so, what steps can we take to help the transition for our anxious puppy?

Hi Rachel, I have an unusual and unexpected situation, where very I got a 16-week-old puppy from an overwhelmed owner that was giving him away right the way. My first puppy 16 months old Australian Labradoodle is extremely social since he goes to the dog park since he is 8 weeks old, he is trained and very cool personality, never wanting to fight just play and play. Now because I didn't really have time to introduce them outside of the house, I just grabbed the new puppy outside on the supermarket and took him straight home to introduce him to my Labradoodle. My older pup and new puppy play and play all the time, I have not changed the older pup routine, so he feels like nothing have changed yet that he is having a little brother to play 24/7. It has been 13 days since I got the new puppy, yet I have noticed that my older pup does not want to listen to me anymore or hang out with me as much anymore. The new puppy is a 17-week-old puppy so he is next to me all the time and sleeps in the bedroom while the older pup right outside very close by (I leave the door open so he can come and goes if it would like). I don't know if is because the older pup entered adolescence stage now and he wants a "date" or is it because the new puppy. Even before the puppy came into the picture, I did notice a few time that my older pup won't listen or bring the ball back while fetching when he always used to. Sorry for the long story, yet would like your advice if is that is my current older pup is going tro teenager years (he is not neutered yet) or is it a reaction for me bringing a new puppy straight home without any neutral meet-up place. I confused cuz again they play 24/7 and they seem to love each other. Thanks Rachel

I just got a new puppy yesterday. A 8week old Australia Shepherd. He is a little shy and doesn’t seem interested in treats at all. He takes his puppy food okay but isn’t really motivated by it. I’m going to try some other treats and hope to find one that he likes. But do you have any recommendations to help a fearful puppy? I’d say he’s a lot more fearful than your average puppy. Thanks!

Hi, Rachel. Would this work if you're introducing a 9 year old male dog who was adopted to a 6 year old dog?

I would hope she slows down as sometimes I feel so overwhelmed I change the video. But I love her

Hi I need some help. My 3 1/2 month old golden doodle barks any time he goes in his crate. He stops after 15 or so minutes but at night after I take him out it ends up being 30 minutes before he gets settled. I’ve watch all your videos and used your ticks just not working

Try this! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2Kkl3SZoaqJh7c And remember, it will usually take at least a couple weeks of working on this before you could start seeing results. Give it time, you got this!

Hi Rachel I’m late but I’m just asking what is better since I’m not allowed to feed a fully raw diet. I could feed raw one day and kibble the next day or I could feed raw one time a day and kibble another time of the day

Thank You, Thank You for this fabulous practical, informative video!! We are bringing a new ALD home in 2 mo and have a very active 11 yo GoldenDoodle. He is well socialized and plays well with other dogs at weekly daycare visits, but home is different! You have provided me with some very useful, thoughtful information here. Will certainly hit the subscribe button!! 🐾❤️🐾💗
