I relate a lot to how you’re feeling and know how tough it can be to sit with stress, sadness, and uncertainty. I’ve had to put my life almost entirely on pause this year due to health issues, and move back home, and while I’m optimistic and confident I’ll recover and get back to living my life, the timeline is uncertain. This also includes being separated from my partner - and no matter how confident and optimistic you are for the future, not having a timeline (or even a particular vision of how it will all come together) is the absolute worst. Dear Rachel, so weird that you speak about patience and not being able control where your life is. It's OK to have off days that what I came to realize it shows that we are human. For me it was getting in touch with my spiritual side. And yes you're doing fine at least you know what's draining your energy. My advise which helped me when I was feeling like how you're feeling is what you know already. Being grateful for your new journey. Be grateful that you see your boyfriend soon someone people are alone in this world and don't have anyone to love them like that. Be grateful for being financially able to travel some people can't afford to travel or have never been on a plane a train let alone a car..and so forth. This made me get up and keep going. Oh my word Rachel! This video is what I needed right now. After living and serving in Thailand for 7yrs, I'm moving back home stateside to Ohio. It's extremely stressful. Last week I found myself just not caring about my life here (although I love it and its super rewarding) and just wanting to be on a plane back to the States. Feel you! After a few years of ldr we are getting together, spent a couple of months figuring out burocracy stuff, so hard when you don't know the laws of a new country. I just want to hug you and tell you it's gonna be great 🎉 For de-stressing, they say you need some physical (work out, dance, jump) and emotional (melodrama cry, rollercoaster fear, a stand up comedy, etc) release. For the red tape, it's difficult (saying as a person who made and then changed lots of very important choices in my life because of it). What helps me is introducing some sort of a resolution for the period of uncertainty and reframing it, e.g.a period of unemployment between my two jobs was the time when I went in for drawing, the period when my best friends moved countries and I was left alone was the time I started a weekly habit of going to the italian movies all by myself. Maybe you can get yourself some project for when you're back in Australia, so you will remember it as a nice and meaningful time in the future.

I USED to be a 'collector' of bathroom/personal care products.. Many years ago when i first got my drivers licence, i would go on a shopping spree in Priceline 😂 BUT over the years, i've found my Holy Grail products and i STICK to them. It is very tempting to still go wild in Priceline though. 💖

I can relate to a lot of what you are saying. I just said goodbye to my boyfriend of 10 months yesterday and i won't see him for 3 months. He lives in the US and i live in Denmark. I just graduated from school this year and have not found work yet, which makes it feel like im stuck in between places. Can you explain how storage lockers work?

Sure, they're usually big warehouses full of different sized lockers. You rent them out at a monthly rate depending of the size. Usually ranges from $60-$200 a month. Agreements are month to month and you just have to give some notice when you want to vacate. But its essentially a great way to store stuff for cheaper than having a proper place 😊😊

Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it’s hard to understand where our path is leading us. Patience…yes….also try to focus on looking forward rather than looking back with regret. Other than expensive things I can’t replace, I make it a rule to not travel with toiletries. Things like sunscreen and razors can be repurchased at most destinations so free your mind and your suitcase of that type of clutter. The curse of living in Australia - it’s so frigging far from anything and what should be a quick trip home to see family turns into a mega saga. Don’t discount the psychological effect that lockdown in Melbourne had on you either. A lot of us are still struggling to come to terms with that and I dont think anyone else in the world really understands that. 238 days. It was cruel and I don’t blame you at all for being a little bit ambivalent about coming home and worrying that you’re going to get stuck again.
