Rachel, I really need your advice right now! My dachshund puppy eats everything like a vaccumer. Today he ate raw couscous by accident and has been throwing up all day, eating, throwing up again and eating until there was just foam coming out. But I'm sure he can eat again right now! Two days ago he got into the food bucket of our 6 year old dachshund and helped himself for like 10 min. They all blame me for all that because I'm not feeding him enough. I don't know what to do anymore, please help! It hurts seeing him hurt like this but he eats like everything - pieces of rug, sticks, bird poop, ... you name it, he eats it

We adopted a 1 year old pug about a week and a half ago. He’s pretty much trained, but he’s pretty reactive on leash because he wants to play with all the other dogs in our apartment community while on his walks! We did everything in this video tonight and he caught on so fast, it was already a MAJOR improvement. THANK YOU!!

Great leash training advice. I am a dog trainer and this is the most common complaint I have from my clients. I have to admit that when some of my pet parents realize how much work it takes to train their dogs to walk properly, they tend to give up. You did a great job explaining the process and how much time and patience is really invloved.

Yes! Its exhausting walking a dog, gotta be constantly on alert. Gotta be aware of blind truns and driveways, food on the ground, runners, other dogs, lose dogs, and on top of that, gotta be aware of whats coming out the back end of ones own doggies. I walk with my pack of 4 (used to be 5 😢), and occasionally have to break them up in pairs to do more focused discipline when they forget they have manners. Walking them can be a beautiful relaxing experience, but always always on alert.

My 13 week old Aussie doesn't pull unless he sees a dog or human. When he checks in with me (or maybe he isn't), it is clear that he is focusing more on the treats in my hand or my treat pouch rather than making eye contact. Is this still acceptable since he does often look in my direction (but clearly looking at treat/waiting for reward)?

You need to have a high value treat like chicken something that to them is the best thing ever. Also when training indoors and outdoors keep them on a training lead so you can correct unwanted behaviour. He’s stolen my heart. I’m just going to try to work with him. Hes 4 months old and 50 pounds and is already so strong and pulls on the leash so much, especially when he sees another dog. He will go crazy and choke himself and nothing I do draws his attention away from the dog. I have to drag him away on the leash but I feel bad that I could be hurting his neck bc he fights me the whole time. It’s a real struggle. And it’s embarrassing that I can’t control him. And it’s just going to get worse when he gets bigger.

well I have an 4 month Aussie and I got her to stop biting by having to give her a command. maybe try to teach him that if he wants to play make him sit or down. And if he’s still biting give him a toy or calm him down by removing him. but again, all dogs are different 🤷♀️
@gguigou Жыл бұрын
I think your videos are really good on training and obedience but for a walk I think it should be more based on the dog and sure like teach it not to not to tug and not to jump and not run away from you but but I think it should be more about the dog walking and sniffing because actually the point of a walk should be more about smelling because that also gets out their energy more than walking. then it’s less fun for the dog because they want to smell when they go on a walk. you can avoid interactions with other things and that’s fine but I think you should let your dogs smell more and not have to be 2 feet away from you cause that doesn’t really give them a lot of places to smell

But he’s highly food motivated, not rlly toy motivated (he’ll wait till u stop moving to thenn get it lmao, even with high pitch voice and lots of movement up close and all, still just stares till it stops moving😂) and praise seems like a neutral thing. He likes lovings, but idk about it being his motivation yet. But ig i just need to give more treats, on walks specifically. Inside he’s rlly well. I train with his food. Outside with treats.
