I really appreciate this because I really hate a lot of the elitist comments I see from people in the pet community who act like poor people don’t deserve or shouldn’t have dogs because they don’t live in the suburbs, have a ginormous backyard, a 401k, and all the free time in the world. Lmao if I don’t abuse my dog, take him to the vet, and pay for the vet bills one way or another…I don’t see why I can’t have him

Thank you for the tips! I lost my bird companion and my dog I had for a decade months ago and after grieving, I’ve been starting to want a new dog companion, but my schedule is now very busy, although k work from home. I’m researching a lot so that I can find the best ways to keep my dog happy while I work and everything from routine to food! This channel has helped a lot. I’m determined to give the potential new puppy a great life!

Love this list. We're doing everything on this list for our boy, and he is a happy senior pupper. It baffles me that people don't provide their dogs with extra moisture during mealtime. Imagine eating only crackers every day and only drinking the bare minimum amount of water. Your body feels sluggish and crap. I've noticed a significant difference in the colour of his urine since switching to raw and adding fresh food (kefir, bone broth).

We feed our dogs kibble, but make sure they always have clean water and our goldendoodle gets ice cubes cause of the heat Edit: Though we started giving some leftover cooked chicken an fruits into the food when possible

I guess you have calm dogs or "normal". cus my dog has a lot of energy even though we play for 40 minutes like crazy. we play fetch at the park. and yes she gets a little tired but gets back and she is ready to go again after like 10 minutes of rest.

Thank you, I am a kid who is really intrusted in getting a dog of my own, especially the training aspect of it, my family has a business of our own, so we have to be careful what we spend, and I'm really hoping to get a puppy for my birthday, I love researching things (especially animal stuff) so I have been researching the food/diet aspect, I saw a video on this channel about how raw food is best, I researched that, too expensive. Freeze dried? Too expensive so I settled on whatever said breeder/foster has the dog on, this video comes out, it very helpful and I appreciate the inclusion of lower-paying owner of dogs.

I am really a sucker for border collies, australian shepherds, and bernese mountain dogs. But I'm not a huge fan of little dogs. But I probaly would never be able to get one of those because my family loves rescues (and so do i) currently we have a beagle-basset hound mix, and she's turning 7 soon :) what about you?

I love using Ollie’s baked kibble! Yes, it can be a bit costly, but it’s for my dog. Also, it is only available online as it is a subscription-based pet food company. Rachel’s done a review on Ollie before, but not specifically on their kibble though.

My dog will not let me cut his nails and they’re getting so long! He’s 150 pounds and really puts up a fight when I try to clip them. Ugh idk what to do. My vet doesn’t want to do his nails. In fact I doubt any vet would want to bc he’s so difficult to deal with.

HELP PLEASE! vet visits have been a nightmare! my dog is now a year old and have been going to the vet since she was weeks old, we handle her almost everyday to get her use to it and be more comfortable but after the few visits recently, she started to not want to get touched at all by the nurses so now they can't even administer her shots without her being super stressed out and us holding her tight. any advice on how i can help her be more comfortable with injections?

If she has her rabies and other shots, then maybe try dog parks if the weather is nice. She might not be use to others, espically since covid

Hi. This why I always insist on supervision when giving your dog any type of raw bone. Something else I do is hold on to it while the gnaw on it a bit, especially if it’s their first time. Basically introduce it slowly and always always monitor. Never leave them alone with it. Raw bones are much easier for dogs to chew and break down (It’s what their ancestors all did). I would NEVER give a dog a cooked bone because those are NOT easy for them to break down and they could easily choke on them.

She would say no to the rice. She doesn’t do carbs for her dog. You need to add certain vitamins too. Dog food is regulated and made with very specific vitamins and minerals so just throwing together food at home without knowing what you’re doing isn’t ideal. They do sell powders and supplements you can add to homemade dog food to make sure they’re getting all the nutrients they need to be healthy.
